FRP lock- G930F - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hi everyone!
I have a very big Problem with my european version G930F Exynos S7 ! I bought it ''used'' from a guy for a very good price but because we didn't have WiFi where we met, I could only see that the exterior of the phone and the Display was working fine..so I bought it.. (In 6.0- you MUST connect to Internet first to go through Set-up). Then at home I see it has the FRP lock ; the guy has reset the phone without deleting his Google-Account first. On 6.0 the USB Stick trick also doesn't work... Of course he doesn't admit it and doesn't want to help. I asked guys on Ebay which offer FRP unlock service but they said ''s7 not yet supported''.
The way I see it , my only hope now is either to install Android 5.1 -(from S6?) to be able to use that Usb Trick or to find where this FRP LOCK is located on the Phone and delete it (or is it stored on Google Servers?????) ..The 3. Option is too costly to consider-- a Octoplus box-for over 300$- considering that's almost as much as I paid for the phone--it is way too much. So the first 2 options are the only left.. Which do you recommend, guys?
Thanks in advance ..

None of the above, stop using stolen phones and making excuses.
You can't install android 5.1 on the Galaxy S7 (the bootloader won't let you) and the FRP on Android 6.0.1 is locked down tight and I am thankful for that, because it's a security meant to prevent theft.

AT&T Samsung SGH-i667 Focus 2 ..... has *anybody* Developer Un-Locked this phone ?
Hi all !
I have hit the wall - so am a bit at my wits end
With the goodwill of the mod's ........ here goes:-
=> has anybody, or does anyone know of anyone who has Developer Un-Locked their AT&T Samsung SGH-i667 Focus 2 ?
if yes
=> can you please post how you did it ?
Thanks,
Ben
That depends, what firmware version do you have? Did you install any Samsung updates via Zune?

Developer unlock is easy; you just have to use the official unlock tool. However, that's not going to get you what you're asking for. It would only let you sideload low-privilege apps. Also, tons of people used WindowBreak and the Internet Sharing unlock hack back when they worked. That was "fixed" (breaking the hack we were using) almost a year ago, now, though.
Please don't go making threads like this. Your questions have been quite thoroughly answered on other threads. Your device firmware is too new to use WindowBreak or other similar hacks. This means you can use the hacks to enable Internet Sharing (or to interop-unlock). Nobody has found a way to flash the gen2 Samsung phones yet, so you can neither downgrde your firmware nor install a custom ROM. AT&T charges money for WiFi tethering, so the phone disables the feature until AT&T tells them it's OK.

[Q] S6 Bootloader, Rooting and Exynos

Having never had a Samsung device before, I might be turning to the S6 Edge once it's released to replace my ageing Nexus 5 but I have a few questions that can put me off and was wondering if you guys can clarify them for me.
1) Does the 'international' version come with a locked or unlocked bootloader (i.e. if I were to buy it off of Amazon UK). If locked, how easy is it to unlock the bootloader on previous Samsung phones? This probably also voids warranty unlike the Nexus and HTC right?
2) How easy has it been to root Samsung phones in the past?
3) What does having an Exynos processor mean (in terms of modding)? Will that make it harder to root? harder to unlock bootloader? Not being able to Install Stock Vanilla Android ROM?
4) Finally, I've played around with a couple of friend's Samsungs (Note 3,4, S5,S4) and I absolutely hate TouchWiz.. It just looks ugly. How easy is it to get rid of it all together, including sounds, menus, etc. (either by installing Stock Android ROM) or by removing these components from TouchWiz ROM?
5) To sum up. Ideally I'd like to have Vanilla Android Lollipop with an unlocked bootloader and root, and customize as I like; do you think this would be possible? What would the tradeoffs?
I hope my questions are clear! If they aren't please let me know to clarify them further.

1. We don't really know yet. As far as I know all previous international models of the Galaxy S phones had unlocked bootloaders.
2. With my S2 and S4 it has been really easy to root. I don't expect real problems here.
3. Here's where it gets tricky. Exynos processors made it harder to create AOSP roms due to the closed-source nature of the kernel. I expect there to be no change there.
4. Well, custom roms may be able to help here. They may be able to tweak the UI, remove bloatware or even change the whole UI. Perhaps a stable AOSP port will be created, it's too early to tell yet.
5. If you want an AOSP rom, I'm not sure if the S6 is what you're looking for. A Nexus device would be ideal or you can look at the HTC One M9. If you can live with a Touchwiz based rom, you shouldn't have any problems here.
This is just my view on this all. There may be others who can shed some light on it.
From what I understood, rooting your Samsung allows you to remove quite alot of the TouchWiz bloat. Is it possible to also get rid of the UI they stick ontop of Stock Android or is that baked in?

Well, there is a difference between Touchwiz and the pre-installed applications. Touchwiz is the whole look&feel with the modified applications. This means a modded email client, dialer, contacts app, settings, launcher, power menu, etc.
While you can remove some applications while rooted (for example the Samsung Store), you can't modify the looks like the power menu, settings, top bar with the clock, etc.. This is baked into the rom itself.
Regarding the email, dialer, launcher and contacts apps, you can download and use third-party apps for that. This will make it look at lot better, but it won't fix everything.
I guess now that Xposed has been released for Lollipop ART as soon as Rovo manages to fix it for Samsung ROMs, that will also allow changing the UI on the TouchWiz ROM substantially right?
well, i hate samsung when will get modify the handset
if someone will succeed root samsung device, it must be can't claim on samsung service centre
well, i just have old exynos from S4/S5, we don't know yet S6 comes with exynos 14nm
hope developers will make it later
Samsung added themes to the s6

Rooting Galaxy S6
Hey all,
I am new to posting on XDA. I've seen similar post throughout XDA but nothing that really answers my questions. I recently purchased the S6 and I'd like to root it. I don't want to install custom ROMs all I want is root access for mods that might require that. I have the international variant SM-G920F.
I don't really care about being able to pay using my phone.
1) Most posts claim that I won't be able to update over the air (OTA), is that true? If so is there any luck that this will change in the near future?
2) What root method do you suggest? In terms of ease of use.
3) Mods. What mods do you suggest?
Thank you,
Need to SIM unlock a Galaxy S6
I purchased my phone (Samsung Galaxy S6) from Best Buy to be used with AT&T. This was after 2 AT&T employees and a Best Buy employee told me that getting the unlock code is very easy and straightforward. I have been to the web site to request unlock codes twice. Both times failed. After that I called and they told me, effectively, that my phone is too new. Due to this they require 6 months of paid service before they will consider unlocking it. I am due to leave the country in 4 months. I need to get this phone unlocked... Can anyone tell me how to proceed?
P.S. I am a computer programmer with a lot of experience. I already have the phone in developer mode with the ADB activated. I have the android developers toolkit installed and ready to go. I mention this just so anyone responding will have some idea of the technical level they can use when replying.

What you will get, eventually, from ATT is a carrier unlock code that will allow you to use foreign carrier sim cards for service. This is not a bootloader unlock.

1. This is a SIM Unlock, not a bootloader unlock. This will let you use your phone with other supported carriers, not unlock your bootloader.
2. If this is your intention, however, AT&T will only unlock the phone if you've completed your contract obligations with the line your phone is tied to. If you're under contract, you can't get it fully unlocked. However, if you tell them you need it internationally unlocked, they should be able to give you a different unlock code to get that to work. Try giving CS a ring and explain you need it unlocked for abroad, not for the US.
I have been trying the official routes to do the unlock

I have tried the official routes (web site and phone) and been denied. They basically told me that while I own the phone, and owe them no money of any kind, the phone is too new. They are demanding 6 months of paid service to release the phone that I already own!
Unlock 5 minute 4K recording (Docomo Galaxy S6)
Just bought me the shiny new S6 and love everything about it except one thing; the 5 minute limit to 4K recording. Are there any apps that will let me record for longer durations, or is there a mod out there I need to use?
Thanks in advance.

Any chance that you could download the QCN files from your phone so that I could use it in mine? That would really be awesome for me.
I have a Note 4, international.......not working good in Japan.

android security

Hi everyone , I've been an android user for the last couple of years I still own an iPhone but I'm really excited to sell it because from now on I feel that buying an iPhone is buying a piece of plastic with technology from 3 years ago with an apple sticker , OK, why am I making this post well .Nowadays stealing a phone is useless because of the security measures used on them , with an iPhone it's impossible to unlock the device without the icloud but on the Android side , with my note 5 I'm able to reset and use it like it was a brand new phone even though I've set the fingerprints lockscreen, if someone steals my phone they can press home+power+volume up and do a factory reset and BANG they have a new phone , I have rooted my phone but is anything possible fix this ? Any kind of configuration or app that stills make the recovery menu possible and the factory reset option but still maintain my security configuration that why even that people erase all the data on my.phone the couldn't be able to use it because it would still have the lockscreen setup with my f in Niger prints or code . Thank you

To be honest no. Even your finger print can be grabbed from the device. No mobile device security is complete. There are even ways to get around apples.
Best advise is dont lose your device or keep anything really important on it.
there are back doors built into android I read a while ago that if you know the persons Gmail account on the phone you can actually make it urs I mean the imei number might be bad but there is always wifi but anyways all u need is the Gmail associated with the phone and the password null and bam you in I have yet to try it but I will here in a few
There's an option to enable a reactivation lock. But really, flashing a custom ROM will remove this. There's no way around it, on any device.
Installing some security software may help to catch a thief. I'm using one which takes picture using front camera and emailing it to me after 3 unsuccessful passwords. On rooted phone is impossible to remove untill you flash new firmware

How to unlock my phones?

Hello xda community,
I have three phones that are locked: LG 7 Thin Q, Samsung Galaxy A51 and Xiaomi Mi 9.
All have been set back to factory state and now are google locked. I've forgotten all google password and accounts. In addition the A51 is locked with a device password and and the Xiaomi Mi 9 is locked with a pattern.
Is there something I can do in this case?
Have a nice day,
phonylocks
Edit: I forgot to mention that I want to sell all three of them. If I can't sell them I'll probably use them myself as soon as my phone dies.
I would flash clean stock ROM but be aware, I may be responsible only for my own phone as you are for yours.
You do it on your own risk.
This is the base rule here.
OK a short update: I've installed a clean stock rom on my Galaxy A51 by using a guide from https://www.getdroidtips.com/galaxy-a51-5g-firmware-flash-file/
It literally changed nothing. There is still a device password and there is still a missing google account.
UPDATE: I may have downloaded the 5G version and if so I will try out the one that's not 5G/best fitting
I'm stuck on all phones together. It's ****ed up. I need help. I will search the xda forum but if you know anything useful regarding my issue at hand please let me know.
*push*
I would try to flash clean ROM without SIM inside and eventually without network, however the latter may be rather problematic.
Samsungs need network, but on WiFi it is usually possible to filter traffic then prevent access to Google.
Not that it must help but if phone still will be locked that would mean lock is on phone, not on Google, then purging everything should solve problem.
I hardly remember that once upon a time I've read what to do in such case but I don't remember where.

Galaxy Xcover 4 is driving me insane

I work for an NGO in The Gambia. Every year, a company gives us their decommissioned phones as a gift. We equip them with a few apps, switch the phones to English, and if necessary make a good one out of two broken phones. After we send everything to the Gambia and distribute it to our staff.
About me, I am an IT system technician, I am well versed in the administration of Windows and Linux systems and have many years of professional experience. But I'm only marginally familiar with Android systems, I've played around with ADB a bit or rooted my own phone, but nothing more.
This year we received, among other things, 6 Samsung Galaxy XCover 4 mobile phones. Of these, 5 are blocked, obviously the mobiles had been reset to factory settings. Of course they didn't know that the Google accounts had to be removed BEFORE!
I didn't even know the term FRP until a few days ago. Odin was also a foreign word for me and I had never loaded firmware into a mobile before.
I've learned a lot since then but of course I still don't have a clue.
I suggest that these phones now have a security level that successfully repels all known ways of entering the system. Especially with this tip I had high hopes that this could lead to success: (https://github.com/wuseman/Samsung.Xcover.4-FrpBypass), but that doesn't work either.
Neither does the original of this idea at https://www.hardreset.info/devices/...le-verification/frp-samsung-android-8-2020/?p =5
For the latter, I had specially simulated a battery, because it is almost impossible to insert the SIM card with the battery inserted. But as I said, all unsuccessful.
I thought a solution could be to downgrade the operating system so that one of the exploits could now work again. That's why I started experimenting with Odin. And only Stock FW. I found it here e.g. https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-xcover-4/firmware/SM-G390F/DBT/#SM-G390F.
However, the attempt to downgrade within an Android version already fails. So if Android 9 U5 is on the cell phone and I want to downgrade to U4, that's not possible. Thank goodness Odin somehow checks that and breaks off, so far I haven't lost any of the phones.
Is there a way to tweak this somehow? Or are these phones lost?
What exactly does this FRP do. Why isn't this information also deleted from the phone by flashing? Where the hell do they store the info that this phone once was used with a ****ing google account!
I lost several nights to solve this. For that lost time I could buy 5 brandnew phones, but in the meantime that is also a question of prestige.
I would be really grateful for any advice!

Some of this phones (not the xcover) even have working exchange accounts installed. Is a small company.

The easiest way is to have the original users remove their Google account and maybe Samsung Knox account if applicable. It needs to all be gone.
FRP is well known and is in place to help secure devices in the event of being lost or stolen.
