Is it possible to unlock boot loader Cricket Moto G Android 4.4.4

Thank You for your Help!
Sent from my XT1045 using XDA Free mobile app
im in the same crappy spot!
Still waiting on root for my Moto G 4G LTE also
I too am STUCK
apparently on 4.4.2 you could can not as of yet. I doubt one will come, it appears both the software and the bootloader is very secure. Don't hold your breath if this phone gets updated to lollipop. Best option is to sell the moto g on ebay and purchase another moto g that is factory unlocked and not tied to att. I will never puchase a cricket/att device ever again
Yes, I unlocked my Cricket (AIO) xt1032 with Sunshine. http://theroot.ninja/
(it costs 25$ to do it though...and it won't work on 4.4.4, but Cricket/AIO never pushed the 4.4.4)

ohhh lucky you but isnt that the non-LTE motoG?
Yeah, the xt1032 is the non-lte version
So basically, all of us with Cricket branded devices running 4.4.4 are screwed, and never getting Lollipop?
I chatted with a Cricket rep the other day and they said they have no plans to upgrade XT1045 to Lollipop.
Does anyone have an explanation as to why Motorola won't give out bootloader unlock codes for these devices?

Because at will not let you unlock the boot loader to your device. As many of us know cricket was bought out by att. So now cricket is now a part of att network and att will not let Motorola let their customers unlock their boot loader through their website. If the moto g LTE is on 4.4.2 or 4.4.3 then you can easily go to the root.ninja website and they will unlock it for a price of 25 bucks. Once its unlocked that boot loader cannot be locked again even after a system update. As for lollipop I am not sure that they will or will not give the system update for the moto g LTE. Cricket is well known for not knowing what they are talking about when it comes to their devices. But if you can unlock the boot loader then theirs really no need to wait for the system update as cm12 is just as good as lollipop. In my opinion its better than stock lollipop

I am not a customer of AT&T or Cricket. I should have the right to do whatever I want to my phone. This would probably lead to nothing, but I wonder if any legal avenue can be taken here.

As I to feel like we should be able to do whatever we want to with the phones we buy. However the agreement between Verizon and at with Motorola prohibits them to let us unlock our devices through Motorola website. Which means that we have to find a way through other means like developers finding a loophole. This thing has been going on for years with Verizon and att. Even though you bought the phone outright from cricket, they are still att branded phones which blocks you from unlocking the easy and free way. However with sprint and tmobile your able to unlock it. I have the boost mobile CDMA moto g and had no trouble on the Motorola website. If you can go through the legal avenue on this one and achieve then you have no idea how many hands would be shaking yours from att and Verizon.lol

Possible to root Verizon Moto G (XT1028) with 4.4.4 using Crash's method for MotoX?

I guess I am one of the unlucky one to purchase the verizon prepaid Moto G from Bestbuy Sale to only find out that it came with 4.4.4 and could not be rooted.
Apparently nothing work at this moment.
However, it appears previously Moto G and Moto X had similar rooting method prior to 4.4.4, and someone has worked out a way to root verizon Moto X on 4.4.4 at here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/moto-x-root-pogress-60-t3071602
I am wondering if it is possible someone could adapt this method to make it work with Moto G on 4.4.4?
Sucks But....
No. :/ I have been searching for about a year now. Verizon had Moto lock the BL on the G's that Verizon had intended on selling. I was not aware of it.. Looked at it the same day also saw the quad core and jumped on it. I will remember to study from now on. I have heard rumors about Verizon letting Moto Release the BL Code but I highly doubt that. For now it sits in the realm of silence, waiting ..... possibly forever.
Good Luck

How can i root my moto g3 2015 marshmallow

I want to unlock bootloader n root my moto g3 2015 marshmallow. I checked other forum aswell didnt find the solution. Hope u can help me
Have to use Motorola's unlock code found from their unlock support page. If it's a carrier branded model you've got a 50/50 chance that they will allow it. Once unlocked, rooting should be no problem. If you're allowed to unlock.

This method has worked for everyone else, does it not work for you? If you don't want Xposed, just skip the last step...
It was on the first page of the Moto G 2015 general forum, and has been for a couple months... it is easy to find.

[Q]How to Unlock Bootloader of XT1045 Cricket Moto G?

Hello Guys @ XDA.
I need HELP unlocking the bootloader of my Moto G 4G XT1045 Cricket mobile phone.
Please Help
Thanks in Advance.
Go to the Motorola Bootloader Unlocking site and follow the instructions on the site.
Google that, and you should be able to unlock your phone at a bootloader level.
That won't work. You'll just get a message about this device not being eligible for unlocking or something like that.

DC-Unlocker might be both your/OP's best bet if that works, but if it does not, then sadly, you might be stuck with a phone that you cannot do much, and believe me, it sucks as my brother-in-law had a Sony Xperia neo that was locked to T-Mobile, and therefore bootloader-locked, as a SIM-locked phone usually has its bootloader locked as well.
Update: after checking out the site, Motorola phones aren't supported.
Update #2: Check this out, but this will leave you $25 lighter on your wallet:
http://theroot.ninja
Unless something has changed recently, Sunshine doesn't work either because it's 4.4.4. Even if it did- yeah, it probably doesn't make much sense to spend more money than the phone is worth to unlock it. ?

You can nstall the moto g pro roms on US version moto g stylus. When the android 12 is released for moto g pro, you can flash it to moto g stylus and everything should work.

You don't need root to flash moto g pro roms onto moto g stylus. You just need to unlock the bootloader.
On some devices like Oneplus devices, there are even ways to cross-flash roms/firmwares without unlocking bootloader, like flashing global unlocked firmware to carrier-specific variants. On moto devices, it's also possible to cross flash different firmwares with locked bootloader but more complicated.
Unlocking bootloader and rooting are two different things.
You can have unlocked bootloader and non-root roms even though unlocked bootloader is usually a prerequisite of rooting.
On some devices, you can root without unlocked bootloader, usually through some exploits.
There's always more to learn. Thanks.
I just did the update to our G-Stylus now its a G-Pro running A12 with no issue so far and Android Auto wireless works much much better
one thing since A12 has more battery optimizing stuff built in i had to kill of a few otimizer apps seem they were fighting the system
Rooting was same as before so no problems so far
BUT NOT required to get A12 since i can assure u i had to do a clean ReRoot after the upgrade using the Moto upgrade tool....look for change software channel here in the forums.
still like the 2022 5G Stylus with 8gb Ram so that may happen but not such a rush now
