Hi All,
I got MAGPAD 7.1 as a present and after 1.5months of use I conclude that "as is" it's next to useless.
It's unstable, batterry eating, constantly crashing, with WiFi connection that turns itself off... well... by itself, so it has to be manually turend on again , and etc. To put it short: it's next to useless.
It would seem some of this may source from the fact that it runs some sort of double desktop (I don't need) and a lot of software supplied by the vedor including all kind of services I dont\t use.
So, I would like to try and make it a useful. As a first step it would seems reasonable to wipe it out clean and install some custom and lightweight Android. However, the only experience I have regarding such activity was on my OLD HTC Diamond Touch. Back then, btw, installation of a custom rom instead of the cell-company one worked wonders.
Reading some web, including this forum, I understood that the process shoul dbe something like that:
1. Root the device
2. Install something that should help me manage roms
3. Wipe the original rom clean and install crispy new Android.
Is this correct?
Will this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460 script help me with step 1?
What application is supposed to help me with rom managements and where do I get it?
An any1 suggest me a stable ligthweight ROM that would fit my poor MAGPAD 7.1?
Thanks a lot.
PS Sorry for being a total newb on this
Steps 1 and 2 are now clear (actually, step 1 is complete). But step 3 remains in the darkness.
I don't seem to find any ROM for MAGPAD v7.1, maybe its rebranding of some chineese make?
Does any one know how I can find the specs of the Tablet, to find the most sutable ROM alterantive?
By now I'm pretty sure it's rebradngin of something generic (1 reaosn being the fact that there's no info about this tablet ANYWHERE on the web)
This subforum should be renamed to "Questions" as in "with no answers".
No, really, doesn't any1 know how to find out the chipset for an unknown Android Tablet? Maybe there's some sort of applicaton that analyzes the hardware? Some way to find what ROMs are compatible?
Dear my friends,
i knwo, this is the "normal" Mate 9 thread, but there is no Pro forum and in the Porsche forum is ... boooring
So, to me, i own a porsche design (LON-L29C721), i already have got TWRP and root on it, thx to Rayglobe, but its TWRP without encryption support, and root just with phh´s avaliable!
here is now my question:
Is there any newer TWRP for LON models out there? Cause i really want to use a TWRP with encryption support to get root with magisk!
And, if i´m already here, question to ALL Mate Users:
- How can i turn off the charging led ... it´s horrible (root available)
- Light Flow isnt working right, any other app what works with emui5?
- any app or mod out there, to get increasing ringtones?
THX mates,
cheers Markus
Same here and busybox is not installing. Any help?

Edit: OH. I think I helped you already. Didn't notice this post was from april
Anyhow, you should be able to use the TWRP for regular Mate 9, then install Magisk using that.
If any of you Pro owners want to test, here's a newer TWRP: https://mega.nz/#!45kwBJaY!4e1uRfrqOME7gHzuICHxX9L8BF6fCY1qbzzEkz8i4zs
It uses /cache for TWRP settings so they're actually kept between reboots, and you can select /cache as Storage to flash from, which should save some trouble since you have no ext sd. (Unless you decrypted, which makes /data readable).
The Copy Log button saves to /cache/recovery.log as well.
It's built using, mostly, Tkkg1994's sources and only removed /external_sdcard entry in recovery fstab, and altered partition sizes in BoardConfig.mk to match raimondo's source.
If it doesn't work and you can't get back to recovery, use fastboot to flash back older twrp.
ante()
I see this is a month old but I just came across it having issues with my mate 9 rooted at the moment... So I stumbled across this twrp to test and I will try it both on this 9 pro and I also will try it on my pd .
Since rooting I can only use puffin browser because any others the minute I launch my Kirin 960 throttles to minimums and it's like horrible ... In case anyone else out there has run into this I'm all ears... I've tried everything even terminal su command stop bcl stop perkd and nothing budges it so frustrating....

Able to elaborate on that? Do you have the Google Playstore but the apps are not getting installed or you do not have the Google Playstore?
As I know, general GMS Core doesn't support Enjoy 7. But I found a post about GMS for it as below. FYI.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/how-to-install-google-play-store-huawei-t3699190
Bought the same phone in china and I'm also not able to install google play in it. As James_Watson said, looks like there's no support for the required GMS core packages on it.
This theard he pointed out however, points to solutions for the enjoy 7 plus, that despite the similar name, seems to be a completely different phone. In another thread a user named XiaoMigue was able to use the room of a indian equivalent phone to extract the system files and thru a complicated process, flash it in his phone and was able to make it work.
The Enjoy 7 (sla-al00) on the other hand, doesn't seem to even have a twrp recovery that works untill now. I was able to unlock the bootloader and use adb to make a few tests, but not much further. Discovered that there's a phone called Y6 Pro 2017 (sla-l22) being sold in Europe, that looks the same as ours. When there's a twrp, thing i'll try to load it's stock rom on mine.
Hi I have the same issue. Could not find any ROM for sla-al00 for enjoy 7. U can't start up tarp but can connect via adb to issue command. Flash enjoy7 plus Rom but can't work when restart. Have to reset back to factory. Do u have the link to Rom sla-i22?
anyone any luck to instal gapps? snapchat and you tube needs google play services to work....

Easy way in install Google Services for Huawei Enjoy 7 Plus
After searching for many weeks,I found this apk works good for Enjoy 7 Plus.
Btw,my version is end with B220,but I think it could works for any Enjoy 7.
Hope you like it.
I shared my file in my onedrive. It not allows to post an url outside this site,so you need to delete the plus.

As shown in screenshots, the user interface of this TWRP seems to be in Chinese language.
Does it also include English language?

HEY
if you still got that huawei without play store, check this sub here:

enjoy
If this issue hasnt bee resolved for you, here is what you need to do.
You have to install correct version of GMS installer and then correct version of Google Installer in order to get play store on this phone. I have done an extensive guide on this.
You can find it here: https://www.oscrunch.com/2018/12/11/play-store-huawei-honor-chinese/
If anybody still needs help with this, I managed to install Google Play Store on SLA-AL00.
The solution in this video worked, no need for root, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0Q7n_q879k
But I had to use a different Google Installer downloaded from here: https://techbeasts.com/play-store-huawei-honor-chinese/
I've read on internet that is possible to install EMUI 8.0 on Huawei P9 through the use of HiCare (but in my phone doesn't work).
This is the step:
Launch the HiCare app. You will be notified to set a location or region.
Set the location to China or Chinese.
The selection is mostly right above Hong Kong option.
Now provide proper permissions.
HiCare app detects your location automatically.
When prompted, do not change the location back to your own country.
Once setup, go to HiCare main page. Let it download necessary content for your device.
Once done, you will be get a new firmware update.
Most likely the latest Android 8.0 Oreo.
Anyone know if it's possible to do?

Never seen or heard that changing location for HiCare makes it possible to change the cust (AFAIK, changing location in HiCare is about getting local support, customizing Gallery App and its content, and about HiCloud).
Changing cust for firmwares requires to have unlocked Bootloader and to flash/change the oeminfo.
Besides, even when you make it and upgrade to Chinese Oreo, mobile connection will not work without flashing the needed network patch.
So forget doubtful YT and who-knows-where Internet 'guides', here on XDA you have a thread (with large and active community) devoted to rebranding to the Chinese Oreo AL10c00b540, with instructions and resources how to fix the modem (network patch), Magisk/rooting, and even to add Face Unlock (that does not come with stock Chinese Oreo)

I wrote above that changing location through HiXXXX apps affect what you get through those apps (and IMO, you don't change location separate per each HiXXXX app, but once for all), but that all that has absolutely nothing with changing cust for firmware.
And I know very well what is HiCloud and HiCare....
However, HWOTA7 method as here on XDA (link in the previous answer) does work
PS: If you take time and read OP insrructions in that thread, you will see that rebranding is not that 'easy' as it would be by declaring your Hong Kong residency. Even when you change cust and download and install the Chinese Oreo firmware, you still need some adaptations (network patch) to get it work on the mobile networks outside of China
Writing you all this from such a rebranded P9 with the Chinese Oreo, hence knowing very well about the matter

You must have done something wrong.
The method worked for everybody else, many, many people from elsewhere, both on L09 and L19, and starting from different cXXX ( just look into the thread how many participants)
If you still want to do it, better describe what did you do (by points in its OP post #2) and by which point it 'fails' for you.
And it would be more effective to post for such help in the thread, there will be better chance to get an accurate answer

Method does not depend pn your location.
You must only have access to Internet to download all files you will need, as precisely described:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77161313&postcount=2
If you don't receive OTA Patch02, just skip, it's not crucial.
Everything else you download and install by yourself, hence you cannot be blocked by Huawei by your loxation.
However, you will need to download about 2,5 GB or so of files
Hello Guys,
So i'm new to Oppo, but an old wolf within these corridors.
I have some questions for you crazy people who bought the Chinese DUAL sim version of the Oppo Find X2 Pro.
I went through all the threads, read them and there are some inconsistent answers. So i will post my questions (feel free to ask me to add more) and will update the orginal post with the answers you will give me - so this helps new comers.
1. Does Google Playstore work?
-Confirmed working
2. Does Google Pay work?
-Confirmed working
3. Does Google assistant work?
-Apparently yes, but the "Hey Google" voice detection apparently is grayed out and doesn't work (Need more confirmation on this also)
- Works with issues or extra application
4. Do Gsuite applications work?
-Normally they should as Oppo is not blacklisted like Huawei and runs GMS. But could someone confirm please.
5. Do third party launchers work (without ADBing "pm" the orignal launcher) ?
- NEED CONFIRMATION - but apparently not
- Confirmed not working
6. Does 5G / 4G work?
Apparently a forum member living in Italy says it works fine, but found that some 5G bands are not present in the Chinese version. Please reply yes or no and on which carrier you are and which country.
- NEED MORE CONFIRMATIONS
7. Does WifiCalling and / or VoLTE work? And if they do /don't please write down your carrier/country
-NEED CONFIRMATION
8. Can you force install the Global ROM onto the Chinese Phone (important point here)?
-Still waiting to see if that is possible. Waiting to get confirmation from people who tried / succeeded / failed please
- Waiting on results
9. Can you unlock bootloader and install TWRP.
-Only answers i could find were : yes and no, bootloader not yet unlockable, TWRP working... very confusing.
9. Apparently you can't use an app like Textra or other to replace the Stock SMS app (who uses SMS anyhow, right? but still an interesting point).
-Anyone?
10. Looking for tutorials on how to use MEMStool, QPST, etc... anyone know of any so i can link them here? Coming from Samsung, Oneplus, etc could be handy
- Anyone?
11- Autostart of more than 5 untrusted applications? asked by @yarik88
Has anyone won this limitation? This is very important, as it affects notifications from third-party applications. And without autorun, calls are not accepted in some messengers that are not indicated by Oppo as trusted.
You can give permission to the application to autostart related applications, therefore, perhaps there is a program (something like an autostart manager) giving it the right to autostart, it will already launch the application that you specify in it. But so far I have not found one and these are my assumptions
12. Anything else?
Thanks for your feedback and help.
I can come back to you on the other questions for but for now I bought mine from Wonda. Google Play was pre installed and works fine (I had a P40 Pro before so I know about Play Store not working fully!)
Google Pay works without issue. The app is stable and have used all my cards to pay using NFC.
Google assistant works once when you set it up, then it takes itself out of settings. I use the Google Voice Search app instead (I only use mine to set timers etc). All my other Google apps work fine, maps gmail etc.
4G works fine, I have the option for 5G in the menu but don't have a 5G sim to test. No option in the menu for VoLTE/WIFI calling it seems.
Flashing Global ROM needs more testers
8. Can you force install the Global ROM onto the Chinese Phone (important point here)?
All attempts to flash the Global (CPH) software on a Chinese (PDEM) phone were unsuccessful so far, however, it seems that all these people (claiming a failure while flashing) are members of the Beta program.
My friend with an Oneplus phone reports the same behaviour (the phone just won't let you flash an older firmware), furthermore, one Beta user here reported that now he can not even flash the original PDEM software while getting the same error message (The installed version is lower than current).
tl;dr
So there is a solid chance that all of this has nothing to do with Global/Chinese ROM, we just need users who AREN'T in the Beta program to test the ROM.
Global ROM (UK version), 12th May 2020, 3 597 MB, CPH2025_11_A.18: https://oppo-uk.custhelp.com/app/software_update_detail/p_name/Find+X2+Pro/session/
The same ROM decrypted from .ozip to .zip for those who want to play with it: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjPo24k0toyl0VJOap14txM-W3Nl?e=ePbq9I
While I've got you here, can you please see if you can install Nova launcher or lawn chair... Just to see if third party launchers work.
Thanks!!!

I think the same with all Chinese rom phones, there isn't an option to set another launcher. Yes you can download them and they appear but once you close an app it reverts back to stock. Just tried and no it doesn't set as home launcher (Lawnchair 2 anyway).
SO only way is to adb and uninstall the orginal launcher...thanks for confirming.

Blazingly fast phone, with almost unlimited RAM... and they limit autostart to 5.
Bizarre (theres that buzzword again!)
I don't get this thing of autostart... Are you telling me that this phone with 12gb of ram...limits 5 applications? Meaning if you have mail, WhatsApp, telegram, calendar , or other apps you need notifications for you are limited to 5 apps max??!!?

ItsIt's very similar to this.
This is Oppo's worst idea. I don't understand how they think in China, forbidding the user to use his phone. Just the thought that there are so many ad notifications from apps to take this step.
You have the "Manage autorun" setting in it on top of the list of trusted applications from installed (I have Instagramm, Skype, Telegramm, Whatsapp, Vk, Facebook) I think there are more, but here OPPO decides which applications to consider trusted.
Apps from this list do not affect the 5 apps limit.
And below is a list of all the other apps installed on your phone. And you can select Only 5 applications that have been autorun.
Notifications from applications that don't have autorun permission come in very badly, usually only when you start the application itself. But sometimes they break through, too, but not always.
For example, a SIGNAL messenger without autorun does not receive call notifications and becomes useless, you can get within an hour notifications that you missed a call.

I tried via recovery the last time using the official EU rom version from oppo's site... I will try these when I get home after work. I believe MSM tool might be the correct route to use from other posts in different threads. :good:

Thank you for your hard work! You deserve some sort of donation at this point.
To save your time, avoid the latest (4th) method (QPST) - files the application requires for flashing are not located in the Oppo's Global ROM.

I believe QFIL won't work either since we only have .ozip to work with..... I will try though. Now if only there was more time in the day to get this done... Of course this couldn't have been something when I had them Corona Days Off.... hahahaha

I guess a lot of people are waiting on you :fingers-crossed:
Great job for the community. fingers, toes , everything crossed to see if it works.
BUT i still beleive that there is a way to hack the dual sim for single sim international phones, which in a way would be much better.
