Text message app randomly pressing call - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

I've been having an issue from day one with my S7. When closing a text message, at least once a day the app will call the person whose message I'm closing. It's getting kind of frustrating. Is there maybe a gesture that I can disable that may be triggering this?

are you sure you aren't swiping right, in the message inbox??

whatsapp notification

So on my sensation when i CLEAR the whatsapp notification for a message it keeps reappearing after few seconds or mins? Even though i have not received another message.
Why is this happening? And how do i stop it?
It can't be stopped. You have to read the message inside WhatsApp to acknowledge and clear.

That's how WhatsApp has been made to behave, so you won't forget your incoming messages. There are notifications settings inside the app, but there is no option to disable this.
One option is to completely disable notifictions from the app, which is less convenient.
The other option is to just live with it. in most cases you'd like to read that message sometime, it will remind you.
Anyone knows if there is a place to feature request whatsapp team to implement an option to change this annoying behavior

SMS Text apps that have a few seconds delay before sending?

Wondering if anyone knows all of the texting apps that have the ability to enable a multi-second delay before sending the message. For example, with ChompSMS you can enable 'Delayed Sending' which gives you options of 1 second, 1.5 seconds, 2 seconds, 2.5 seconds, and 3 seconds. With this feature enabled, after you hit SEND in the app, you see a short progress bar counting down the seconds and the SEND button changes to STOP so that, if you notice any typos/mistakes/etc, you can hit STOP before those 3 seconds are up and the message will not be sent. Handcent also had this feature too, but I am not aware of any other apps that have this feature and it really is a must-have for me.
I also like the ability to reply from notifications in my texting app (i.e. Sliding Messaging, stock message app) but ChompSMS does not have this (I'm on Jelly Bean 4.3 running CM 10.2). Unfortunately ChompSMS does not have expandable notifications yet that allow me to reply from (instead of having to open up the entire app) so I am looking into alternative text apps with this delayed feature. Ideally, I'd like to find an app that has this multi-second delay before sending as well as expandable notifications that you can reply from (i.e. Sliding Messaging). I dont like intrusive 'pop-ups' that display on your phone for every message you get, I'd rather just be able to reply from the notification bar for certain messages.
Thanks in advance for any responses.
Go sms has that feature. A little countdown on the send button pops up and you can cancel it. But it's a premium feature, so I believe there's a ONE TIME fee... But I know for a fact it has it.. And it also has a pop up message option which I think pops up in front of other apps and you can simply reply from there... 'GOSMS' PLAYSTORE

Gear S2 and Google Hangouts notification history

Ok so I just noticed something I would like if anyone could chime in on. When I receive a hangout notification on the watch, at the bottom of the message there is a "READ MORE>" button. Tapping this lets me read the hangout thread going much farther back than just the current message in the notification.
However, once you clear the Hangout notification, you cannot view it anymore which means you can't type into Hangouts until you get another message/notification.
My question is this, is it possible to re-open notifications after you clear them? That would be nice... then I could, in essence, initiate a Hangouts message to someone I already had a message history with, i.e. all my contacts!
No, once you clear them they are gone. Instead of clearing them, back out with the button and return to your watch face, then they will stack and still be able to be replied to.
Interesting same issue with WhatsApp but only when you get 2 or more messages from the same contact, if you click read more hoping to see the others unread messages watch goes bonkers back way beyond

Is there some way to block the incoming call popup at the top?

The incoming call pop-up thingy is annoying me daily. The buttons are very small, and when I end a call I sometimes click after the other person has ended it so I then start to send a text message (same place button).
I have gone into apps and blocked the popup notifications for all 3 call apps, & the contacts app, and then I went to apps the can appear on top and turned off some stuff there as well, but still the popup stays.
So I would just like to have the normal call screen, at all times. The same one you get when you start a call yourself.
Is there a way, without rooting, to do this?
I've seen the google dialer apk which would probably fix it, but rather have stock dialer if possible.
It's in settings for Messages but not for Phone. Could be different for different Roms.
There is a line in phone preferences xml called "call_popup_preference"
If you're rooted you could try flipping that to false.

Messaging Pop-Up

Just recently got one of these and while I love it so far one of the issues I have is that with a lot of incoming messages the screen will light up and a big popup will show the message and allow you to reply or close. This bypasses all security and displays the message in full. Is there a way to stop this and just show the standard android notification?
