[Q] Dual sim mobile data on call switch - General Questions and Answers

So i got letv x600 dual sim phone, sim1 for calls only, sim2 for mobile data only (lte only set from the hidden menu *#*#4636#*#* [btw there are only options for sim2 sadly]), and i wonder if theres any way i can force sim1 to use 3g/4g automatically just when i call so i can get the "HD Voice" option for better call quality, and after a call ofc mobile data back to sim2? cuz switching it manually is a pain in the ass
Sorry for bad english and probably stupid question but it rly bothers me if this is even possible
Ps. i wouldnt mind if the call would take few secs longer cuz of network switching.

[Q] Simultaneous Sim 1 (Call) and Sim 2(3G Data)

I'm currently using two 3G enabled Sims in my Galaxy Core GT-i8262.
My Sole purpose of getting the Sim 2 was to use 3G Data/Internet on it, while using Sim 1 for Calling and texting only.
I went for Galaxy Core only because i have to use Voice and Data on 2 different Sims separately.
Therefore , i inserted the Sim 2, Went into Sim Manager > Enabled both Sim > Dual Sim Active
I also enabled "Receive incoming calls via Other Sim card while using Data service" in Both Sim 1 & Sim 2.
But when i selected this setting i received a popup "This might slow down the data transmission"
>Also i have Set Data as "Sim 2" in Sim 1, (So only Sim 2 will ne used for Data)
And Sim 1 as GSM Only while Sim 2 as WCDMA Only
But still, when i'm on a call in Sim 1, i can't use the 3G service of Sim 2 simultaneously. Only after disconnecting the call, Sim 2 3G Data starts working,
So the whole purpose of using Dual Sim goes wast when we can't use 3G internet on one sim while on call in the other.
Can anyone suggest how to enable this feature and also to avoid the "The slow data transmission" due to Dual Active Sim.. Otherwise this phone is just a piece of trash as i'll be on call most of the time and i won't be able to check my mail or Whatsapp msgs.
Please.. Anyone reply..
Ask this to samsung CEO he cannot answer that:sly:

While u r on a call on Sim 1 you cannot use the data connection from the Sim 2 even if its on WCDMA. But u can use 3G on the same sim on which the call is being recieved or done ...means Sim 1 can be used for both purpose simultaneously for Calling & Data connection on WCDMA ...even if u r on a call on sim 1 the data connection wont be lost...
hi! i'm not shure if i understand
i want to purchase this phone and i'm not shure if i can use in one sim voice over 3G and in the other one data over 3g.
I don't want to use voice and data in the same time...
Please help me
nobody can help me?
Hi Luciand, are you from Brazil?
My guess is that it is impossible to use voice on SIM 1 and data on SIM 2 because the smartphone have only one modem.
Even if it is capable of receiving calls on both SIM 1 or SIM 2, it is not possible to actively use the two SIMs at the same time.
For some smartphone to be capable of doing what you want, it should have two modems, which I believe would increase its cost and nobody would buy it...
I hope this helps, and if anyone knows better, please correct me!

You are able to select which SIMs data service the phone uses in the sim card manager under Data service network. However, you cannot use voice and data at the same time, regardless of which sim is set to be used for voice or data (at least here in the US on EDGE network.)

Honor 8 4g

Good evening I turn to you because I have a problem with my slot sim 2 I do not have a 4G. When I activate it I have no network. Roaming and any other settings sound activated. At least I hope so.
Although the phone tells me that the network is available, I can not call or receive calls (same for SMS). On the other hand, a priori, no problem to access the internet via 3G. When I try to call I have the following message: Mobile network not available
Help me
Have you tried any other SIM?
You need to go into your mobile network setting and Dual Sim setting to make sure Sim 2 is active.
Now if you want Sim 2 to use 4G you will have to select this in the Dual Sim setting. By default Sim 1 is the default mobile settings.
At any one time 2 sim are in the device only one will use 4G or 3G the other will use 2G.
here are the tests I made with reboot

Dual sim not working as wanted

Hello,
I use dual sim, one for job calls and second for private calls and data. I have noticed that I cant receive calls on job sim which does not have data enabled. Calls go directly to voice mail and I dont get any alarm.
I have also noticed that job sim works properly when it is set to 2g. However 2g setting always resets back to 4g after reboot.
Is there any way to force second sim to be only in 2g for calls even after reboot? I have rooted device.
Thank you

Because it is trying to use VoLTE which is using data and you don't have data enabled

Dual SIM automatic data switching

Is this possible with the OP6? I have a private SIM (SIM1) with a 10GB dataplan and a company SIM (SIM2) with a 1GB dataplan. My Sim2 is the default SIM for calling and the SIM1 is the default data SIM.
Whenever I make a call, my internet connection gets disconnected because there can only be one SIM active at a time, but I need a connection during the call so it would be very handy if the phone switches the data connection from SIM 1 to SIM 2 during the call (and back when finished).
I saw this is a feature on the Huawei P20 but did not find a setting on the OP6.
The quick tile button "switch data card" doesn't work during a call....

Having the internet cut out doesn't make sense, I have AT&T and T-Mobile with dual-4G enabled and when I have a call on SIM1, I maintain LTE on SIM2. Also check if your carrier supports VoLTE, as this will use LTE for voice and you won't lose data when calling.

I also have dual-4G enabled but the connection drops as soon as I have a call. VoLTE is not supported at all in the Netherlands on the OP6.

I too see the connection being cut when I have a call on the SIM that is not data by default... I see the data being stopped on the SIM 1 but it does not start on SIM2. In general I have to say that it seems it takes a long time for SIM2 to get data connection established when I test moving data on it. So this might be the root cause...
I have the same problem, any solution to this?

I am having the same issue with OnePlus 7T

Internet turn off when calling.

Can someone help me with this? I have two sim cards. One for calling one for internet but always it turn my internet off. I dont know how to fix it.
Because the phone is dual stand by not dual Active so when you use sim no.1 sim no.2 is off so internet is off and you can call on sim2 while speaking on sim1 it will give you a message like sim2 is closed phone number
Turn on VoLTE:
1. Dial *#*#86583#*#*
2. Enable VoLTE in SIM settings
