DSLR Controller, Transferring images - General Questions and Answers

Hello, I am so pleased to find the DSLR app for controlling my 7D and am hoping it will work with my new (Lenovo Tab 3 ) tablet which is on the way. But I have a couple questions.
1. Does the DSLR app. actually record the .cr2 files to the tablet local storage or SD storage after the capture button is pressed? Or is it for controlling only.
2. Can I use the app. to transfer existing images (that have been shot without using the DSLR controller app. but reside on the CF memory in the camera), to the tablet storage?
Thanks for any replies, can't wait to try it out.

[Q] Import video files?

I just received an OTG cable. I have a Canon camera and a stock 3.1 Xoom 3g.
When I connect them I can open the gallery and import images just fine. But, I don't see the videos that are on the camera at all.
Is there a way to import these videos?
I know that I can root, and then install a kernel with full USB access. But, short of that, is there any other way? I tried to use a file browser, but don't see the camera at all. Should it be mounted to the Xoom filesystem? I was not sure where to look, but it doesn't seem to be in /mnt.
Or is it just that the gallery app is able to "talk" to the USB, about images only, and isn't doing a mount?
In that case, is it an issue with the specific model of camera that I have, and it not being able to "talk" to the Xoom "about" videos? Only about images?
Thanks,

[Q] How to record from pc without capture card?

Hi I have a Asus tf300t tablet and I want to record and make videos of games with good quality and no lag. I don't want to use screencast or android screen recorders because they will probably lag. I read about using HDMI to get the best quality but is there a way to do it without a pc capture card? I don't want to install new hardware into my computer. I tried finding usb options and stuff but can't find any information.
Does anyone know the best way I can record high quality from my android device without a pc capture card? Like some kind of hdmi usb thing? Thanks.

Try this one : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iwobanas.screenrecorder.free&hl=nl
It records your android screen in High Quality (The users of the app says so) and store them up in your SD card, after that you could just Connect your Device to your PC and place them on your PC. (For this app your android device needs to be rooted)

[Q] USB OTG direct video saving

I'm having a similar problem to one I noticed in a different post, here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987102 . I need to save HD video to an external storage device directly, as this guy wanted to do. However, every camera app I've tried, and ursafe media director doesn't recognize my usb otg hard drive as a location. the only way I can browse it is through file manager. Any suggestions? I have a Lenovo S-3000, takes 1080p video, and I want to be able to record directly to a thumb drive with it. Thanks in advance!

Use USB webcam in any app e.g. TikTok?

Hi, I've been trying to find a way to do this on a physical device for some time now. I'm wondering if it's possible to connect a webcam to my phone via USB-C, and use it in apps such as TikTok or Snapchat? I know there's apps out there specifically to view external cameras, but I couldn't find any to use them in other apps. Root is ok.
