Hate this problem....
Have been grappling with this problem... In the end I gave up and started using Textra - this created 2 new annoyances:
1 - It doesn't appear on the always on display as a little envelope icon/badge notification when you have texts waiting
2 - You can't quickly get to a contact within the App and use the direct dial feature by lifting the phone to your head.
However Textra is amazing and it's other features have kept it as my default choice for now.
:good: :crying:
Anyone figure this out yet?

Use Renovate rom. @mwilky took the time to figure it out and it works sweet. Only one who has. And it's a great rom
Edge of insanity
I was hoping not to change ROMS. Is there a way to edit the one I'm already on?

If you use lightflow for LED control, the screen will still come on even with texta. Or any third party sms app for that matter.

So I just bought the pebble watch for my Galaxy S4. I have been hesitant because of the Samsung bug, but so far the only one I noticed was the video player bars staying there. Anyone else can tell me what this watch is capable of? Or if the issues come up on the phone with time?

I've been using one since May. The talkback bug is there on all Samsung devices but otherwise it's cool. The most usable smartwatch on the market.

I like it but I don't know if its worth the $150 iny head (personally) I want it as more of an extension of my phone rather than just read texts.
What talk back bug are you talking about? I have been trying to duplicate it and can't seem to find it

If you turn on accessibility so that you can get whatsapp messages etc on the watch, then it enables talkback

Hi!
I've been using my pebble for some time now. I don't use the talk back service, so it doesn't bother me.
I can recommend pebble notifier as well!
I doubt that the bars staying on in video player are because of the pebble, as I remember that I've had that before I even had ordered my pebble.
It has appeared once or twice after that randomly as well and disappeared.
Bout damn time... good shiz Google!
Hopefully they add quick reply/mark as read/call from notification shade as well in future updates! :fingers-crossed:

so looks like VZW has left out or over looked (not like they didnt take their time on this update) to include the required MmsService.apk
Without this some, if not a lot of third party SMS apps will not send MMS, Google's hangout and Google's messenger app for example.
By installing this, flash it, extract it, or just install the APK. (if you dont have root this is the only way) This WILL fix the issue

I bet VZW issues a small OTA to fix this...

Previews do not work for the stock HTC app. No notification card or even a preview in the status bar like on KK with HTC one.

Believe me...I do too, however with the stock sms app if a group message come in, clicking the notification take you to the individual sms thread for the person that sent the text, not the group chat, which in of itself was enough to drive me crazy.

From my understanding LP on vzw took away the ability to edit the apns which I would imagine you had to change to get all the tmo stuff working.

Oddly enough I had to set up nothing on 4.4.4, it just worked once I have it on HSPA mode instead of LTE/CDMA
I'm stock and rooted while my wife's is stock. We both upgraded to Lollipop and was/is using Textra before the upgrade and continue to use it without an issue. I've sent and received MMS without hiccups.
Are we odd ones out or is there some bug that I'm not experiencing and could possibly find a fix on my phone to share with everyone?

Now HTC has to update phone and message app for heads up notifications!! [emoji84]
The Direct Dial and Direct Message used to allow you to put a shortcut on the home screen to dial or text someone, and it set the picture for the icon as the contact picture, with one word in the bottom of the picture representing which phone (Home, Mobile, etc.)
Now it appears that functionality is gone... Is it?

If you're looking for the floating bubble, you should be able to simply swipe from the top left towards the center when you have your message app open and it should become a multi screen window. Then tap the bubble on top and minimize it and you have a floating bubble.
