[GUIDE] How to remove unnecessary icons from MIUI home screens (VirusScan, etc.)

Hi there!
Like a lot of you guys, I'm using MIUI on my Nexus S. Since I've seen so many people in the relevant forums trying to remove the Virus Scan icon form the homescreen, I decided to make a short tutorial on how to do it and how to remove other app icons.
Warning: If you want to use the apps listed below, DO NOT follow the tutorial, since the apps won't work anymore.
Warning #2: Do everything on your own risk. I'm not responsible for any data losses, damages, or bricked devices.
First of all, you're going to need ROM Toolbox Pro or Titanium Backup (or anything similar) then follow the instructions below:
Removing the VirusScan icon:
1. Open ROM Toolbox Pro and run the App Manager, then click on All apps at the top of the screen.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2. Long press on Settings and select Advanced freeze.
3. Go to the bottom of the list appeared then untick the followings:
Settings (.VirusScanActivity)
Settings (.VirusScanAppActivity)
Settings (.VirusScanService)
Removing the app startup icon:
The first step is the same as above.
2. Long press on Permission Manager and select Advanced Freeze.
3. Look for the following and untick it:
com.lbe.security.ui.AutoStartAppList
Restart your phone after finishing.
If you want to use the freezed apps again, just tick them and restart your phone.
With this method you will be able to remove the unused icons of Google Maps as well (of course those function won't work and Google Maps will FC if trying to use them - all the other functions will work though).

Remove Blotware or PreInstalled Apps from your device

Are you trying to remove preinstalled apps from your device?? Here are some tips to do the same
So before starting, what is a blotware??
In another words, pre-installed apps that are useless most of the time. There are also other downfall of bloatware. It consumes system resources, taking up storage space and RAM, running in the background without you knowing and draining up your battery.
How to remove bloatware on Android devices?.
Unfortunately, your carriers and manufacturers do not make it any easier. Normally, bloatware is hidden in system folder, which you have no permission to access.
SO how to remove them?? Lets get started
Inorder to remove the blotwares you need to download an app from the playstore. Once downloaded it,install the app.
Download the app from here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jumobile.manager.systemapp
First decide the app you want to remove

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As you can see it cant be uninstalled..
Second open your System app remover
Third, find the app and tick the checkbox corresponding to it
Now Choose the option yes when a message is displayed like this
Wait for a few second . And after a few second a message will be displayed like this.Click OK:good::good:
Follow the same steps if you have to remove multiple items..
After removing the apps restart your device.
You will be able to find the app removed from your device
PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE SYSTEM APPS., OR ANY OTHER APP REQUIRED FOR THE PROPER WORKING OF THE DEVICE
You can also try Titanium Backup for this purpose. But in my opinion System app remover is more user friendly

[GUIDE][ROOT] Enable new(-ish) YouTube UI by force

Love it or hate it, YouTube has a new UI that's rolling out
It's not a server switch as most people think - the switch is local. If you don't like the UI, usually uninstalling and reinstalling will revert it, not always though.
Anyway, if you want it to be enabled by force, here's how to do that:
Option 1: Using a GUI preferences editor such as Preferences Manager
1.) Download and open Preferences Manager
2.) Select YouTube from the list. You may need to enable "Show system apps" from the overflow menu first
3.) Select "com.google.android.libraries.innertube.pref.inner_tube_config" from the list
4.) Enter the following value, replacing the current one:
Code:

5.) Tap "Update"
6.) Force close YouTube from settings or reboot your device
Option 2: Manually
1.) Obtain or open youtube.xml from /data/data/com.google.android.youtube/shared_prefs (adb pull /data/data/com.google.android.youtube/shared_prefs/youtube.xml)
2.) Edit the file, changing the value for "com.google.android.libraries.innertube.pref.inner_tube_config" to the value from above
3.) Save and force close YouTube/reboot
Your UI should now be updated

Install firefox extension ExExceptions, you can block many content permission types per site there. I also found extension Public Fox, but blocking all downloads is rather that you don't want

To combat this issue, the best solution would be to disable the auto-update apps option in your settings. There is a chance spam files get downloaded when apps get updated. This disabling will ensure the apps do not get auto-updated. Also, you can install an add-on detector app which will alert you whenever an add-on gets automatically installed/downloaded on your phone. These add-ons have a high probability of being malware/spam. Whenever you get an alert from the add-on detector app, you can choose to either retain the add on or delete it.
Thanks for your help.
