Navigation bar won't go away - General Questions and Answers

I play Clash of Clans on my Google Nexus 10 tablet. It has always been so that the bottom navigation bar could be brought up if I swiped from top or bottom and it would go away after a couple seconds. Problem is now it comes up sometimes and it doesn't go away unless I press the back button. It drives me nuts. I am not sure what changed but how can I make it go back to the way it were?
Thank you.

LauncherPro - snap to home?

Is there a way for LauncherPro to snap back to the "center" home screen after a lock? It's leaving off where I left it and I'd really like to always land on my normal home screen. TIA.
should be fixed by going into settting and setting the default page to center or what ever number page is your center..
Maybe you can try the Launcher Pro forum

Same Question I had
That was the same question I had after the new update. As in we got optical scrolling so how about being able to push the optical d pad for home screen!
You can do this with WidgetLocker. It is a paid app, but I have it and like it a lot.
I have WidgetLocker, really like it a lot and did exactly what I'm looking for (pre-LauncherPro).
Example... if I'm on my middle home screen and swipe left, hit an icon for, say, Handcent, open a text message and type away. I then lock my screen, come back to it later and unlock. It will take me to the left screen that I left off from. If I hit the Handcent icon it will take me back into the message that I left off in.
Before I put LauncherPro on my screen I would have done the above actions but the result would be that when I unlock my phone it would always snap back to the center home screen and if I open Handcent it would always open to my list of conversations, not inside the one I left off in.
I realize both small, but I'm trying to figure out if LauncherPro is worth having as a result.
Thanks.
I notice this too. Swipe to the right, play Angry Birds for a while then hit the Home button to go back home and it takes you to the page you left, not the "Default Screen".
The "Home Key Action" setting doesn't have anything to tell it go back to the default screen, so maybe we're outta luck.

Android Chrome Easter Egg

Open Chrome.
Click on the tabs button (right next to the URL bar).
Slide your finger upwards quickly (or not) a few times (only upwards) on the tab.
First, you'll see the regular behavior, which is the tab's bottom moving towards you and its topside moving away.
Then, after doing this a few times, the tab will spin quickly backwards.
Pretty cute.
Really cute.
Tried forwards but haven't worked ''/

[Q] Silly question: Current Apps

I've googled it and got nothing.
Search this forum and not found it either
On Windows 8, if I scroll my mouse to the left/ left corner of the screen, I can see my current apps.
I can then close them.
With my keyboard connected I can do this on my surface using trackpad.
How do I do it without my keyboard connected?
I don't want to swipe them in, I want to see the icons of the apps I have running so I can close them.

Click to collapse
you have to swipe in from the left a short distance. I don't own a windows touch device but did get a go on a display model, was kinda fiddly to get the distance just right, was probably about half the distance you need to swipe to switch apps. With some practise you should be able to nail it.

There's two behaviours for a short swipe in from the left. I believe the default one is to "swipe in" the last used app. Whereas what you want is to see a list of currently running apps (me too).
Go Settings>Change PC Settings and you're looking for a setting something like "App Switching">"When I swipe in from the left edge, switch between my recent apps instead of showing a list of them". In 8.1 that setting is under PC & devices, I can't recall if it's the same in 8.
The default way to do what you're asking is to swipe in from the left edge, then swipe back to the edge without releasing the swipe. It's a very quick and easy gesture easily made with the thumb; you don't have to swipe in more than maybe 1/4 of an inch (6mm) before swiping off the screen again to get he app switcher sidebar to appear.
To close the apps using touch only, you can do the following:
Drag the app from the sidebar off the bottom of the screen.
thanks, that's great.

Youtube On screen controls won't disappear

If I'm watching a YouTube video, I have to click the small X on the bottom right for the on screen controls to go away, but they won't disappear automatically. I installed IYTPB so maybe that's why? I attached a photo. This is whether I'm in portrait or landscape view. Thanks.
I just updated from Android 7.1 to Android 8.1.1 on my Nexus 6P, and noticed this same behavior almost immediately after the upgrade. On Android 7, I don't think that little "X" button even exists in the controls.. Instead, you just tapped anywhere on the video, and the controls would instantly disappear (or simply wait a few seconds and they would disappear automatically)... Or you could do the same to bring the controls back up once they were gone. This new behavior is madness if it's intentional! Every single time I touch anything on my phone (YouTube controls or otherwise), the controls pop back up and you have to click the tiny little X button to make them go away again. It's so backwards and retarded that I simply cannot imagine that this was an intentional decision on the developer's behalf.
I checked on my bone stock Pixel2 with the June update and I'm experiencing that behavior. The on-screen controls disappear a couple of seconds after touching the screen.

[Bug Report] Pixel Pil Back Button

When hitting the back button when using the pixel style nav bar it doesn't bring you back but sometimes it bring you to the recent apps menu instead. This is how to replicate the issue:
1) Open any app and the back button will appear (using the pixel style back, home nav bar)
2) Instead of pressing precisely on the back button, press slightly to the left of it (the blank space on the left of the back button).
3) Now instead of going back it goes to the recent app menu.
I've uploaded a video of Google drive showing the issue, check here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oc_-KmvlJ45_R6jDR_it3KLXwgkmGWO9/view?usp=drivesdk
As seen in the video, I'm clearly hitting the back button but it doesn't always bring me a step back, but instead pulls up the recent app menu. And all i have to do is to just hit the left of the back button icon or hit the left corner of the nav bar. Now this is annoying cause you have to be very precise with where you press, slightly to the left of the back button and it'll trigger the recent app menu. That's ridiculously stupid and inconvenient, the entire space around the back button should be enough to toggle the back action, not just the small back icon.
Anyone else facing the same issue?
Would be great if someone from OnePlus can acknowledge this issue!
