so im not a dummy when it comes to android and odin.
i was attempting to put the phone back to stock after i misplaced it and found it again, it had been a good amount of time and i dont remember the gmail nor the passcode i used.
i followed the steps here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427268&highlight=odin+back+to+stock
and here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1340526
confirmed all the files downloaded, and unziped/installed them all.
when i would put my phone in to download mode, it worked fine with the android dude and the "download..." sign.
but when i ran odin after i put the .tar file in the PDA slot, it failed.
now when i try to get into download mode again, i get the picture i attached.
if i try and turn on my phone regularly , i get the same picture.
odin keeps failing (ive tried about 23498 times)
im stuck in a dead end, and i just wanna find my way home.
any suggestions?
Use different comp. or try redownloading the files. use different usb cord and/or port
Follow the Odin back to stock. I've had that happen to me too. Its stickied in develpment thread. Then start from their.

Just pretend that the "Firmware Encountered an Issue" screen is download mode. For all intents and purposes it is.
You can flash the Odin tar over that screen and it will work (provided that you use a good usb port and follow instructions...)
Same issue... Please help!
I have the same screen and cannot access anything on my phone except I can power on and off. I was upgrading to a updated firmware through kies, now when I go torecovery mode in kies there is nothing to select. I am hoping someone has found a solution and will share that with me, AT&T had no clue. Thank you!

go through the odin troubleshooting steps in the second link in my sig first
1. which odin are u using, should be 1.85, redownload again
2. redownload the firmware tar again and flash again, if both of these steps fail then
3. flash a custom recovery w/odin(follow instructions on 3rd link in my sig) then flash a cwm flashable stock firmware, link are in the dl section in the first and second link in my sig
if all that fails then it sounds like you have a corrupted efs, emmc or nand partition the same as this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751338
possible fix Using loop devices to workaround corrupt eMMC partitions or this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1611796
if still under warranty get it fixed

seems like the old stuff people find are fracking up the efs, emmc or nand partition, or newbs are doing something wrong

Just saved me a nights sleep. Read this last night at 5am thinking I had bricked my friends galaxy. You gave me hope!
I have a Samsung galaxy S I9003 (Not SL) bought and used in India. This device was bought in October 2011. Since then, I have neither been able to update OS nor upgrade. Kies has never allowed me to update the firmware. It keeps crashing. After every few months I have tried installing the latest KIES versions. Every single time there is some or the other issue. Either KIES hangs or crashes. Doesn't let me upgrade. As of today, it is showing me
Current firmware version : PDA:KF1 / PHONE:KC1 / CSC:KA6 (INU)
Latest firmware version : PDA:LF2 / PHONE:LE1 / CSC:LF2 (INU)
Neither does the software update option work on the phone. If I click on "Check for Update" it gives the error "connection failed". I've tried this over wifi as well as via data network mode.
What are my options of upgrading the OS ? I am basically a non-techy when it comes to tweaking with the phone software. Is it advisable to manually upgrade ?
I have downloaded the following from SamMobile Firmware page
PDA: I9003DDLF2
CSC: I9003ODDLF2
Version: 2.3.6
Date: 2012-06-22
Regions: India
Is this the right version for me to install ?
You have downloaded the correct firmware.just follow steps here.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14933114
"...The child is grown, the dream is gone..." - Pink Floyd.
I'd advise you to flash xxkpe first (using 5 files from the link loneagl provided) .. and then flash ddlf2.
Let me know if you need very detailed steps ... i can find them out from my old posts and provide them.

yes please if you can provide me with the steps...that would be very nice !!

Downloads
=========
First download xxkpe firmware package from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1004647
Also download ddlf2 firmware from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1741370
Plus download DDLF2_CFROOT-05-07-2012.tar from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331253
=========
Guides
=========
1) Read and follow instructions to flash xxkpe using odin from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133787
2) Repeat steps starting from 9 again.
3) Turn on the phone and make sure its working fine
4) Go back to download mode and flash ddlf2 also using odin exe (provided in xxkpe package)
5) Go back to download mode and flash cf-root for ddlf2 again using odin
6) Turn on the phone and make sure its working fine
========
Hope this helps. :good:
Thanks ! I am downloading the files as I type.
Just so i understand...Your point # 2 says "Repeat steps starting from 9 again". This is for flashing the firmware XXKPE for the second time. Correct ? So basically from your guides, points 1 - 3 will ensure that i have installed XXKPE correctly, Am I right ? And once I have installed XXKPE and made sure that the phone is working fine, I go to download mode again and execute steps 4 and 5. Am I correct ?
And for all this I use Odin3 V1.83 . There's a higher version Odin3 3.04 which I will not use because the instructions in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133787 call for the use of V. 1.83 for installing XXKPE. Correct ?
Yes. Use odin.exe supplied in xxkpe zip file. Repeat step#9 as mentioned in xxkpe guide.
how much is the probability that my phone will become a brick?
I've done this about 100 times ... others have done more than me .. no bricks yet ... so it's very unlikely ... but possible.

Alright, let's see !!
All the best. I'm sure you'll be fine.
Ok.. so I went up to the 15th step as you can see the screenshot in the attachment. Odin showed "pass"
After that the Download Mode has gone and the system rebooted. I am now seeing Samsung Galgxy S screen. But the system is not moving beyond the front screen...why ?
How do you do the 16th step without getting into the Settings - Privacy - Restore Factory Settings option.. ?
My phone is still connected to computer via USB...
-----------------
1. Firstly, Download the link from Krazzy's stock firmware thread.
2. Run Odin3 v1.83
3. Check Re-Partition, Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time.
4. Click PIT button and select this file: latona_20110114.pit
5. Set it to download mode : Press Volume down + OK first, then hold Power button.
6. Connect USB cable and the program will detect the phone's Com number.
7. Click Start button to download the PIT file to phone.
8. After it is Done Click on Reset button [Partition box should be unchecked automatically - Thanks to jaskir]
9. Click PDA button and select this file: CODE_I9003XXKPE_CL409735_REV08_user_low_ship.tar
10. Click PHONE button and select this file: MODEM_I9003XXKPE_REV_00_CL1041909.tar
11. Click BOOTLOADER button and select this file: APBOOT_I9003XXKPE_CL409735_REV08_user_low_ship.tar
12. Click CSC button and select this file: GT-I9003-CSC-MULTI-OXAKPE.tar
13: You should unplug usb cable, remove battery, insert battery and bring it back to download mode. I have never been able to bring it to download mode with usb plugged in. [Thanks to jaskir for this suggestion to make it clear to new users!]
14. Click Start button to flash these files to phone.
15. Do not touch anything till you see PASS on the program window.
16. Factory reset
^ Why do you have filename starting with "AP" selected for PDA file? It should start with "CODE".
Ok..that was a mistake. I had mixed up the files. So I changed them back...and now I am getting stuck at the following point

OK..so I rebooted the system and tried again. it worked. finally I am on XXKPE. :highfive:
Now moving on as per your guide,
Steps # 4: Go back to download mode and flash ddlf2 also using odin exe (provided in xxkpe package)
Questions:
1) In Odin, should I click the PDA button and select the "I9003DDLF2_I9003ODDLF2_I9003DDLE1_HOME.tar.md5" ? And leave other options blank - Bootloader, Phone and CSC ?
2) Which of these options should I check : Re-Partition, Auto Reboot, F. Reset Time ?
Steps # 5: Go back to download mode and flash cf-root for ddlf2 again using odin
Here the file is: DDLF2_CFROOT-05-07-2012
How do I install this using the same Odin ?
Thanks a lot till now..it's working
Turn on Odin >> Click Reset to make sure you didnt click anything else by mistake >> click on PDA button >> select the ddlf2 file >> make sure phone is connected and com port is yellow >> click on Start >> cross your fingers >> Njoy DDLF2
Do the same for any future *.tar file (firmware or kernel) that you plan to flash.
Hi. Recently I bought a second-hand Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8000. After receiving it I discovered it was rooted. I wasn't too happy having an already rooted device, being completely new to rooting. I thought that if I'd have a rooted device, I'd root it myself and make sure I knew exactly what was going on with it. So I tried unrooting it by installing the stock firmware using Odin. However, I forgot to enable USB debugging. Now the tablet is stuck on a screen which says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
The issue is that Kies doesn't detect my device when trying the emergency firmware recovery mode. Every time I use Odin it simply fails. The device can still go into download mode, but not recovery mode. So the only thing I can think of doing now is the trick of removing the battery to then forcing it to start in recovery mode after reinserting the battery. However I don't have the tools to do this. The only alternate way I can think of is to wait a few days for the tablet to die, then making sure I've got the buttons held down to make it start in recovery mode before I plug in the charger.
Are there any other solutions you guys can think of?
I would use ODIN to flash a custom recovery, then use that recovery to flash a stock, rooted ROM.
Sent from my GT-N8013 using Tapatalk
something doesnt sound right....u should b able to installa stock firmware if u can access the download mode.....my bet is u do not have the correct drivers installed or ur using the wrong firmware file......
The battery thing didn't work.
Also flashing doesn't seem to be a possibility. Every time I use Odin, no matter what I'm flashing, even if I've successfully flashed it before, it always fails. Does this eliminate the possibility of some sort of samsung store repairing it?
As long as they can't get to the download mode screen where it shows if the system has been altered, they can't tell if you have voided your warranty...

Originaly, my gt-n8000 suddenly hanged by it self, it got stuck in the 'samsung galaxy note 10.1' logo, no recovery mode, only odin mode, kies can't also detect my tablet. Someone told me that probably it is because of the auto update, there might be an interruption. So i decided to try reflashing stock firmware hoping it will be fix. But after several fail to reflash, the screen got change change from 'samsung galaxy note 10.1' to 'Firmware upgrade encounter an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & Try again'(this time odin could detect my tablet without going to odin mode) ... and then finally I was able to successfully flash a stock, but nothing change on the condition of my gt-n8000, still got stuck with 'Firmware upgrade encounter an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & Try again' screen, no recovery, only odin mode, still kies cannot detect it.
please i need help.....after upgrading my custom recovery using odin.......thats the cwm....the phone rebooted but when i tried going into recovery mode still is not changed still showing the old android recovery system thing.....the custom recovery is not updated tried flashing it several times with odin but still no upgrade, and my note gt n8000 is rooted...please whats wrong i need it to be upgraded, how do i go about it

is there any solution for this problem?
My samsung tab 7.7 got stuck at samsung logo.
I had download latest firmware and software Odin3 v3.09 from official sammobile website.
Once I try to flash the latest firmware (P6800DXMD3_P6800OLBMD3_XME) using Odin3 v3.09, the message 'complete (write) operation failed' appear (see the attachment).
I also try to flash with previous firmware (P6800DXLP8_P6800OLBLP7_XME) but failed.
I had remove the battery cable and reconnect, flash again also failed.
Can anybody help me to solve this problems.
Is it firmware or hardware problems?
I'm facing the same problem only in my condition its a Galaxy Tab 7.0 P3100, and my aunt was watching some movie and listening to some music and suddenly it started rebooted. So i try to flash and it was stuck in the same screen as above posted. Odin stopped at the "NAND Write" part. I waited for 20 mins or so but it wasn't progressing so closed the Odin (I know its my stupidity).
And now it is showing Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again with a BIG YELLOW TRIANGLE in the center.
Now neither I can't turn it off nor take it to download mode or anything. Even though i hold down the power button, It goes back to the last screen.
Please Help !!!
Any kind of help is appreciated.

I'm no expert for all these kinds of matter, but I just resolved my problem. You can visit this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2382750 :fingers-crossed::good::laugh:
Code:
* Your warranty is now void.
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD Cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed.
* Please do some research if you have any concerns about this kernel before following it!
* YOU are choosing to make these modifications.
* And if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
I have seen people hunting for this and not being able to finding a solution for this. So, I decided to post here!
This is Strictly for Samsung Devices.
So, First let us get some terms straight.
IMEI
A unique identification number programmed onto your phone. It is required in order to be correctly identified on a mobile network. Without one, you cannot make calls, send SMS or use mobile data. Important stuff.
/efs
A partition on your internal memory containing important data including the IMEI. If the data in this partition gets corrupt, you will lose your IMEI
0049*** or 0000 IMEI
A generic IMEI, meaning your real IMEI is not readable, presumably because it is corrupt but there are other reasons too.
Now, Some FAQ's
Why Do I have 0000 IMEI?
Your EFS Partition is Corrupted.
Whenever you flash a ROM, be that a custom ROM via a custom recovery or an official ROM via Odin, you risk corrupting your /efs partition and losing your IMEI.
There are 2 main steps to take to try to resolve this
Restore your EFS from a backup - A logical first step
No backup? Reflash the latest stock ROM using Odin Or Read This Guide
Why Does my Internal SD Card Show 0 bytes?
Your EFS Partition is Corrupted.
This is the same reason
Your SDCard Partition may be linked somehow with the EFS Partition
Why Does my Lockscreen Does Not Work?
Your EFS Partition is Corrupted.
This is the same reason
The Files needed to run the lockscreen are stored in the EFS Partition
Hence, You Cant use your lockscreen.
OK, So How do I restore /efs if I dont have a Backup?
Download EFS-Fix-regalstreak.tar.md5
Put your phone in Download Mode (Volume down + Home + Power buttons simultaneously)
Switch Off your Phone
Press Volume Up to continue when asked
Download Odin.zip on your PC
Extract Odin.zip with Winrar and open Odin.exe file (the file with a blue icon)
Connect Phone to PC with USB Cable
Wait for some 15 seconds and see if COM(number) port has come in Blue colour
Select PDA and browse to EFS-Fix-regalstreak.tar.md5
Click the Flash button
Wait for it to show RESET in blue colour
After it shows Reset Disconnect phone from PC by removing USB Cable
Remove Battery of Phone
Insert Battery of phone
Reboot the phone
After phone reboots, Again switch off the phone
Once again Start the phone.
If It Works, Enjoy!
If it does not work, Again reboot the phone!
Enjoy!
If it still does not work, Feel free to contact me!
What will this do?This will Simply Restore your IMEI and the EFS Files! But, These files are from my phone And the IMEI may be different from your original IMEI.
OK, So what now?You can maybe change your IMEI. But as this illegal in some countries, I cant give the procedure here. But You can go Here!
Please press the thanks button if I helped
More to be added. Stay tuned Gonna add how to backup efs if you havnt lost it yet
