Is there a way to update rom without wiping data?
or a best way to backup/restore?
Installing all the apps, and checking everything else if they are correct is time consuming
Use Sprite Backup or MyBackupPro to backup your personal settings (sms call logs etc)
Use titanium backup to backup all you apps+appdata.
ok thanks.

Titanium backup: which file hold wifi passwords?

My phone seems to be getting very slow after flashing a few roms and restoring apps and system data with TiB, even after using oden. I want to reflash again but this time restore the bare minimum of system data. I have figured out where all of that data is, except for wifi passwords. Does anyone know what system data file holds it?
It's called Wi-Fi Access Points, I also load the bare minimum when flashing ROMs. So I backup my SMSs and APNs as well with apps SMS & APN Backup and Restore respectively.
Thanks. I don't know how I missed that.

Function of the features in advance restore???

Hello, today, I restore my phone from a Nandroid backup for some reason and I decide to go for advance restore. However, there are lots of restore options that allow me to choose and even that I try them each to see what will restore, I am still not certain in regard to the role of each.
Here is my assumption and observation;
- restore data: restore all my apps data including homescreen layout and data of each app?
- restore boot: no idea (I though that it was the bootanimation, but it wasn't)
- restore system: restore system apps, everything in the root, all mods and system setting?
- restore cache: no idea
-restore sd-ext: restore my external sdcard (but I am restoring it from my ext sd, so what is the purpose of this?)
Please correct me and add more information. Thanks.

Is it possible to create a system backup with all data & settings?

Hey everyone,
I've recently had to reflash my phone twice because touch would stop responding in system (it would work in recovery). I am wondering if it's possible to create a nandroid backup of my whole system + settings & data, so if it happens again that I can just restore it to that backup? It gets frustrating to install all the apps all over again and to change settings.
Basically, I want to save/backup the current state of my phone so I can restore it later with the same data it has right now.

Has anyone used to app Tipatch to restore data in twrp?

Hello all I came across this interesting app in the xda labs/ apps section. It's called Tipatch. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the apps objective is to patch twrp to let you backup and restore data from the internal storage? I used the app and patched twrp as instructed, created a backup in twrp including data, and everything was successful. Now I was wondering if anyone else has had success in restoring data? Thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated
