Google Music Track order??!! - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

How the hell do you make the most recent added tracks on Google Music appear at the top so you don't have to scroll thru your whole damn bloody playlist to get to the track you just added?
WTF

Excellent question. Hopefully someone has the answer. My guess is that you cannot. It takes forever to just find the albums you own. The search feature does not list the albums in your library on the first page of search results if you have multiple albums by the same artist. It first finds the artist, the radio stations, and videos. You need to go into the artist, then scroll down to find the albums in your library. Such a waste of time.
The "New" play music versions have been horrible since the update after 4.1.513, when Google started really pushing their "unlimited' streaming service. Nothing is intuitive about the newer versions. I really hate the first row of "It's Monday today, play something for..." WTF is that? Try playing an album - in proper track order - with the new version... What a pain. NOT driving friendly. Sure, I can now say, "Ok Google, play xyz by abc" and sometimes the right album will play, but often in the wrong track order. More often it isn't what I wanted from my library. Seriously irritating..
My last (rooted) phone had 4.1.513 installed, and only that version. Thankfully, I had a TB backup when the crap updates started. If we can ever properly root the Qualcomm s7, I am hopeful that 4.1.513 will install OK on Marshmallow... Then again, the likelihood of rooting the US S7's seems to be dwindling each day. Very depressing.
Se, with our shiny new s7s, we are stuck with the latest crappy Play Music version. I really miss the Recently Played "flip" screen with the album covers. So intuitive. So long gone.

Google Music Question

I'm becoming extremely frustrated with Google Music. I realize it is early, but it seems to be slow, and the UI on my netbook on the actual website is straight up horrific. There are two things i wish to do as of right now, one being if i add a song to music.google.com and it syncs to my phone, i want it to automatically be able to go to "available offline" rather than going through and finding it. Second, i wish there was just a folder like the folder for itunes "automatically add to itunes", only for Google music. This would be of great convenience considering my Google Music syncs with Itunes correctly about half the time... Sorry for the long rant...

Can Android v4.0 play albums??? because android 2.2 cant

I have 473829 'albums' on my phone because i play 'albums' all the time
bought 2 'albums' this week
Just noticed that my android 2.2 can't play albums in order????????
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!
It doesn't even acknowledge 'tracks' or 'track order' - so it just plays the track in alphabetical order!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whats all that about?????
Some moron has sat down and spent maybe a month designing a media player - played an album in ALPHABETICAL ORDER and thought - great that it!
I cant beleive it
Last phone I had, that did this was LG i bought in 1980 sumink and even that was updated/corrected within few months
I'm gob smacked that you can buy a phone in 2012 that does not know how to play an album
I supose as well as the morons that designed it, most kids today dont know what an album is so wouldn't know any better
but it like watching a movie with all the scenes payed in alphabetical order instead of the proper order
I wondered why people pay £500 for iphone and starting to see why
Its a mistake only a total moron could make - prolly the same guy that decided to make sure you are wide awake to operate the 'snooze' function
I mean - the designer must have had 100000000's of opportunities to put it right and totally failed to even notice this blunder - which doesn't look good for the future but i have to ask
Can Android v4.0 play albums??? because android 2.2 cant
Music is a deal breaker for me so it might have to be iphone for me
I'm guessing you're using the stock Android music player(is that Google music)?
Well something the iPhone can't do is let you change the default music player, so just because the player it came with doesn't mean it can't be replaced.
Some of the popular music players are poweramp, playerpro, mixzing, doubletwist, cloudskipper, and Google play music

This has nothing to do with what Android version you're on and everything to do with what music player you choose to use. There's a ton of them out there, find one that has the features you want. I'm using a Sony built one called Walkman, it's the shiz.

And this part leads me to believe you are a total douchebag not willing to do a tiny bit of research before blasting an entire OS. So disregard what I said before, buy an iPhone, please. You'll fit in well.
Playlist Manager app to play albums
this will do it for you
visit the Google store ands search for Playlist Manager by THEOKLINK
it has a nice feature of selecting whole albums randomly.

[4.0+][APP]Jams Music Player is out! Brings GMusic support and other unique features!

Hey there!
I posted about my new (paid/trialware) music player way back in August and asked for beta testers here on XDA. The response was tremendous and I was able to rake up a few hundred testers within a couple of days. Thanks to their bug reports and feedback, I'm happy to say that Jams Music Player is now available on the Play Store!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jams.music.player
Here's a quick imgur album that shows a few prominent screens from the app:
http://imgur.com/a/Bgk0b#0
Aaaand here's the main feature list:
Supports all the formats supported by Android (mp3, FLAC, AAC, ogg, etc.)
Unofficial GMusic support (thanks Simon Weber!). All Access isn't available, I'm pretty sure the big record companies won't take it too well if I put it in. If you have your personal music collection uploaded onto Google though, this app can handle it
Limit your music library down to specific folders on your SD card (you can pick as many folders as you want).
Organize your entire music collection into smaller sub-libraries. (Take a look at the imgur screenshot(s) to get a gist of what I mean).
Individual equalizer settings for each song. Say you set Song A to Pop and Song B to Rock. When you play Song A, Jams will automatically switch the equalizer to Pop. If you play Song B, Jams will switch to Rock. You can also batch apply equalizer settings to multiple songs by artist, album and genre.
The homscreen widget displays your current queue so you can easily browse through it without opening the app.
A-B Repeat mode. You can repeat a specific range of a song from point A to point B.
Displays embedded lyrics. I don't think I'll be adding lyrics from the Internet after what Sony did last summer to another music player.
Sort by album artist! This is for those of you who have large compilation albums.
Full blown file manager with copy, paste, move and delete functions.
Blacklist tracks, artists, and albums. This allows you to exclude individual tracks from your library without actually deleting the files.
Smart playlists (Top 25 Played Tracks, Top Rated, Recently Added, and Recently Played).
ID3 tag editor.
Crossfade.
Gapless playback.
Automatically fetches album art from the internet.
Customize the app with 4 different application themes and 9 different player colors.
Enqueue support with reorder, swipe to remove from queue, the basic stuff.
Scrobbling support.
Coming soon:
Tablet layout (ETA about a week).
Import/Export M3U playlists.
Any other feature requests you guys may have.
The app comes with a 7 day full-featured trial. After that, you'll be asked to upgrade to the full version for $2.99. I'm aiming to keep it priced that way so that it's cheaper than PowerAMP and other top players, while offering the same (or even more) number of features.
Got questions? Suggestions? Comments? Let me know below! Or you can email me at [email protected].
Looks good. I own PowerAmp but rarely use it, and I have stuff on Google Music, but despise the app. It's too busy. I'll give this a shot.
Cool, let me know how it goes! I'm open to suggestions, so feel free to throw whatever you've got, at me.
Holly crap, this is amazing!
Sadly it crashed as soon as i tried to connect my Google Music account, and also swipe gestures don't seem to work on Now Playing screen :\
Other than that, my favourite music app, will be glad to buy!
Using Moto G 8GB with Android 4.3. Using Xthemer via Xposed Modules and Meenova for external SD card reading (not sure if these facts can influence app behaviour)

Could you send me a crash report? That'll help me fix the issue and I'll have an update rolled out by tonight. Glad you like it! Also, make sure that the queue/playlist you picked has more than one song. If it doesn't, then the swiping controls won't work.

Just cleaned App data and started over. And it works just fine
About the swiping controls, yeah, i was listening to one unique song, so it was not supposed to work
Just noticed that the notification on the notification drawer is cutted when it's size is only 1 row (when it's not the top notification). Luckily it always manages to be the top notification, so i suppose this was intended
Suggestion: add button to show a list with the next tracks in the queue (maybe replace the equalized button since it's not used that often?) List would appear as the menu on the main screen (in the left side) and maybe you could change track positions in the queue!

Ooohh shoot, I forgot to add a helper overlay about the queue part... Just rotate your device to landscape mode. This will take you to your current queue. Will add a helper overlay for this in tonight's update.
This app has virtually i would want in a Music Player.
I'll keep on testing it through the 7day trial, but i'm probably going to buy it anyway.
I just hope this gets the deserved attention.

Hi there! Which version of the app are you using? The current one is v1.4.2, but I'm on track to releasing v2.0 tonight with support for tablets and batch playlist creation. When the app crashes, you should get a message saying something like "Unfortunately, Jams has stopped working". There should be two buttons, "Report" and "Close". Tap on "Report" and that will send me the crash log. Thanks for your interest!
Version 1.4.2
Just sent the report!
Either way, buying the app today 4 sure!

Awesome app, more languages would be nice. Also editing Play Music tags. Sent you an email referring German translation.

Yea it was me will update asap :good::good::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
This app looks promising but there are some issues that prevent me from using it as my primary media player.
It does not recognize the tags on any of the MP3 files in my library, my AAC and FLAC files are recognized properly, but not my MP3s.
Scrolling is slow and jittery because it appears to be reloading the album art each time you scroll by each album or artist. Caching should fix this.
There is no ReplayGain support. Not a bug per-say, but I can't go without it.
Also, it would nice if there was a third album art display mode where it displayed the album art as large as possible without any cropping but that is hardly necessary.
Do as you wish with these suggestions. There is some very good work so far and I am glad there is proper album artist support. I'm interested to see how this app progresses.
Seconding the laggy scrolling but in sure you're already aware of it. Caching like like the best fix. Possibly a low memory view with no album/artist art also? It's up to you. So far that's my only initial big report.
Looks awesome mate!

Google now launcher question

So I have a very stupid question / possible coincidence. I've had this come up once or twice already. Since obviously the Google now launcher does the okay Google hot word, is it also possible for it to identify music as well as the hot word automatically? In both previous cases I was listening to music on another device but had my phone on the home screen. When I go into google play music it has recommendations at the top based on said music I was listening to despite me not listening to that music in play music for a few days. Is this just a coincidence? My odd imagination? I just find it really weird.
Thanks.
P.S. I should clarify that by other device I mean the factory no frills radio in my car.

It's probably just using the information from your last visit to the Play store. If you think about apps's that are made for recognising music songs, doing something like this via a Google search bar it would make the app rather large? I'm sure it's a small file size?
I might be wrong, but I'm guessing it's just remembered from the last time you used Play store, it could be coincidence if you listen to popular songs.
Tapatalk (application) is an android app that allows you to connect at several forum sites. It combines data and it is used by many users because they can switch forums very easily.

Apologies for the delay. Yeah, I guess it is a coincidence. I tried today to trigger it intentionally but didn't get it to happen this time. Just seemed odd though the first time around. Odd in a good way, anyways. I happen to like all the Google smarts and integration rather than fear it, personally. Not enough hours in the day these days to accomplish everything so the more assistance I can get, the better.
Thanks again for the response.
Hi, as yo can see, this will be my first post so......be gentle.
About you question, i think that the suggetions come from the info that you music player gather about the music you listen to, you can see if your music player "sees" what are you listening in senttings>apps> -your music player- >permissions.
I hope that you found this helpful. =D

[Q] Music disappearing from Google Music

Hi all!
I noticed a few times these years (or whatever the time I've using Google Play Music All Access) that from time to time music disappears from the catalogue, or just change the name of the album…etc, so it doesn't appear in My Library anymore.
I noticed yesterday that the album “OneRupublic – Native” was no longer in my library and in Google Play, however today appeared a new “version”, with the cover in a different color and a few more bonus songs.
As a consequence, I lost songs from my library that I had to add again, lost “favorite” tracks without notice and also play counts.
I think it should be a work around for this. I noticed this a few times, when I initially thought “Oh, I thought I had added that album to my library…” when I actually had added it but it had disappeared because of this. Also I wasn't notified.
Have you ever noticed this too?
Yes, definitely.
I live in Italy, and sometimes an album just disappears: it occurred just the other day with "Feast" by Annihilator.
Or, a couple of months ago, with "Albatross" by Big Wreck. At first it's just two or three songs, and then the whole album is gone.
That's annoying :/
I suppose it's just the record labels re-arranging their catalouge, or international music copyright... I don't know actually, but what can we do?
