Bike g? If you are taking about moto g, then few people have reported that the led turns on if the phone battery has completely died and the phone has been put on charge.

Where is this setting located? Can't find it in battery, notification or display settings. Not sure where else it would be

No its not there on stock 6.0
No big deal though, the white cord sticking out of its butt is a good enough indication in most cases

Have a LED anywhere?
Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
Apparently there's an LED that only lights when the battery is too low to power up. I've never seen it.

if you have to have it (I like the active notifications better), you can use the xposed module Gravity Box to cause the buttons to flash with notifications. I'm sure there's other options that do the same though, but you run the risk of losing battery a lot faster (hence the purpose of active notifications)
There's an led on the back that's used with the camera....

I like this answer, and I appreciate it. I also like the fact that you were not rude even though you were really thinking deep down inside that I was too ****ing stupid to know that there was an LED on the back for the camera. :sly:

Help with camera apps

Hello, i just got the moto G 3rd 2015 and i noticed 2 things:
first on the motorola camera i dont have night mode (all the reviews say that there's one)
second on applications like FV-5 the iso is locked and i can't setup some other options, is a restriction?
If i remember correctly it isn't called night mode in the settings but low light.

what phone model/Android build are you on?
Xt1541 16/2gb - LPI23.72-33
23.31.33.osprey_reteu_2gb.reteu.en.EU retgb
Indian Handset
NIGHT MODE - Cresent Moon icon
With out Night mode ||| with night mode
During Normal Light
My version is 23.36.3.osprey_retus.retus.en.US and I definitely don't have night mode in my settings.

If you look in the general thread you'll see that someone in India is reporting that their phone is getting an ota update with stage fright patch that includes the night mode on the camera also. I guess that will make it to the U.S. eventually. My 8/1gb does not have this mode yet.
Mine is a month old. It has the night mode. Although I am from India, I haven't got any system updates.

Hidden LED

So, just like all the previous Moto phones, this one has a hidden LED too!
Using root and any kernel tweaker with an option to adjust leds, you can switch it on. It seems to be only white as far as I could tell but it's there! (In the middle of the speaker grill on top)

Which kernel tweaker. Kernel auditor doesn't do this. Unless I missed it.

Anyway to make it work with or without moto display, it would be sweet to have a notification LED on this phone
what is the hidden LED normally for on the other motos?

Usually to indicate the phone is charging when it gets plugged in from a completely dead state, before it even powers on the screen

I found the setting in trickster mod, but it only turns it on when charging. Will we be able to use it for notifications?
Assume that LiteFlow would work (paid version) as it does with Nexus 6. Give that a try.

I remember this app on og nexus from 2012. You think turning it into notification led would work ?

Hopefully LightFlow would work, I have enjoyed that app for years on my OG Droid.

It has for other Moto devices so I assume so. I'm not personally interested enough to pay for the app to find out though, sorry.

I guess one could buy it, try it real quick, and if it does not work, get a refund within the allotted time Google Play gives you.
How bright is the LED? It might not be useful because of the front flash unless it's a dim light. From the picture it seems bright though.

The Flash is just an LED anyway, so there would just be a second LED on the front.

Missing in MM update?

So after updating to MM i noticed that
1. I can't turn off the camera sound
2. When mobile data is activated I can't see the small H or E etc anymore.
Whats up with that?
Maybe just the cleaner design of the new os ?
Maybe they turned on the camera sound default because in some countries it is actually illegal to have the camera shutter sound off !
