Hello! I did all the steps too Root my OnePlusOne but, when I use Root Checker it says I don't have root access. SuperSU pops up with this message when I try to launch it. "There is not SU Binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!" Then backs out of the app. Another weird glitch is when I try to Boot into recovery it shows the TWRP logo and then the phone goes dark and repeats that until I manually turn it off. Is there anyway to fix this? Now I can't access TWRP's custom recovery anymore. I am currently on Cyanogen OS version 12.1.1-YOG7DAS2K1. Fairly new to Rooting so any info appreciated!
There are many root toolkits for oneplus, Google them& download software on pc, follow the steps over there, since u r new to it better check youtube videos its not tough to root but make sure to backup data. Still if u need detailed guide whatsapme @+919966067760

Hello all, I've been trying to root my Nexus 1 for a Cyanogen ROM install for the past 2 days now. However, I've been having some issues.
First, I've been the following guide to help me through the process:
wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Nexus_One:_Full_Update_Guide
Currently, I have successfully unlocked the bootloader but I'm having problems with the custom recovery image. Using Amon_Ra's Recovery v2.0.0, I'm able to tell my phone via fastboot to install it on my phone. When I put in the command:
fastboot flash recovery /path/to/recovery-RA-nexus-v2.0.0-cyan.img
I get messages that convey success but then when I try to start my phone in recovery mode it is still running the stock recovery. The same thing happens with the ClockworkMod recovery if I try to install it using the fastboot method. If I attempt to go through the ROM Manager method, I do not get asked about superuser permissions and instead I get the message:
"An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands!"
Obviously I'm lacking some superuser privileges that are necessary to play with the recovery, but I do not know how else to grant myself these privileges. Obviously I cannot go ahead with flashing the radio and the ROM until this problem is solved, but I have no idea how to proceed. This is my first time rooting a phone so I'm quite new at this, but so far I have followed the instructions to the t.
I'm looking forward to some good advice, thanks!
Ilya
Your phone is not rooted thats the reason you dont have permission to add the custom recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Nexus_One/Guides_&_Tutorials#Root
have a look here
Basically I followed a guide on here before to root my phone with the simple procedure:-
1. Unlock bootloader at HTCDev
2. Install clockwork mod via fastboot recovery custom_recovery.img
3. Install zip from SD card using CWM (root.zip - includes all root items)
4. Update Superuser via PlayStore
These are the steps I followed when I first rooted my phone, however after a while my link2d and something else was causing my apps to crash, and eventually link2sd kept asking for root permission, and superuser would freeze. For about 7 hours last night I spend trying to fix my phone, which I did by doing a factory reset, then restored my stock ROM using CWM, then loading up a stock recovery.img file which I found on here somewhere, and then eventually I got my phone back to normal. By the way when you go through the bootloader and select recovery, when I get onto it, it justs sits there with a disk icon and a red 'X' or something, is this normal? However, want really p***ed me off was that I thought restoring a backup using CWM also restores the recovery and completely removes the CWM. My question is, instead of me going through all this hassle, is there a way I can FULLY backup my phone and then attempt a root without CWM or any other custom recovery? I have already tried the HTC super tool v3, superoneclickroot and another quick root that was advertised on here, and neither of them work.
My outcome would be to simply have root privileges on the stock ROM on my HTC Wildfire S (S-ON) 2.26.401.3, and if and have a full backup of the phone as though it was new (no root, no CWM etc.) and if a problem occurs I can simply restore everything.
As title says... I had unlocked bootloader and flashed TWRP then SuperSU and ROOT was working fine.
- Last OTA I got which was yesterday (as only just got the phone) was XNPH33R.
- I used TWRP to install the update which went fine except I lost ROOT access.
- Went back to TWRP and reinstalled SuperSU which shows as installed on my phone - however no apps that require ROOT can get ROOT access and RootChecker shows that the phone is not rooted.
- Rebooted to System / Tried to Fix Permissions / Tried to reinstall newest SuperSU - nothing works
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can regain ROOT or is not possible on XNPH33R?
Further issues I have now got no ADB access in Fastboot no matter what drivers I install... don't know if this is all linked!!!
Jesus christ
Any help appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Too much work if you do a full wipe and re rooted ?
Also try to put zip file with airdroid and flash it in download mode
So I've found out that although adb was telling me that it couldn't recognise any devices in fastboot mode - all the actual commands from the OnePlus One toolbox were actually getting through as I relocked my Bootloader to see what would happen and then tried to Flash Recovery and it told me Bootloader was locked - so that confirmed adb commands were working.
To solve my ROOT problem I did the following:
1) Flashed CM XNPH22R
2) Installed all OTA updates
3) Unlocked Bootloader
4) Installed TWRP - then chose REBOOT TO SYSTEM (this told me I wasn't rooted and then followed prompts)
5) I chose to install SuperSU from Play Store
6) Opened SuperSU and updated binaries
7) Turned off Update CM Recovery in Developer Options
8) Rebooted and installed and ran Root Checker....
9) Success!
Remove the respect CM root settings from the SU settings menu and your root will come back i had the same problem until i found this out.

I assumed it should be on because it's CM right!!! Doh!
Oh well - this might help someone else...
Device : Nexus 5
Premise: Not able to root using SuperSU
OS: 5.0 build: LRX21O
1. I flashed my Nexus 5 with the factory image of the above build.
2. Boot loader unlocked
3. Custom recovery installed(CWM)
4. Tried flashing SuperSU 2.16
-While rebooting, I got the error "Root privileges might be lost"
- Clicked fix
5. But, rooting didn't come through.
6. SuperSU says "There are no binaries and it can't install"
Any fixes? Please help. This is getting on my nerves.
PS : I don't wanna use CFAR coz it will erase everything even though the boot loader is unlocked. I don't want to lose any data.
Try this
this software is Vroot and do root even on toasters XD
kingo install root to manage root. and also makes root on any device
go to google and type Vroot. and a program with a click does it all installs drivers
Recently I was on the hunt for a root method for this particular device but was unable to find any clear instructions, so I thought I would make my own!
All downloads linked below
1. Download and install Kingroot and TWRP. Download SuperSU as well.
2. Open and run Kingroot. You may have to run it several times. It took my 5 tries before it worked.
3. Open TWRP and select install recovery, grant access via Kinguser, and you should see a "Success" message pop up.
4. Reboot into TWRP.
5. Make a backup in TWRP just in case.
6. Flash the previously downloaded SuperSU.zip
7. ??????
8. Profit!
Additionally, you can uninstall Kingroot, KInguser, and Purify with something like Titanium Backup.
Downloads!
Get 'em while they're hot!
Anybody tried this?

I just did today.
Will it stop it from working if I updated to 5.1 ?
loss of root after reboot
when i first tried this i was able to get root, but after i installed su in twrp and reboot i no longer had root. I tried playing around with a few different things, with no luck. Now I can't even get the kingroot app to successfully root my phone, it keeps rebooting then says no root options and offers a submit problem option. I have tried clearing cache on the kingroot app and uninstall/reinstall. Any ideas as to what the problem could be? any help would be much appreciated.

I realize this is a ancient thread, however I figured I would share my personal experience with this phone regarding bootloader unlock and root.
Without going into every little minutia regarding the process, you can bootloader unlock\temp root\flash twrp\flash supersu from twrp doing this (requires a sd card):
Step one: unlock bootloader. Use revskills, drop phone into EDL via FTM mode with adb reboot-edl, open revskills, go to Hardware -> Port Utils -> QC + AT Commands then select your edl port, go to BL section, and choose to send BOOTLDR -> UNLOCK BOOTLDR ZTE. Reboot phone.
Step Two: Use croowt.apk to get temp root via dirty cow exploit. This takes some noodle'ing around, however it WILL give you temp root, and thats all you need for 2 minutes to...
Step Three: use the TWRP installer for this handset, which you can find out there on the interwebs. Hint hint zmax_twrp_286.apk google is your friend here.
Step Four: use adb reboot recovery to drop into TWRP, then install the supersu.zip I hope you downloaded but I forgot to mention to do so heh.
I got this all worked out over a hour stretch, only after being told there simply was no way to root this device after taking the lollipop update. *poof*
