Does anyone know about push notifications on Google plus?
Basically I'm not getting push notifications when someone:
- Puts me in their circles
- Replies to a post of mine
- Replies to a comment of mine on a post
- Tags me in a post
- +1s anything
- Does anything which should trigger a notification to my phone!
Also I am not getting notifications for any posts in a circle I have marked with notifications enabled.
I have checked the following:
- Background sync is enabled
- Sync for Google+ within accounts and sync is enabled
- Notifications within settings > apps > all apps > Google + is enabled
- In settings I have every single option (except email) enabled for notifications
The only way to see my notifications is to open the app and tap the notifications button! I'm missing important stuff and I don't know how to fix it.
I hope someone can help.
Thanks so much in advance

I have Direct Push enabled. Works pretty well, except that the new email and callendar reminders can't be disabled, as far as I can tell. I went into Control Panel -> Notifications -> Messaging, and set Messaging: New e-mail message to be completely unchecked (including Display message on screen) as well as doing it with Reminders - yet I'm still getting the annoying email and calendar reminder notification. So how do you disable notifications with Direct Push?
I am also looking for this solution

It seem push notification does not work well with Mate 7... for instance... whatsapp web.. in order for it to read messages at all I need to push the power button constantly to wake it up from sleep..

I don't know if this has been solved but their is a option on mate 7 which allows you to toggle between notification push and how you handle it when screen is off.
Go into protected apps and enable it and make sure notification manager is set to allow.
i dont see notification manager in protected app.
it's in settings.
Under "privacy & security" you'll see Notification manager and Protected Apps.
From main settings i have only security option no privacy&security.Mine mate 7 is 09-european version.
I'd suggest taking a look at your settings again.
Under "Privacy & Security" section you have:
- Location Access
- Do not disturb
- Notification Manager
- Protected Apps
- Security
- Fingerprint ID
- Backup & Reset
Yes i was in restricted and notification options but there is no option to set notification manager to allow, notify or restrict options.Notification manager is not on the list of apps for which you can set this 3 options or notification manager is with some other name in the main list.

Doesn't happen with Kik messenger.
I've had an issue for a month now, which started as
- Gmail notifications not appearing in my bar or lockscreen, then weks after
- Hangouts not notifying me of push messages, and now
- Outlook (new install) not providing any notifications from day 1.
I looked everywhere and found unrelated issues:
- no push notifications,
- delayed push notifications,
- Google issues with some push notifications...
Mine is specific to:
- I get a vibration of a push notification (not sure which - Hangout, Gmail, or Outlook)
- wake up my phone to see a blank lockscreen
- unlock phone to see no notification
- access each of the 3 apps mentioned to see where I just received something.
- That something is unread, and newly received, so no, I didn't just syn by opening the app. it was there waiting for me.
- I did get Facebook messenger, LinkedIn and various other app notifications though... :/
Today I solved the issue. What is it? Not Light Flow, Not Buzz Launcher, not any specific app I installed. Android Marshmellow 6.0.1 running stock MMB29K.G390FXXU1BPLB from Samsung.
Going to the notification settings (found when you drop down the notification bar at the bottom left, you have the ability to toggle specific apps notification. Seems some unrelated apps that I didn't want notifications, which I had selected "block" had impacted my vital GMAIL. Hangout, and Outlook. I wouldn't think the apps were the issues, but the controller for the block/unblock ability. So if you have stumbled upon the same issue as me unblock the apps to fix the issue. Very frustrating month for me...
Hi there
I'm searching the settings for the popup (or peek) notifications.
That means, when I'm using the phone and for example a mails is incoming I would like to see a preview of the notification, not just an icon in the statusbar
Where do you have to enable this?
thanks
This should be enabled by default. Ensure do not disturb isn't enabled.
Unfortunately that doesn't work. At least no with gmail. It works with calendar events.
Do not disturb is not enabled and I rebooted the phone
Edit: i found the setting. Missed something, thanks!
I've looked through app settings and notification settings and could only find the option to globally disable sensitive notifications to show on lock-screen.
That said I want messages and the like to continue to show on lockscreen but I don't want my calendar notifications to show up.
