Where are apps installed by default in the Huawei Y220? - General Questions and Answers

Hi, I have a Huawei Y220 in which I can't install any apps. I get an error 498. I don't have an external SD cars inside right now. When I check the storage it is divided into two parts: internal SD card (about 9.4 MB available) and internal storage (about 139 MB available). Where are apps supposed to be installed? If it's in the SD card I can see that there is clearly not enough space. But if they have to go into the internal storage, there is still plenty of space for a couple of apps.
Also, when I connect the phone to the PC, I only see the 9.4 MB space. I'm confused with both storages.
Thanks in advance for your help.

[Q] What is USB Storage?

Hi everyone,
My Galaxy Ace Plus is my first Android phone, and since I bought it several months ago I was confused because I found 3 memory locations on my device: the Internal Storage, USB Storage, and the External Memory card that I added.
I can't really understand what the USB Storage is?
In fact I made a factory reset few days ago as the device was freezing a lot, and it asked me whether I want to format the USB storage or not, stating that if I chose to format it I will lose all my music and pictures and other files. So I became more confused because all my media files, ebooks, etc. are placed in the External Memory card! so why it would consume space of both storage locations!!
can anyone explain that please?
Also what will I lose if I formated the USB Storage only? would it improve the device performance anyway?
Thanks!

Internal storage , Usb storage & SD storage
internal storage is the one reserved for system, i.e 1.5 GB on Note, or in another words it is the flash memory of the device. It stores the components of ROM or the ANDROID OS. Applications get installed on this memory.
USB storage is the rest of the original storage on Note (i.e around 9.5 GB). In common language an Internal Memory where all your files are saved by default. This memory is used by most of the applications for storage of their data.
Most of the move2sd apps move apps from internal to SD Storage which means the USB Storage.
external SD Card storage, on the other hand, is the storage which relies on another SD Card put into the phone, e.g....external SD Card.
That's before you put external SD card..
If you put another SD Card in the phone, it will read as external SD Card. In the file system, it is known as external_sd.
Now, the answer to your next question.. Formatting the USB Storage of the phone is simply formatting your internal memory. It has nothing to do with PERFORMANCE. it just makes space available on your device's internal memory. :good:
Thanks a lot!

[Q] Phone storage problem

I have a problem pertaining to the storage space of my phone. I have an HTC One 32gb and I currently have about 5 gb of free space left. When I go into root explorer and check the space of my external sd card, it says it's only used up about about 15 gb. So my question is where is the rest of the space. I know the system takes up about 4-5 gb or something like that, but it shouldn't take up 17 gb! Also, there's a folder named "data" in my root storage, not the sd card folder, that takes up around 18 gb but I'm not sure what the files are inside. How do I free up more space on my phone? Any help or explanation would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Install All Apps on SD card On Micromax Unite 2

Hello All,
Recently i bought Micromax Unite 2, its a good phone but what problem i am facing is that it comes with internal storage of 4 GB and has external storage and i am using 8GB SD Card.
Under storage it shows free Internal storage of 0.90 GB(free 100 MB), External Storage of 7.47 GB (left 6GB free) and Internal SD card of 1.67 GB (left 1.67 GB free). By default it install apps on Phone/Internal storage and its getting filled and i am left with only 100 MB and it get hanged.
First i want to know what is the difference between Internal SD Card and phone storage??
Can I install all apps on Internal Storage(which is 1.67 GB free) and External Storage?

Razr HD Internal Memory storage

I have a Nexus5 and I'm taking the plunge on buying this for my girlfriend for cheap...
The question is, it has 16GB advertised as ROM, but out of that, how much is REALLY user available?
For example, I had a Microtek phone which had 8 GB rom, but it was partitioned into system, internal and phone
system had like 2GB, phone had 5GB available for photo storage and stuff, and 1GB for apps... which was really a hit in the nuts.
Is it the same with this Motorola phone? I read somewhere it says 16GB but only 12 User avaiable
out of those 12, are they all real for app installations?
What I want to avoid is installing two games and having an "insufficient memory" window
please help!
Thanks!!
Anyone?
Can you just go into Storage settings and tell me how much memory does it read for Internal Storage and if there's another partition named Phone Storage? or if Internal Storage is the only partition? (other than the SD card), can you switch between SD card and internal for app installation?

That's what I read on my phone :
Internal storage :
Total space 11,65GB
Available 11.25GB
Apps (app data & media content) 270MB
....
There's no Phone Storage folder.

That depends on your rom. If you're on JB stock, KK rooted or Lollipop, you'll surely have the choice between SD card and Internal Storage.

Is Adoptable storage working wrong or am I?

Can someone help? After 5gb my Lenovo tablet's memory is full but it says there are 96gb at all.
I set up my memory card as adoptable storage. After downloading 5gb of a test file I am getting an out of memory error. What is wrong here? The Lenovo tab4 8 plus has 64gb internal memory, so it should all work fine with a 32 GB SD card inside as adoptable storage...
The card itself seems to contain data but the system is not touching the internal memory. So if downloading a test file the SD card will be filled up to the limit where there's still space on the internal memory.

Maybe android doesn't check file sizes before assigning download locations, I haven't had any issues with this feature.
Btw https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3619346 don't ask questions here.
