I may have made a beginner boob here. I hope someone can point me in the right direction as I have searched all over the forums. My problem is this. I have managed to unlock the bootloader on my HTC ONE M9 and installed the latest twrp. I then tried to flash both Android Revolution HD 20 and Maximus HD 7. Both flashed fine right up to reboot. The only problem I can see is that the phone, even though unlocked, is set to s-on. I must have misread the fact that if the phone was unlocked and rooted, it didn't necessarily need to also be in the s-off state. My phone now won't boot, just keeps booting into the white bootloader screen. Is there any way I can get the phone into s-off from recovery mode or maybe some code using cmd?
Grateful for any help.
Thanks very much.

Ok so I have a One X with AT&T and I am just asking for some clarifications.
1.) I am on software version 1.73, which is from what I understand to be root-able, but software version 1.85 isn't root-able?
2.) After reading around on here people keep referring to them re-locking their boot-loaders after they unlock them through htc-dev, so my question is do you need to re-lock it afterwards? Also, what is the reason why?
Any answers are appreciated, please inform me if I have blatantly missed something obvious or if i'm in the wrong place.
Can I ask Red or one of the other mods to please move this to Q&A, it seems I neglected this
And Red are you really 15?
1.85 has not yet been rooted. Correct. After gaining root, super cid and unlocking bootloader you only need to relock it when needing to use a ruu, say to upgrade to 1.88 or if you just want or need to go back to stock. After ruu you can go back and re unlock it since ruu won't affect super Cid. Hope this helps

Thanks for the answer.
One more thing, are you able to flash CWM and roms after unlocking the bootloader the first time? Or do you have to run the RUU to be able to?
Once bootloader is unlocked you can flash your recovery. The latest twrp recovery is choice since it the only one with functioning USB at the moment. If you decide to relock and run a ruu remember to unlock and reflash your recovery of choice too. The only time u need to ruu (typically) is to upgrade or downgrade firmware or fix a soft brick so you don't NEED to ruu at all but it's a good idea to upgrade for the bug fixes from 1.73.

HI,
I've been tampering with my HTC ONE XL on Telstra's network and didnt realise that the Tegra chipset had anything to do with how the software ran on the handset - basically, I've unlocked my bootloader via HTCDEV.com, however, couldnt flash a custom recovery.
So now the bootloader comes up, it says **tampered**
**unlocked**, but when i try to boot, it says that "This version of software is for development purpouses any unauthorised use of this is against the law" i can not seem to recover it anyway i have tried all of the methods that i can find on here. included getting the stock RUU and browsing in temp and finding the system.img and flashing through fastboot cmd.
Ive contacted a HTC rep who sent me the stock ROM but that still doesn't fix it.
Could someone give me some instructions on how I might me able to get it to boot, as there isnt a ONE XL thread on here.
I'm happy to donate some $$ via paypal too.
TIA.
JASAWR.
**EDIT**: Forgot to mention that I've been using the ONE X roms - which is why I made reference to the Tegra chipset above.
Bootloader has been unlocked successfully, but no recovery and no custom ROM - just a standard HTC logo with red writing "this build is for development purposes only, etc etc"
TIA

If your One X is the Tegra version you are in the wrong forum. This forum is for the S4 One XL.
I'm happy to donate some $$ via paypal too.

You can relock the bootloader and run an RUU. You MUST relock to run the RUU. Why can't you flash a recovery?
BTW, if you have a One XL then you don't have a Tegra. It's an S4.

hi guys first time poster. I have a HTC One X Global edition. I was trying to root the phone and something went horribly wrong! Now I am stock in a boot loop and I can only go as far as the HTC White welcome screen. All I want to do now is flash my stock firmware and get my phone back. I have relocked to the bootloader and now am just trying to find my firmware! My CID is: VODAP021. I would really appreciate somebody's help. All i need is the firmware download to flash onto my device correct? I just cannot find the firmware anywhere ? Or is there another solution?
Good evening all,
I am very new to all of this so please be bear with me. I have searched through the forum extensively but haven't been able to find a solution to my problem.
I have an HTC One X (Endeavoru / Tegra 3) which is currently network locked to T-Mobile UK.
I have followed various guides on XDA carefully and successfully unlocked the bootloader using HTCDev code & adb/fastboot, rooted my phone and installed Cyanogenmod 12.0. It is all working perfectly and I'm very happy with the results.
My problem is I want to put in an O2 Sim Card and my phone is locked to T-Mobile UK. I purchased an unlock code for £9.99 (officialunlockcodes.com) and popped in my O2 Sim but after inputting the code into my phone, it said that the unlock was NOT successful and I still get the same message (Network / Perso Lock).
So my first question is, is the fact that my phone is running a custom ROM & unlocked/rooted preventing the unlock code from working?
My second question is a about reverting back to original HTC settings/software in order to unlock the network.
I read on a forum that someone else had issues using an unlock code on a custom ROM with unlocked bootloader. He reverted back to stock ROM and locked the bootloader and it worked for him. He then reinstalled the custom ROM and it was all fine. I have tried (and failed) to do the same but I cannot find any stock ROM or a Nandroid backup that is compatible with my phone.
The version is 3.16.110.6 and the CID is tmob005. Htboot version is 1.39.
I used TWRP Recovery & this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-x/orig-development/storage-layout-hox-endeavoru-t3022358 for updating to the new storage layout for HTC One X Endeavoru and this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc...nofficial-htc-one-x-cyanogenmod-12-0-t2976389 for my installation of Cyanogenmod 12.0. (both great resources!)
When I unlocked the bootloader & rooted my phone, I used ClockworkMod as the recovery tool and I did take a back up. However, I foolishly wiped my SD card & storage before I updated to the new storage layout (and changed to TWRP recovery tool) when I was installing Cyanogenmod 12.0 a few days later so as far as I'm aware, I can't simply restore my original ROM.
Does anyone have any ideas? Ideally, all I want to do is unlock the carrier/network and continue using my phone as it is with Cyanogenmod 12.0 but if I need to revert back to stock ROM to unlock the network, I'm prepared to do that. I just don't know how as I've searched through the collections and archives here and can't find a stock ROM or Nandroid backup that's compatible. I may be getting myself very confused on this as I don't really understand CID so I hope I've not missed anything obvious.
I've also tried achieving S-OFF with firewater & rumrunner but it fails and from what I can tell through various threads and research, S-OFF isn't possible yet for my model of HTC One X.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much Amber

Oops Sorry - do you know where I should post this?

This is your device
Alright so I rooted my phone around February and installed CM12.1 but because I want to get a replacement from HTC due to my friend dropping my phone and cracking the screen, so I need to unroot the device so I can use the warranty. Looking around there are some methods but they seem to not work correctly for my phone. And because I am a total dingus, I accidentally relocked the bootloader and now I can't reflash a custom recovery. I have tried installing RUUs from different threads on this site via hboot but they seem to not work. I don't know if anyone can help me if you can I really would appreciate it and would like to get this fixed as soon as possible. The CID is VZW__001 and the main OS on the bootloader says 3.28.605.4 but the box says 1.55.605.2 so I don't know which one is the correct one so if someone could clear something up and give me a link to a correct RUU for my phone that would be amazing. Thanks in advance
Have you tried re unlocking the boot loader?
