Hi all, Im sorry if this has been covered before but ive been looking for an app that allows me to move,delete,place in folder icons that are in the start menu (The one that comes up when you press the start button on the phone). I have apps that are all over the place and would like to reorganize them if possible.

Looks like a great program but its not what im looking for....i want a program that allows me to rearrange my programs shortcuts under the start menu and the app provided only allows me to change the icons of the apps..thanx thou

Have you tried your file explorer to cut and paste the shortcuts to wherever you want. You can add folders and rename them to put apps of a specific type into too if you want.
Ive had a look previously and there is no one repository that the shortcuts live, and i`d image that windows would arrange them by name if could find them which doesnt give me the option i want..
What i want to do is say move the facebook app which is at the bottom of the list and put it about half way up under all the system shortcuts or in a custom folder. The only option the rom gives is "more to top" or "move to bottom".
I hope im making sense.
If you are using WM 6.1 or 6.5, the shortcuts are in \Windows\Start Menu.
Perhaps you are referring to the Manila/Sense program tab are you? If yes, then you should be able to add/remove these from one of the soft keys.
Perhaps you can give us a screenshot of the programs you are referring to....

Is simple drag and drop method not working for you?
Longpress icon until it popsup, drag there you want, release finger.
i cant drag and drop, i think this is a limitation on the rom which is v2.1. The only option i have is to move the icon to the top as shown in the screenshot. All i want to be able to do is move one shortcut to somewhere else in the same menu... aka in the order i want. Im sure someone would have asked this before and that there would be an App that would allow a user to customize this menu.

What rom are you using? If its a 6.5 you can use the drag and drop method described earlier to rearrange start meu icons.
Otherwise they are in this location: \Windows\Start Menu\Programs.
To create specific folders to move shortcuts to, would look like this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\Media]
"Name"="Media"
"Group"=dword:00000001
"Icon"="\\Windows\\Media.png"
... where "Name" is the name of the folder, "Icon" is the picture that will represent the folder on the start menu, and "Group"=1 tells windows that this is a folder. Once you have created all the folders you want you can use your file explorer to drag and drop the shortcuts into whatever folder you want

You can edit the XAP and re-install it.
Open the XAP in an archive manager (Eg. 7-Zip)
Open the file WMAppManifest.xml
Find where it says: Genre="apps.normal"
Add this text just after it: HubType="268435456"
Save XML. Save XAP.
Install.
BAM. Done.
EDIT: Btw multiple question marks is rude. What does it add? I wouldn't have answered if I'd noticed it.
Like this - number one on the screen.
Number two - change showing name app,
Number three - change description app.
If you don't have the XAP, you can also edit the aforementioned files on your device directly if you can find them. They're in:
\Applications\Install\{GUID}\Install

Are you asking developer how to patch his app?
May be you will not publish but even noob will know the way of hacking. Developer doesn't want theirs app be tampered.

i am from canada, new to android system , and learning about build / rebuild for personal learning and usage ,
i already have freeware verson downloaded to my android tv box ..name stb emu(free) by maxim V.
i want to move some of sub menu to apk startup screen , instead of going inside the settings all the time
how can i pull that submenu to home screen of apk ?
as well i want to permanent blend some profile inside apk by default and settings passward locked by default
can any expert help me to relocate the menu ,and what xml file i suppose to mod ,
so i can get one of setting parameter at boot screen from settings/sub menu
this is freeware verson so i choose like other apk..this one has many sub menu one inside other so seems good practice too.

Hello , first of all i dont know english very well so i have problem writing it well lets start with our little project.
And i see some people here ask to change the icons on launcher so here we go.
Well hmm i love telegram but you know what i dont like the color of his icon it has to much on it so but i want more red one and the name i dont like i would preffer better like on my way so its easy its a android application called APK Editor and he has the free and the pro version in this case we need pro but and free version can do the work , with this application you can rebuild entire app and with rpo version you can have the smali files.
Requirements :
Rooted device
APK Editor
Steps :
I made a video because its complicated to write here but i will write and put the video link here.
1) Open app and select the program you wouls like to edit, after you select the program you have 3,4 choice to select what kind of edit you want in this case we want full edit i mean rebuild one so we select the first choice that the program offer to us.
2) After selecting the app you are now on the content of that app so we can go direct to our job ans lets other stuff without touching them so we go under the files tab and select the res folder and find our icons but icons are located at subfolders named drawable so in there we look for our icons we want to change on our case is a icon on launcher and notification so on Telegram app thoose icons are named book_icon.png and ic_launcher.png so there are to much drawable folder because have to many phone different rezolution and diferent api so we must have diferent icona to fit any phone so we have to made some our icons with out dimensions i upload mines here for RED telegram.
3) After finishing go and tab Build on the right corner and uala remove your installed application and install yours (anyway the program will ask you its self).
