Hello everyone,
I have rooted LG magna and i deleted some system apps like weather, keyboard.. My phone got new update and i want to know if i can update my device without the deleted apps.
Is it safe ?
If you are rooted and you will upgrade it via OTA then you will have to unroot it first. On the other hand if you will flash it via PC download mode upgrade it will be wiped and back to stock/factory defaults.
It is safe but consider that you might lose your root.

You can delete everything and flash a stock rom before returning it. Which model of phone are you using?

rthats what i did.
I am having issues installing the OTA Kit Kat on T-moblie LGG2
I have stock rom plus rooted.
xposed was installed.
I uninstalled xposed.
I used SuperSU to disable root.
I get the system update.
It downloads and says click to install and restart.
I've done that 5 times. IT just restarts and doesn't update. No errors or anything.
Anybody else have this issue or know what I can do?
Thanks.
Well first in o order to take or a while rooted you have to be totally stock nothing can be modified also sometimes it would give a message like "this phone is suspected of rooting" and the only way to be able to update would be to go back to stock and only root then take ota

You can also try hard factory reset http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ogBvzbPikc
I have a AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and I've downgraded to KitKat twice with Odin.
The first time my phone force updated it was cause I had my phone off for awhile I turned it on and it began the update process.
WTF
Then the second time I kept ignoring and dismissing their update messages and it forced rebooted and updated to lolipop.
basically....
The second time though I didn't get any updates because I had use @gatesjunior debloater app
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/debloater-remove-carrier-bloat-t2998294
but after using kingroot to root my phone (cause I wanted to use titanium backup pro)
Somehow it removed the update block from gatesjunior debloater app and my phone upgraded to lollipop BEFORE i could backup my apps and data, settings in titanium backup pro:crying::crying::crying::crying:
Rooted phones don't update do they? On my 2 Samsung tablets(now one) and 1 phone, after rooting Samsung said that modified devices can't be updated

I bought a Nexus 5 used online. I can't remember what version is came with, maybe 4.4.4. First thing I did with it was update it which put it to Adroid 5.1.1 LMY48B. When any update came out after that I would try to update it, but it would not work. I would download the update, which would then let me install it, but once it restarts to install it, it gives me the Adroid fella with an "Error" underneath. This has happened for every update and now even for Android 6.0.1. I have cleared the cache and wiped the phone entirely multiple times. It is not rooted or have any custom backup's or whatever. It is just unlocked.
I literally have tried everything and haven't a clue how to fix it. Is there any hope you guys could try and help me?
Have you tried flashing a stock Google ROM and then running the update? Note that you need to unlock the bootloader before you can flash a stock ROM.
Facing same issues here but my N5 is rooted and I've not installed any custom recovery...

I don't think Google updates will install on a rooted system.

Does anyone happen to know how to turn off the android update notification that pops up and takes up the entire phone screen?
I'm using a Rooted & Unlocked Motorola Z2 Force, T-mobile branded but AT&T Service ( Purchased through T-mobile but currently using AT&T service)
Update notification pictured below *
Have you tried removing the android system updater app using titanium backup or another tool?
Although that would break updating unless you go back to stock rom .

Thank you for the reply.
But no I haven't uninstalled or froze any App's yet. I've only turned off all the notifications I could find. I've been able to turn off all the update notifications besides one, it's a full sized pop up that seems to randomly pop up and take up the entire screen until I hit back a bunch of times .
