First problem, I can't access Play Store so I tried to clear cache, clear data, remove google account and then re-adding it (fail because of Authentication failed message). After done some researching, I have to remove or rename accounts.db on my tablet that means I have to root my tablet.
Because my tablet is practically already cluttered, I factory reset and everything.
I tried to root it and it seems to succeed but problem arise when I need to open Root Browser / Root Explorer. It appears that I have to install either SuperSU or Superuser to grant permission to those apps but I can't access Play Store so I download Root Browser, SuperSU and Superuser apk manually and install them on my tablet.
More problems arise. I can't install binary in SuperSU and Superuser or they're not updating and I have no idea why. Now because SuperSU / Superuser not updated, I can't open Root Browser and because I can't open Root Browser, I can't delete or rename accounts.db and finally I can't delete or rename accounts.db, I can't access Play Store (not even sure accounts.db is the problem but I still can't access Play Store after factory reset)
Sorry for the long post, I tried to explain in the most simplest way possible.
OK I think I have a fairly foolproof method since I got root and Google Apps.
1. Download this automatic driver installer from adbdriver .com
2. Plug in the tablet via the USB cable (with debugging and unknown sources on) and open the automated installer
3. Select PMID920 and install the drivers
4. Download Kingo root
5. Then transfer an apk of root explorer, supersu, and copy the system folder of Jelly Bean 130812-13 GAPPs onto the tablet
6. Install supersu and root explorer using the built in Explorer app
7. Now go on kingo and click root again.
8. Open SuperSU and install binaries.
9. Open root explorer and allow root then go to / directory and set to R/W
10. This is where I and others got stuck. Go to sdcard and find the system folder you copied and open it
11. Use root explorer's multi-select feature to select the folder in system and copy them to your system folder
12. Reboot and it should work if it did great
13. If not you'll have to do what I did which is check the folders in system and you may notice they look like this /system/app then another app folder in there with the files
14. Manually go into all of the folders and delete any duplicate folder i.e if you open the lib folder and see another lib folder delete it and so on
15. Go to your SD card and use multi-select with select all and carefully copy all the files to the corresponding system directories then verify they all are correctly copied with none in the wrong place or missing (yes this does suck )
16. Reboot and you should be prompted to sign into google. Enjoy
Realize I am not responsible for any screwed up tablets and recommend you do this on Win 7 like I did. Also I cant post links yet.

HI, so i am working on getting this very Polaroid tablet to work with the aid of your direction and i have gotten as far as step 5. sort of.. when i use Kingo root i continuously tells me that my device is unstable. debugging mode is activated and so is the installation of from unknown sources... have i missed something? i would really love to have google play services on this tablet but this is becoming rather annoying being defied by such a tablet... please help.
Hmm if it is a driver issue due to some error in installing the drivers then go to device manager and uninstall the device and check the box. Then try to install the drivers I will add to the main post (not mine) you will have to install them without a signature. Also what os, cable, and kingo root are you using.
Lets start with saying that im pretty uber noob at this so idk what os im using. or what os is... cable is a usb micro the only cable that goes into the pmid920. as far as kingo root, i went to kingoapp.com and clicked into download, and that was it, downloaded the package and tried to use it..
Try the new drivers
An Operating System is like Windows, Macintosh, Ubuntu etc. Did you try the new drivers Just uninstall the old drivers by right clicking on the device and check the uninstall driver box. Then unplug and replug the cable then chose own drivers and go to the extracted folder I put in the main post.
ok so maybe im a little smarter than i had thought... im doing the work on the tablet with a windows 7 laptop because during the first couple steps my windows 8 laptop was not compatable. however, i have uninstalled the drivers and then put in the drivers from the zip file you linked in, however now kingo root is telling me that the connection is unstable.. what do now? also im really sorry for having to bug you about this alot. seems rather annoying
Hello! I am stuck on step 8. When I open SuperSU, it says "The SU binary need to be updated. Continue?". I hit continue.
Then it asks "If you have a custom recovery like TWRP or CWM, that can be used to (try to) install the SU binary. This is recommended for HTC devices. How would you like to install the SU binary?" Normal or TWRP/CWM. I hit Normal.
Then it says "Installation failed !" and closes the app.
I am using SuperSU version 1.69.
Please help with this part.

Alright for the su binary I forgot but I think you have to click unroot reboot then root it again using kingo root. As far as the unstable connection error I have read and it may be some type of bug with kingo. Remember windows 7 and try both sets of drivers.
i did try the sets of drivers. With the first set when i used kingo root it told me that the device its self was unstable, and then when i tried the 2nd set it was able to accept the device but not the conection, it would tell me that the connection was unstable, and using several different ports on the laptop (windows 7) it would still say the connection was unstable.. do you know of another good rooting tool that would allow me to use either windows 7 or 8?

I was able to get it to root and install gapps! I'm not sure exactly why it worked though. First SuperSU was updated and then I tried Kingo root again but this time I mounted the sd card on the tablet first. Then after it rebooted, I was able to get R/W access to the root folder and transfer all the new files over. After a nail-biteingly long reboot, it had me sing in to google and now I have google play and can sign in to youtube. So I am not sure it worked because of the updated SuperSU or mounting the SD card first the made the difference. But thanks all the same Beutrocks! You're awesome!:good:
system folder size limit
Has anyone gotten a problem with the amount of space allowed in root/system? Everything up until you have to copy the gapps system folder over worked for me, but when trying to copy over the gapps system folder, explorer says there is not enough room. The space available is a couple MB and obviously the gapps system folder is about 150 MB. Has anyone else had this issue, or know how to readjust the size that root/system allows? I'm new to rooting.
The GAPPs I got was 100-120

Try to make sure that folderception didn't occur; It happened to me and yes I was mad. You can check by going to /system/apps and if there is another apps folder delete it. Do this for all of the folders that copied wrong for example /system/libs/libs. Then manually recopy all of the files.

You download then install the drivers then pmid920 should show up. If on windows 8 you must boot into unsigned driver mode.

Hey so I'm thinking about biting the bullet to finally trying to root & update this pmid920 to google play. But I guess I'm a little worried as this fellow messed his up & couldn't put stock fw back on it. http://www.FreakTab.com/showthread.php?t=11960 or if I just wanted to keep it simple should I just root & sideload apps to it? Or what do u think this fellow did wrong to totally mess it up? I just wanna keep it simple to let kids have some games on it & me to bs on it n such. Thanks in advance Ron.

Hey bud so I hope u had a great holiday & I just wanted to let u know that I did manage to root & get google play following this XDA post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588991 but I used a apk app called iroot to root device. It installed & I opened app then made one click & I was rooted. The only thing is that it installed some Chinese version of super user & in order to get the regular SuperSU app to work that I downloaded I had to unroot reboot & rwroot. Weird but it worked. But now I'm wondering since there is no development or filmware available for this thing is it possible to install twrp or cwm or even philz touch recovery on this & maybe even tweek it? Hello guys! So, I have a Nexus 5 (stock ROM, twrp and rooted) for a few days now, and I already unlocked and rooted it using the Nexus 5 Toolkit by WUG's . I have the TWRP installed, and using the root checker from playstore i can confirm that I have root. But the strange thing is that it looks like I dont have permissions to the System. Let me explain the problem: I want to install App Ops, for example. Like always, I go to play store, and download the application. Open the application, do install (SU appears and I grant permission), reboot, and when I open the App Ops, it is in the menu to install again. Tried with this flashable zip from @apatal, but no luck. I already tried to install others zip through recovery and had no sucess, but I thinked that was the zip that was damaged. Whats wrong with my rooted Nexus?

I purchased the App Fake GPS Location Spoofer Pro and want to move it to \System\priv-app\. (As suggested in the app)
what i have tryed so far:
1. Installing the app frome play store.
used Root Explorer to move Base.apk from data\app\com.incorporateapps.fakegps\ to system\priv-app and deleted the old folder in data\app
after rebooting, the apk is not in system\priv-app anymore also the installed icon is gone
2. tryed to install the app with (Mod Edit: reference to warez removed) as system app. but after reboot, no installed app. (i used the base.apk which i moved to sd-card, to install)
My Device:
HTC One M7
Android 5.0.2
H-Boot 1.61 S-On but unlocked Bootloader over HTC Dev
do i need s-off for it? And if yes, is there an other way then sunshine?

Once you move the app to system/priv-app reboot your device, it will disappear from the apps catalog (because now it's a system app).
Then browse with any root browser to the installation path I remember something like system/priv-app/com. .... there is a base.apk select ans REINSTALL the base.apk, it will prompt to UPDATE the app, allow it and reboot again, Tada you will see the app with system permission.
It took me a while to figure out the process, hope it helps.

Im running on the same problem, I used root explorer, but I couldnt find the fake GPs folder there either, it looks like it totally disappears. any help? Thanks

2. Using any root explorer copy that app's folder from data/apps and paste into your priv-app (don't cut or move that folder, only copy). Then Reboot.
3. Now after reboot, go to settings and open installed apps. See if that app is there or not. If not then seleect "show system apps" option.
4. After finding that app. tap on it and select uninstall updates (or disable option if you can't find uninstall updates option there).
5. It will prompt you to replace with the factory version of that app. After selecting option "replace with factory version" enable the app again if you've disabled it. Then Finally reboot.
Done!

Does not work for me. everything I put in system/app or system/priv-app disappears on reboot, after reboot I can uninstall app left in data normally.

As I dai, don't "put" in system/app or priv/app. you have to copy the folder from data/app.
i think with disappearing he means that the icon is no longer on the android user-surface.
same problem here. even if i copy the whole folder into system/priv-app and dont erase it in data/app i can only uninstall the app normally (and then its no longer listed in apps, even though there is the copy of the folder in system/priv-app).
there is no option like "uninstall updates" or "replace with factory version". there is simply the button "uninstall" like with every other non-system-app.
Here's what I had to do on my Note 5 through t-mobile running Nougat with the March update. I rooted with Magisk and I used ES file Explorer to move, not copy because i guess that confused the app on which path to load from and breaks. After moving I needed to change the permissions to rx-r-r, which I did for both the base.apk and the app folder as well then rebooted just to make sure the changes stuck, but I used a different joystick. I used GPS JoyStick by the app ninjas which once in system mode can disable the gps and eliminate rubberband and has a lot more features than the other joysticks.

same exact problem... i'm trying to do it via twrp, i even set permissions for the apk to chmod 644 and folder to 755, the app has the same permissions as all other system apps, and nothing..... it is there but i can't launch it

I'm having similar issues. All the posted solutions do not work for me. I've tried the xml permissions modifications as well that are on the apps home page and that does not work either. The system option is still greyed out for me. I have the app installed to system/priv-app as suggested and it opens and shows on my launcher just fine but the application itself will not detect that it's installed to system. Oreo 8.0.0 with magisk root. Please if anyone has something to try let me know. I've been searching for and trying solutions for over 5 hours now. I can't use mock locations because the application refuses to work with that enabled and the system ability to spoof gps is my only option

I am now running into the same problem, cannot "Enable System Mode" with the app. Using a browser I noticed that the folder for the cloned app version is different than the app that I named it; "com.tgmqqhposmr.xacn....."
Is this normal?

To answer my own question and others that may share the same question, yes, the randomly named app folder is correct when compared to working versions on android 8.0.
Also, the app is supposed to be located in the priv-app/ directory.
The problem in the additional steps posted by gps joystick's faq, specifically #4:
Additional Steps for Android Oreo (8.0) Users:
These are user submitted steps, so your mileage may vary.

3. Place the file at “root/system_root/system/etc/permissions/” and make sure permissions are set to 0644
4. Edit the file “root/system_root/system/etc/permissions/privapp-permissions-marlin.xml”
5. Add the same XML from Step 2 between the <permissions></permissions> tags and make sure permissions are set to 0644
6. Restart the device and confirm that the Enable System Mode is enabled in GPS JoyStick Settings.
Number 4 references an xml named marlin that belongs to the Pixel 1 XL. My phone, and others I suspect, does not have this file. I looked for a Taimen (Pixel 2XL) file but no luck.
Any ideas?
This last method FINALLY solved it for me on my Nexus 6P running Oreo. You only have to change "com.theappninjas.gpsjoystick" with the package name of the cloned app, something like "com.mksacniw.apoerslnose" (this is just an example). Follow the instructions carefully and rememeber to change the permissions of both files to rw-r--r-- (this is VERY IMPORTANT).

2. Using any root explorer copy that app's folder from data/apps and paste into your priv-app (don't cut or move that folder, only copy). Then Reboot.
3. Now after reboot, go to settings and open installed apps. See if that app is there or not. If not then seleect "show system apps" option.
4. After finding that app. tap on it and select uninstall updates (or disable option if you can't find uninstall updates option there).
5. It will prompt you to replace with the factory version of that app. After selecting option "replace with factory version" enable the app again if you've disabled it. Then Finally reboot.

perfect works fine
None of the above worked for me (pixel on 8.0), what finally worked was the app systemizer terminal module in magisk, then installed turmex, ran these 5 commands and rebooted
1. su
2. systemize
3. (choice 1)
4.(the number of the app to systemize)
5. (The option for priv-app)
