Any way to do this I have root so any build.prop changes or something that I can do to fix this
For now, changing the media volume is impossible unless a media was playing and then you pressed the volume keys, that will change the media volume. I really we have a solution.
If you're rooted, install xposed and gravitybox. You can make volume button change the media sound only.
Oh yeah, I forgot that Xposed could do anything.

When I'm on a call (regular headset or speaker phone) and I press the volume buttons on the left of the phone, the display shows volume being changed up and down. But the actual call volume remains the same which is always loud.
The volume control buttons work for everything else (ringtone volume, Youtube, music, etc.), but just don't change the volume during calls. If there's a way to fix this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello all. I was perusing the nexus s and nexus s 4g forums and was interested when I came upon their oxygen rom. It offers the ability to skip songs with the volume rocker. Is anyone willing to try and get this working for gummy? I am willing to donate to anyone willing to try. It would also be cool if we could get music controls on the lock screen. Thanks to all the hard working devs and themers.
The first one would be possible for one of the devs to do. The second would require a whole new lockscreen & lots of coding, plus all of the themes would have to be updated with the new stuff.

Agile Lock + PowerAMP = music controls on the lockscreen. They just updated Agile so you can now disable your lockscreen without disabling your power button menu but it's a little glitchy, the dev does promise to release a new version every week as he is still trying to fix it up.
Also, why would you want the volume rocker to skip songs? I would prefer the volume rocker to control volume and use the search/back keys to skip through songs, just me though.

On the Droid 1 roms I used that had volume button music controls you had to hold the volume key to skip but a single press would still adjust volume. Both functions were available with the same buttons.

That's pretty cool, hope it can be done! I usually have PowerAMP set to shuffle my 100+ song playlist and sometimes I get to that song I'm just not in the mood to hear and it would be nice to skip it with a simple hold of the power button.

Yutz-exactly what I'm hoping somebody will look into. Blarrick-I have over 2000 songs I shuffle through. I need a quick way to skip.

It's my understanding that this is a function of ASOP ROMs. Seeing as none have been released yet, I don't think that this is an available option yet.

Thank you for your response. Will the charge ever get a pure ASOP rom?
There is development happening now. No ETA on releases (there never is), but it may be a while.
I realize this might not be exactly what you are looking for, but PlayerPro can partially do what you want.
It can change the volume up and down to be used to skip songs. However, that will be their only function when it is playing, as they will no longer be able to adjust volume.
Also, while it can't put music controls on an existing lockscreen, it has its own that can be configured with AOSP like sliders. It will show album art and play/next/prev controls on its lockscreen.
Hi, i'm using a GB custom rom and i want the aokp feature which when you press volume key, it shows an option to expand the volume settings and change the volume for other things. For example when in homescreen i press volume to change ringtone, i want to be able to change media volume from homescreen, or an office app...
Please help me make a mod that do this!! (do'nt even know where to start)
Or i could use the volume key to change only media volume instead of ringer/media.
I looked for this on internet and there's a lot of threads of people wanting this, but not even one with a solution...
It can't be made?
No one? Come on people

I want this too
Sent from my HTC Intruder using my brain.
Hello friend.
I had the same problem and today I found the solution. I use Resurrection Remix too.
I had downloaded an app called NOYZE that did the trick.
There's some details, tough. The app isn't in the play store and only expands the panel with pro version activated. So I downloaded it using Blackmart and activated pro using LuckyPatcher.
It overrides the normal volume panel and is very useful.
Check it out if you can.
Hey all,
I am coming from an EVO 3D which had CyanogenMod 10 with JB 4.2. When I pressed either of the volume rockers, the volume bar would pop up with the option to change all 3 volume settings, ringer/media/alarm.
On my nexus 5, I had to set up a shortcut for Sound Settings in order to change all 3 volumes. Am I missing a shortcut or easier way to adjust all 3 volumes? When I currently press the volume rocker, it only lets me change the volume for the ringer (or media if I'm playing music/games).
Thanks!

Try actually reading the OP before you reply next time.
I really miss this option as well. I know some custom roms on my GS3 used to have an option make that sound bar expandable or always expanded.
troll
Actually, shaneledford understood exactly what I was asking. I was just asking to see if there was a way to enable this volume setting.
Too bad Google didn't catch on to this neat little shortcut.
This issue drives me up the wall. Anyone knows a way to quickly adjust volumes without digging through the settings I would greatly appreciated.

Do not disturb has an option to disable media volume: how can I do the same in vibration mode?
Anyone here pls?

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there's a stock in-system way to achieve this.
I'm sure it can be done (automatically, when setting ringtone volume to vibrate) with automation apps like MacroDroid. Otherwise, you'll have to press the bottom of the slider or drag the slider down on media volume when/if you press the physical volume key...
