I just upgraded to Snapshot version of CM 13 ZNH0EAO1QB and noticed that notifications that requires data connection are delayed my screen is off. Ever since I did the upgrade, I have to turn on the screen and play around a bit or open the respective application for the message to arrive to my phone. Is there any workaround for this issue? I didn't have this issue while I'm on CM 12.1.
Thanks!

I think ur issue is with Doze mode kicking in. try not to optimize the apps u want to receive notification under battery Optimization and reboot that should take care of the issue.

Just root it and install Push Notification Fixer. I've done it for my Nexus 4 during Jellybean years, and now my OnePlus One.

FOR WIFI BATTERY DRAINING PROBLEMS -
1) Go to Settings > Location > Touch 3 dots on upper right corner > Scanning > Turn both options off
2) Go to Settings > Wifi > Touch 3 dots on upper right corner > Advanced >Turn "Keep WiFi on during sleep" to "Never"
3) Go to Settings > Security > Apps with usage access > Touch 3 dots on upper right corner > Show system > Turn all three OFF
Running much better especially keyboard and recent apps!
1. Now for the bugs, after playing games in landscape clicking recent apps... It's loads in landscape!
2. Google services was giving errors for some reason... Now I think it fixed itself, should test and find out

Now on tap is hilarious...
Animations are smoother, vent played any games...
System UI tuner is a welcome change, so is app permission...

Yes I myself felt the snappiness in typing on keyboard. It's much smoother. I haven't encountered that landscape bug yet as I haven't played any game.
Yes that Google play services popped up multiple times bit after sometime it vanished and never came again.

When the phone battery goes below 5 percent, the battery saver gets active. Just charge you phone, it's a normal thing.

I think is talking about the battery usage of the wifi.. sorry but for the moment I have no solution. If this has happened to me, first I would try to make a factory reset.

Maybe the wifi scanning is on. Also he hasn't fully charged it I think.
The new root method is systemless (2.61), so secure settings won't get root access. Here's the fix:
adb shell
su
mount -o remount,rw /system
touch /sbin/su /system/bin/su /system/xbin/su
mount -o remount,ro /system
exit

Obviously, it won't be systemless after this, but has no negative effects other than that.
EDIT: Supersu 2.62 has been released which may resolve this

Yes it makes for easier unroot and possibly smooth OTA updates. I personally tend to wait for a flashable version or completely restore stock. If you like OTA updates I'd avoid earlier versions of supersu if you can.

Good job Motorola.

Just a sharing of personal experience. I got my essential white from amazon few days ago and was upset why the phone frequent lockup and touch issue. My phone installed November OTP but still suffering the issue. The hell gone after I done a simple trick by disabling fingerprint gesture. This is a vast difference and everything become perfect now.
Guess I'm not the only one then. Mine locks up about once a day. 3 times the first day. I read somewhere that turning off the fingerprint gesture helps. For me it was less frequent lockup. Hope they fix this soon. May try the oreo beta and see if that helps

Forgot to tell you ,I'm using oreo
In Oreo you can turn off swipe for notifications somewhere in the Notifications section of your settings. I can't recall exactly where but poke around and you'll find it, it's a few levels deep though.
I was having issues with the newest Nougat update. It seems after a couple of hours. The phone would slow down quite a bit. I don't know how aggressive the memory management is so I enabled this in development options.
It's so much better after this! I hope essential fixes memory management of the next update.
So ive been having this issue recently where the phone will turn off apps that i want to run in the background and i cant figure out a way to fix it. The biggest issue is with AdGuard. When im using it, the phone will randomly kill the background process and the vpn will turn off allowing all the adds to come pouring in. I've mentioned this issue on the oneplus forums and nobody there seems to know how to fix it. I'm considering moving to a custom rom once i find one that works well with my needs but first i want to make sure this isnt something that i can fix on the stock rom since i dont really need all the custom settings that come with custom roms. Im running the latest stable 9.0 pie/OOS.
Thanks for any help in advance
When you open the recent app tab press on the 3 dots right above the app. The press lock. That worked for me
did you set it to not optimize in battery settings?

Ive enabled the lock and it still clears it and i have to reopen the app and re-enable the lock
Ive also set background process limit to be unlimited in the developer options. I cant think of anything else to do except maybe install adguard as a system app???? I've seen that this problem occured with the OP5 as well and people modified build.prop to increase the process limit, i've since found out that the option thats in the build.prop file is gone in the OP6 so i cant do that either. This is driving me crazy and i dont even know if its related to the os or the kernel.
I've tried everything but notifications are delayed or not received until I wake up the phone. Gmail is completely broken and I have to manually refresh it most times. WhatsApp is infrequent and Google Voice is broken too. But this seems to be happening more frequently on wifi.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this?
same problem here....

I'm also having this problem, which is a real pain.
Yup, whatsapp notifications don't stay on lockscreen.. show up then dissapear
The problem still persists so I sent an email to the Indian customer support since my model an Indian International one. Let's see what happens.
I'm in contact with vivo support on messenger, but after a couple of logs uploaded, they still have no clue of what's happening. I'll wait next update and if no improvement, i'll get a new phone.
Maybe you could help as well with some logs for them to check, search for VIVOGLOBAL on messenger

I don't use messenger but it's pretty obvious what the problem is. It's right there in the Changelog "reduced system power consumption in the locked standby screen". In this case they've managed to somehow break both wifi and data access for whitelisted apps while the phone is locked. First thing they should do is check the functionality of the whitelist and apps locked in recent.
I think the reduced consumption was introduced to fix the high consumption from the previous FW.
I noticed too a bettery drain and high temperature of the phone, they fixed it after 1 week if I remember well.

Yes. The upgrade to Android 10 screwed up battery consumption but they've broken something else with this update.

Hello all, any update from Vivo support on notifications issue? Or any temporary fix to avoid this
I received an update to version 8.10.5 yesterday. Whatsapp notifications came today without delay during work. Battery consumption was 25% after 10 hours

Do you know any workaround or ways for downgrading?
One of the possible workaround is to
download push notification fixer app, set the interval to be one minute, then add notification fixer app to whistlist, autostart, high battery consumption.
By doing that, I am able to at least get some notification within 15 minutes (although not instantly, but better than it was).
I was not aware of update interval. I would appreciate if you could share the experience on when to receive the next update.

Thanks for the comment, I would appreciate if you could provide the following before I consider resetting my phone.
Are you on PD1805F_EX_A_8.10.1 and experienced notification before?
Does "sometime lag" means the application not running smoothly or notification lag?

And all applications are running very smooth I don't have any issue on that
So I turned off Miui Optimization because I wanted the always on display to always been on (apparently if you disabled Miui Optimization, it wouldn't turn off after 10 seconds). It worked, but I lost some things like the haptic vibration or the Gaussian blur of the interface. I need help, I enabled Miui Optimization again but it didn't fix it (I restarted my cellphone more than 5 times). I don't know what to do and I'm not able to find a solution.

Did you able to find the solution for this issue? I got this issue two times and everytime I had to reset. Funny thing is that there was also a dark mode glitch as well. Although, everything gets normal while charging the phone... Seriously, MIUI is annoying as hell.

Yeah, I was able to find a solution for it. I suffered the same thing you have, phone was back to normal when I plugged the cable to charge it. I installed an app called "Hidden Settings (if you search it on the play store as "Hidden Settings Miui" it'll appear on there). Open the app and go to "hidden" at the bottom of the interface, then search for the battery options and its gonna be one of those 4 options.
In my case, the problem was with the second battery option. It was enabled and I had to disable it, then it started working like nothing happened.
I hope you can fix it, if you need help just answer this saying it.

tbh I didn't try it with the Miui optimization off, but I think that if you disable the battery optimizations I told you before; it should work fine even with Miui optimization turned off. You can try it, you do know how to fix those "bugs" if they happen again so you'll not lose anything.
