Hello
Sorry if I'm posting what has already been asked. I can't seem to find a straight forward answer for my questions.
I have a Galaxy S6 G920F running 5.1.1 EVR (G920FEVR3QOJF),
Is it possible to flash 6.0.1 BTU right over the top without have to make any changes to CSC/root etc using Odin?
Would this trip Knox?
Should I care if it does trip?
Would I then get OTA updates directly from Samsung rather than my carrier?
Is there a downside going to BTU?
thanks in advance

Hello everyone. I joined Galaxy S6 community today with the phone that I bought from a my who went to Dubai. It's G920F. It currently have 5.0.2 with baseband G920FXXU1AOE3. I'm planning to download stock 5.1.1 rom from Samfirmware and flash it through Odin. I know that It won't trip knox but I wonder if there will be any problems caused by different region roms. I also want to learn If using the device in another region block ota updates? Or I also wonder if flashing another stock rom will block ota updates. Since it's the first android device I plan to use without root, I am a bit cautious about OTA updates.
I also wonder if shutter speed settings came with 5.1.1. I tried Camera FV5 and couldn't find them
I'm thinking to flash Netherlands rom.
Thank you for answering.
Flashing ROMs via odin won't trip knox. You recieve OTA updates anywhere around the world irregardless of ROM as long as its stock and knox not tripped. Here's Dubai ROM:

Hi Guys,
I've bought a Galaxy S6 (SM-G920i) on B&H unlocked, and it comes with an Australian firmware (SPARK) 5.1.1.
I've downloaded an unbranded firmware from sam, but I can't installed. It has failed before instalation begins.
Has this firmware (SPARK) any kind of lock that can't allow me to install an unbranded firmware? I want to stay with the phone stock and with an unbranded version of 6.0.1.
If anyone can give me a clue, I'll really appreciate it!
Regards,
Power

check your csc, it may need to be changed if spark has not as yet released a 6.0.1 upgrade.

Thanks for your reply Cosmic! I'm trying to push the firmware via Odin. I think CSC should not a problem at this point. I can't understand why I can't flash an stock firmware via Odin. I'm starting to think that it has any kind of lock.
Anyone had the same experience than me?
Thanks in advance,

Hi ahmadaboshah5
You should not have any problems when flashing a Sammobile firmware as it will overwrite all your partitions and, specially, Bootloader and Modem that are essential to upgrade/downgrade Android versions.
You will need re-root it as the Kernel will be rewritten too.
For a better Sammobile download experience, I do suggest:
[TOOL] SamFirm - Samsung firmware downloader & checker
Nice regards, good luck and mainly, have fun.

Hello Guys. The new 7.0 BTU firmware for g930f downgrade 6.0.1 is possible? Knox warranty 0x0?
Yes it possible and it dont trigger knox. But why the hell you wanna downgrade? Nougat is so much better than MM

Thanks for fast reply. Can you try the downgrade? I would like to know before I flash that it works.
You want us to do the dirty work for you? Who are you? Why is your phone and your time more valuable than ours? You have all instructions here on XDA and do it yourself. Its not hard.

I asked only that someone had tried to downgrade. You do not have to do a jerk style comment.
Yes you can downgrade back to Marshmallow using ODIN or SmartSwitch, KNOX 0x0

The Answer is; Yes you can!
But, this can only be done on international Galaxy S7, S7 edge variants, including the American and Canadian version, but except to those device with built in “locked bootlooader” such as the Verizon and AT&T Galaxy S7, S7 edge models or we can say models with Snapdragon Processor.
Devices with unlocked bootloaders can be freely downgrade-able, but those with highly secured bootloader cannot be messed around.
As long as you flash the original firmware with ODIN, you'll not have any problem for unlocked bootloaders.
Download the Firmware from Sammobile or use SamFirm. Flash it through ODIN and you are good to go.:good:
hi folks,
my 930f exynos is currently on marshmallow BLP2, its an XEU csc, unbranded UK. i would like to go back to APC8 firmware. am i right in thinking that i can just flash the official APC8 XEU firmware from sammobile? i thought i could but also got some advice elsewhere that i couldn't because of the bootloader? confused as i thought the bootloader was unlocked on exynos devices.

Hi mate
As far as i know there should be no problem , 99.99% of the people had no problem some people had issues not downgrading but with some minor functionality
