[Q] Still Having Problems with Apps

I have Feedly, Appy Gear and Vivino installed on my Note 3 , but they do not show up at all in Gear Manager or on my watch. In fact, no downloaded apps appear on my watch. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Gear Manager , reset my Gear 2 and still no luck. The clock faces download and show up just fine.

I have the same problem but mine eventually says "app not installed"... I cant find an answer for this ANYWHERE! its pretty annoying.. Hopefully someone has an answer.

The apps will install for me , but only on my phone, not on the watch. I have not found an answer anywhere for this as well.

I solved my "app not installed" error. I was running a custom rom and kernel. Went back to stock rooted and solved the problem.

I'm fully stock and un rooted and everything works as it should be. If u are rooted that might be the problem.

I had the same issue on an unrooted verizon note 3. Solution was to install a different version of Gear manager via the link below:

I have tried all the released versions of gear manager, none solved the "app not installed" for me.

My bad, it wasnt gear manager - it was Samsung Apps.

Getting the GEAR S2 to work with CM13 (or any custom rom)

To get the Gear S2 to work in CM13 follow these steps:
1) In build.prop edit anything that says samsung to something else (I put "htc"). I only found two, manufacturer and brand. This will now break the app store ability to download the app(s)
2) Download and install the APK for the Gear Manager and the Accessory Service (and maybe the S2 Plugin)
example:

3) You may encounter some app closures and stuff right away (I did) but wait for a minute and try again, eventually things settle down service launch and you can connect to your gear.
*Things to note: It will make you hard reset your watch, but you won't lose your purchases, just will have to reset everything and re-download everything.
That's it. I have my Gear s2, working with CM13 as we speak.

Also FYI, once done, rerooting does not stop the Gear Manager app from working.

I don't need to do any of that. I can get it to work fine with no issues running cm13 on nexus 6p.i can download apps etc. On occasion I need to u install the Samsung software and reinstall it after an update but that is it. The only issue I have is the Samsung watch update which is encrypted. I need to use my note for that

Yeah we get that if you are on a nexus it just works... this is for the people on samsung phones with rooted roms where it doesn't work...

The post did not stipulate what phones you needed to do this for so i was just posting my experience, so it does not confuse people unnecessarily

I don't have a nexus/LG phone so I couldn't tell you for sure, but it doesn't hurt to try it out if you are open to the risks involved. Just make sure you have a backup. Keep in mind that loading the update from the app store will then break the app again. So use the downloaded apks.

I have big problems with cm13 and the connection to my gear s2 classic! The way from you are OK but every 5 minutes the gear plugin break down and I have to delete the gear with titanium backup and flash it again.... That's bul****!

Same here: it first worked but then I updated the ROM (Resurrection Remix to Jun 2016 version). After that I got Gear Plugin FC all the time. It is to do with the "Notification access" which is enabled for Samsung Gear.
If you disable that no FC anymore. Confusing. Sometimes it helped to disable and enable bluetooth. Grrr. What a mess.

Use the one I linked to. The thread the op linked to hasn't been updated. You probably need the most up to date apk's.

It was working until now. It seems like Samsung has changed the way of detecting cm 13. The Samsung Gear App says it can not connect because some Gears are not supported with my phone (S4 mini CM 13).
I changed every "samsung" in the build.prop to "htc" (3x).
Can someone help?

when i change the word samsung with htc and i go for the save... it doesn't save !!! it says some error...!!! any ideas...??

I reinstalled the rom and cleared everything.
Now its working again.

I have a great problem - the gear manager (play store app: samsung gear) had always force closes if i try to connect in this app. - he find the watch-(and in the settings i saw that the watch is connected) but if i try to connect by the app with the button:connecting with gear it closed after seconds. No matter if the watch is ist on or off. Different is if the watch never been paired before . than the app closed after conecting with the clock while the clock configurate itsself- without finishing the konfiruration.
conecting with a samsung galaxy phone works.
same problem with two different gear s2.
Phone :Xiaomi Mi4 Android 6.0.1
Rom Miui 8- Multirom 6.9.1 Beta
Can anyone help or had a gear s2 conected with a xiaomi mi4- maybe with a different rom?

I have the venom rom for the htc one m9

i have the same Problem with force close of Gear Software on Venom Rom 9.0.0.0 for HTC M7 with the Gear S3.
The only solution for me was to try different ROMS , now i am on Nougat 7.1 SLIM Rom and ist working .
But i want to stay with Venom (sense Rom) ..... searching for solution

I solve it by installing older version of Gear app:

...and keep it out from updates.
Other way, it'll continue to work, but if you'll try to enter Gear App to manage applications or watch faces, you'll get the FC message you're used with.

You mean something like "Parse Error"...
Because "few" minutes ago I have updated my old GT-I9300 from Android 4.1 to 4.3... with more luck.

you may uninstall the latest version, then try the downloaded one.

Bixby ICS Update?

Starting yesterday I keep getting the notification "Update ICS? A new version of Interactive and Customized Services (ICS) is available. You need to update to continue." whenever I open up Bixby (from home or button) but hitting the update button simply closes the prompt window and opens it again without updating anything. Any help? Canadian model SM-G955W. I've tried deleting data and cache from app settings.

install aptoide ...go to update in aptoide and you should see the updates there

Go to apk mirror and fins the app under Samsung

What is the application called?

Has anyone figured this out yet? Installing the latest version from apkmirror does not fix the issue btw. Seems like quite a screw up on Samsung's part. Anywhere to download the new version of ICS and install it manually?

Well in my case when i got the ICS notice ,
i kept on tapping on it ,whenever notice kept on appearing.
I still vaguely remember i still switched from my wifi to cellular 4G.
Don't know if this helped, but for me it seems so .!
and eventually it did some update ? Result no more nagging ICS notice to update.
( i was busy on phone with other apps and not really paying attention to notice )
I am currently on Bixby v 1.9.26
Plse note,
that above happened about 2 days ago .
and i have no issues with Bixby or nagging ICS update since then .
My first impression, after update was
that Bixby seemed much more smoother and responsive .?
Now it just seems normal .!!
but then the " saying" goes something like this......
" ...first impression are normally right/correct ? "
Bottom line is Bixby is very smooth for me !
If phone wakes up( sleep mode etc ) i normally have to double tap but after that one tap .
99 % of time it's working, with only one button tap .

Facing the same issue. Tried. Switching from. Wifi to data and still try into update.

I got bixby to work galaxy s7 edge stock by downloading (Personalization Service Client 1.1.01-0) from apk mirror. Then redown load the 5 bixby updates from apk mirror.

Mine did at first but after reinstalling all 5 apk for bixby in apk mirror i got popup too allow permissions and it worked after that

This is the correct answer. I didn't even have to update ICS after installing THIS. Bixby just works!

I downloaded the file service client 1.1.01-0 cleared bixby cache and data. Restart and installed bixby again... all working on my SGS6 edge... so big thanks to YOG16063

Samsung S3 Gear VS Sony Xperia Z5 Premium

Hi all,
i just got my Samsung S3 Gear classic and i was excited to get it working with my mobile. I download the Samsung gear app and turn the watch on, found the watch in the app and followed the messages. It asks to pair the devices and then to download the Samsung plug in and accessory from the apps stores. After completing these actions, the Samsung Gear app tries to connect to the phone and then the screen changes and shows the phone is pair but not connected. See pictures attached. This means i can only pair the phone but i can use the app to enable the functionalities. Every time i tried to connect it just takes me to the same screen. I tried resetting the watch, installing again all programs, tried the watch with Samsung phone (works fine), tried other watches with my mobile (same issue repeated) etc but never made them work.
Does anyone knows how to make the gear app work with the Z5? Are these devices compatible?

Yes, installed the first Samsung Manager and it asked for downloading others part like accessory, samsung account and others. After manager searching Gear and after click on my Gear name it launch a screen like your shot, after a while it say connected and asked for loggin on samsung account....

I have a Z5 Premium and it works fine with my S3. Are you on the stock Sony ROM?

The problem might be a rooted or modified phone.

Did you try the modified gear app in my link?

I started with the watch, then downloaded the gear app and let the gear app download its services. it was very straightforward

I just installed the Samsung Gear App. So yes, download them and just install them.
The other 3 apps are installed automatically from PlayStore. If not you can install them manually too.

Hi Maik, i downloaded the gear app and manually tried to install it. I got the message that cannot be installed because it conflicts with another package same name. See photo attached. I am not sure what can i do. I uninstalled all previous Samsung applications.

This means the Samsung Gear app from PlayStore is still installed.
Check settings > apps and uninstall it > Reboot your phone.

Did that and still get the same message. Does not allow me to install the app.
I always stuck on the same step, pairing the phone and while gear tries to connect then return to the previous screen and do not connect...not sure i got many options here.
