Here are the unofficial releases of our ROM. These get automatically uploaded every night.
You can check the changes in the changelog. The nightlies may not be 100% stable, if you want a
stable release, you're best off sticking to the official releases.​
SVN Trunk
We use SVN to host our ROM project. This means you can
stay up to date with the ROM change by change. If you can't wait for the official
releases this lets you download the rom the minute we make a change to it.
It also stops you needing to download the full ROM every time, as it
downloads only the changed files for that particular revision.

As you've no doubt noticed, the famous Renovate theme is still MIA. It will be reappearing in one form or another, just not sure exactly when yet. In the meantime, you can get your theming fix using the add-ons available in myHub (coming soon).

Renovate Full Coloured Themes​
After long consideration, I have selected three themes that I would love to share with the Renovate public. These themes are based on the latest Milestone and unfortunately, they will not work on any earlier versions of the Renovate ROM. These themes are fully inverted with 4 wonderfully assorted colouring schemes that I hope you'll find enjoyable. Please make a full back-up of your current settings before flashing. If you want to replace the wallpapers, just apply a wallpaper of your preference. All themes have been tested for some time now and I don't anticipate any issues.

This is a beta version of the Razor Chrome Red theme. This theme is based on the latest Milestone and should not be flashed on anything older. There will be an update in a few days once a couple of apks have been moved over to system. As always, make a back-up of your current settings. Download and flash. Enjoy. Any requests of issues can be posted in the thread and I will look into it. I don't anticipate anything going wrong as I ran this theme for a while now.

This is a Beta version of the Razor Black Theme for Sense 6. It has taken me a long time to get this theme in a position to publish. There will be some theming inverting issues, so please report. I checked as much as I could but I am sure I missed something.
This theme is based on the stock theme (the green wallpaper theme). All major apks are inverted. Please make a complete backup of your current settings. Again, report and issues regarding the theme here so that it can be corrected in the first update.

Does Sense 6 support Sprint?
Answer: The Sprint support is being worked on but currently the rom is GSM only. Team Renovate appreciates our Sprint users and we are actively working to get Sprint support built into the ROM, as well as all other U.S. specific carriers
My GPS isn't working on ATT ! How do I fix it?
Answer: Simply flash SVN or Nightly Revision 60 or newer and choose full aroma install. Choose ATT for the carrier and then continue with your usual settings
What's this I see in the thread about editing my build.prop? What's a build.prop?
Answer: That was a workaround for early version, flashing SVN 60 or newer will eliminate the need for any such edits.
How do I remove or change the HEQS in notification drop down? How do I change from sense to android toggle?
ANSWER: Tap the DATE in the notification pulldown to remove them or switch between sense and android
Why is there no clock in my blinkfeed?
Answer: The clock will appear in blinkfeed when you set the blink feed as the default home screen
How can I get rid of the pastel green?
Answer: Go to Settings/Personalize/Themes and choose one of the other themes. That's right, Sense 6 has a built in theme chooser!
Does ART work?
Answer: Not currently working on any Sense 6 roms, we'll let you know when that changes
Should I do a clean install?
Answer: Clean installing is best especially when coming from a different rom or sense version, but you can try installing without a factory reset.
NOTE: Do not report bugs or problems in the rom thread until you have done a clean install after wiping with a factory reset.
Can I odex this rom upon installing it?
Answer: Currently odexing the rom causes problems booting, the developers will add that as a working feature soon!
Why is my phone bootlooping?
You probably chose to odex it (see above) and to fix it simply choose not to odex it.
Why are my icons so white and bright?
Answer: Renovate believes in building a high quality base rom for the foundation of our work. Renovate themers and developers are working hard to bring you Renovate Theme and a long list of features and mods. Sense 6 is the biggest update/change HTC has thrown our way so we are building from the ground up instead of simply porting a theme from one base to another.

1) Blinkfeed clock is only activated when you set Blinkfeed as home screen

Q: Does ART work?
A: No. It only works on odexed ROMs. This one is deodexed.
Q: What is the format for setting the custom clock?
A: Use [H] for hours, [M] for minutes, and for seconds. Here are some examples for 2:07 (+ 5 seconds):
HH:MM = 02:07
HH:MM:SS = 02:07:05
H:MM = 2:07
HH = 02
H = 2
MM = 07
M = 7
SS = 05
S = 5
Q: When is the next release coming?
A: There are going to be no announcements of scheduled release dates for this ROM.

Q: My benchmark scores are lower than when I used _________.
A: That's nice, but it doesn't mean much. As long as the speed of the phone is to your satisfaction everything is working as it should. Benchmark scores are used to show off if anything. Now you may be asking, "Why don't benchmark scores mean anything?" Well it's because there are so many factors that can alter a benchmark score that it makes them unreliable as a performance indicator.
Q: What benchmark app do you recommend?
A: If I had to choose, Vellamo Mobile Benchmark
Q: How can I help with this ROM?
A: Rating the thread 5 stars helps a lot. I don't really need testers, but would prefer to have someone in addition to myself try to port some mods over to the ROM. For example, if someone in the thread wanted a launcher with different modifications, I wouldn't really have the time do it it all by myself. People who contribute apps, themes, etc will have their mod listed under "Downloads" and will have their name in the credits.

Did this version have issues with Bluetooth? I haven't been keeping up with the international version of things.. I know the latest OTA from at least Verizon included a very important fix to Bluetooth connectivity..

Dirty Unicorns (DU) is a custom ROM originally based off AOKP, but now based from OmniROM. DU brings you a great mix of stability and customization. - Make sure you have TWRP or CWM Selinux compatible recovery (TWRP 2.6.3.0 or newer recommended)

Steps for a successful boot and good experience
(no matter if you're new to this ROM or flashing updates)
1. Make sure you're using the latest recovery for your device
- https://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
- http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2
- https://goo.im/devs/OpenRecovery/
2. Download the latest update for your device
(either check http://download.dirtyunicorns.com or hit the TEST Builds tab HERE and find the latest)
3. Move anything that you think is important over to your Desktop or upload it to dropbox or whatever (pictures, music, etc)
4. Backup your apps via Titanium backup or equivalent app and either upload them to dropbox or onto your Desktop
5. Reboot into recovery
6. Wipe everything. This doesn't mean just system or factory settings. This means EVERYTHING!
Tap on Wipe/Advanced Wipe and check the following and swipe to wipe
- Dalvik Cache
- Cache
- Data
- Internal Storage
- System
- MicroSD (some devices don't have this option)
7. Move the ROM zip over to your sdcard either by mounting USB storage or adb
8. Flash the ROM zip
9. Let it boot
10. Reboot back into recovery
11. Flash whatever GAPPS (as long as it's 4.4.X)
12. ENJOY!!

I may not always have time to check this thread. I usually stay on top of things, but real life happens. When reporting bug's, or requesting new features, the best way to make sure your heard, and a sure fire way to get things done is using our Jira site. There's always someone monitoring this, so if I'm tied up, there's a good chance that by reporting here, your issues will be resolved quickly. Remember, before you post anything, take into consideration what your issue is. Could it be a gapps issue? Are you running a different kernel than the one provided that could be causing problems? Are you running any unsupported Xposed modules? If not, use this tool to your advantage and make life easier for us all! You need to create a simple user name and password to access the site. It'll only take a few seconds, and Neither of these can be seen by us, it's just a security measure. I am on sprint and havent received an incoming call to verify, but I have an issue hanging up an ended call, it freezes for about 20 sec's or longer and then I have to close it and clear recents.

Venom Registration
Why is it required?
The Account is required to identify you as unique user, to be able to comment and rate downloads in the hub. Also there's a more complex user management system behind it to identify team members, beta testers etc.
Another reason why we implemented the registration is to protect our work and content. We suffer under some "developers" in other foreign forums that steal our work, sell it as their own rom and work and even use the hub content and so they use the bandwidth of our servers.
How to and trouble shooting

I didn't get the activation mail
Open VenomHub and click resend a couple of times. Also please check your spam folder, might be thrown in there. Also please be patient. it can take a few minutes till the activation mail is sent...if lots of users requested a registration it can also take half an hour or longer.​
Other Issues
Independent if you already confirmed your account or not, you should have in "Settings->Accounts & Sync" after you entered and sent the registration data.
You might try to remove the account and register again. Probably choose another email account if you got one.​

Perform a Nandroid backup (of just Data if you wish)
Flash the ROM and select the option to "Wipe Data"
Try replicating the issue
If the problem persists, capture a logcat and send it to me.

to capture a logcat, If you have fastboot setup, you already have the drivers installed and probably already have adb.exe in the same folder as fastboot.exe:
Open the Command Prompt (run it as Administrator if UAC is enabled in Windows)
run adb logcat >c:\logcat.txt
To capture an FC, use the command adb shell "logcat | grep AndroidRuntime" >c:logcat.txt
Press Control-C to stop logging
Paste the contents of c:\logcat.txt into http://pastebin.com

6. Whats the md5 sum thing?
It ensures, that the rom is downloaded correctly and completly to avoid weird issues when installing/using the rom. Google for "md5 sum checker" and you should find what you need.​
7. I found a theme or mod, will it work on this rom?
It's NOT recommended to use mod/themes that dont clearly state, that they are compatible with our rom. Thems/Mods always use framework files which will brake mods/stuff in our rom.​

Ensure you used the xda search, google and your brain before asking a question in the thread. If you cant find an answer yourself we will answer your question for sure! (-:​

Q: How can I run adbd in root mode and get permission to "adb push" and "adb shell" commands?
A: boot.img in our ROM is secured, in order to use unsecured boot.img you have to set SeLinux to "Permissive" otherwise MTP and ADB will not work, and because it reduce the security we decided not to set it as default prop. But if you still want to use unsecured boot.img, which will allow you to run adbd in "insecure" mode, you can flash attached zip (Sprint, VZW and TMOUS has separated kernel, all the rest can use the regular one), but just be sure to set SeLinux to permissive in Tweaks app under Advanced tab otherwise MTP and ADB won't work as mentioned above!

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. This is due to restoring data/apps from Google. Go ahead and clear data and cache for theme chooser and theme provider then reboot you should be good moving forward.
I changed my LCD density and now the navbar looks weird, what gives?
This is currenly an issue that we are aware of and addressing. For now after you changed density reset navbar layout or stay on the stock density.

This ROM is still in its infancy stage, it doesnt have the unicorn kernel nor all the benefits of a real DU ROM, I suggest for all to wait a few months if you want DU as a daily driver. Only use this for testing or if you are a flashoholic.

Did I say it didnt work well? I just said as we have many custom ROMs you should just wait before making this your main ROM, since this is the first build. (Lots of things mentioned in the OPs post about the ROM are actually not in it cause he took over the project and started from scratch I guess.)

This is a private issue and doesn't belong to the rom.
Wifi works well.

Okay. To clarify. This is incorrect. All Hardware works fine. It has every DU feature it can make use of, and the unicornblood kernel comment is invalid, as the 'unicornblood' kernel has no official requirements, and only is labeled as 'unicornblood' when the device maintainer decides it, and the kernel I have shipped this with shares almost the exact same feature set as the Nexus 6 unicornblood kernel. I'll relabel it unicornblood in the next build.
In other words, I strongly disagree with you on this comment. I use it as my daily driver.

I did not say the ROM is bad in any way expect not to use it as a daily driver. Tho
To be fair I was grumpy as hell last time , and I was hyped so much when you released it cause i've read that the unicornblood has voltage control and other good things in it, but mostly voltage control, since I want that sooo much, yet no one offers it. I didnt have much time last time so i did everything in a hurry. Now I see that the voltage control was for 5.1.1 ... i feel ashamed and im sorry.. Im impulsive sometimes...

Hrm. Please test and let me know. You see, my G3 is a prototype with no IMEI/CID, so, I can't test RIL/Data settings, only confirm that RIL/Data work (which they do).

I can completely relate, and get it. No harm, no foul .
If voltage control was possible in 5.1.1, I can definitely take a look at it.
I'll be more apt to look into it if you can link me a kernel for another msm8916 device that has voltage control. Or, even one from a different chipset altogether.

Huh. Regardless, I'll make it Moto G3 in the next build, as that's how stock lists it apparently. Due to the prototype nature of my device, I never had stock firmware, and my 'stock' version lists it as 'Moto G 2015' in the build properties. Moto must have opted to change it later down the road in development.
