i want to install xposed on lollipop D838 Taiwan 20D.. i should flash custom recovery..right?
where can i find recovery related to my phone ? how can i flash it?

just install philz recovery and flash tru apps settings.. and search for lolipop expose freeze lg cover. install xposed for lolipop guide

I flashed a twrp recovery the one which has cmd and we have to select numbers and the language is wired. but after that i couldn't flash kdz and after several days i managed to flash tot and bring back my phone .
I mean there is no specefic topic for d838 lollipop recovery like other device.
I always get my answer about g pro 2 from other sites and xda usually is not helpful..

my phone was the hk version to start with
i did a dirty flash ... and didnt lose a thing
everything it works fine .. wifi is fine ... not sure about lte
and the best part is ... its ROOTED

so i could flash this rom and su
Now i m on 5.0.2 i am not sure the recovery works or not
I try for 6 time to download the rom, but always give me error, because the download always stop in the middle of downloading, and i need to insert a username or password to resume it, maybe the connection timeout since my net is so slow on that server, only 70kbp/s download rate :'(,
I hope someone can mirror it to other site like mega ,

You can root Lollipop only if you flash using custom recovery, then immediately flash super user.
So far no other way to get root for this phone running Lollipop

the rom from lg is not in zip
so if u wanna flash with root

Do you have a moto g? If so you have to update the bootloader.

to flash recovery partition on device you have to
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Not having separated recovery is probably the thing that bothered me most in Sony development.

Bootloader version you can see in EMMA after you plug in the phone, about certain versions, I don't know.

CWM is all the time being the Best and popular recovery and have a backup option!

It is a wrong thread but screw it.
Because I build CM ROMs and CM recovery is default there.
I do agree that they've dropped CWM way too early, but I think it's not compatible with 5.0 zip layout, so it's either this or TWRP (which is kind of an OmniROM thing).

OK thanks for the reply. I have used the fastboot method to flash the recovery and found no change to that part of the system.
Just flashed new bootloader and yes: PM is working now with latest kernel/AOSP.

Please I need any custom recovery for my device, I can't root it. Its android with mt6580 chipset lollipop 5.1.
I have stock recovery.img and boot.img. I've tried every means I know about porting recoveries as I am not a dev all to no avail. Please help even if it is a tutorial for creating it. Thank you.

C1) I flashed your recovery by flashtool, then I pressed and held power button + volume up button, my phone showed up a menu with 3 options: "-recovery, -normal boot, -fastboot". I chose "recovery" but nothing happened, it rebooted.
C2) If I choose recovery option with my stock recovery, it show up a android robot and a notice "No task!"
use CF-Auto-Root to root your phone.

I found one and also flashed it with rashr but my original recovery is now gone and it shows blank screen when I boot into recovery... recovery of KitKat version will work on lollipop version??
