ok I see, I noticed when leaving an app it locks it immediately, would be good if you could add time before app locks again, then we can set a custom value for example 30 seconds...

yes this feature is on the top of the list.
Great app, (and I'm not criticizing at all) but if the phone is locked via fingerprint anyway, why is this necessary? Purely curious

Now you can lock your mobile apps using your fingerprint.
• No Peaking in recent apps
• Fully optimized
• No battery Drain
Note :
• you must register your fingerprint in your device
[Settings]> [Security]> [Nexus Imprint]
• Turn On Accessibility Service , this app will not work without enabling it.
[Settings]>[Accessibility]> turn on > [App Locker : Service]
• Enable Device Admin to prevent unauthorized uninstall.
[Settings]> [Security]> [Device Administrators]> turn on > [App Locker]
Please let me know your thoughts and review.

Good work on this. A few things.
Somebody already mentioned the timeout after exiting an app.
What about the app icon on the screen where it asks for the fingerprint?

This is so you can choose specific apps to require your fingerprint to open. It's not necessary but is additional security some people can appreciate.
Let's say you let someone borrow your phone to make a call or look at a video. Then they get nosy and want to check out your text messages... Or maybe they want to be funny and open up Snapchat/Instagram and post something funny on your behalf. Having these apps locked will avoid all that.

Any chance you can add fingerprint for the appdraw that would be great.thanks
Guys please check the update , its awesome
You can see the app contents in the recent apps menu and when you open an app, it will show the contents for a split second before the fingerprint scanner shows up. That screen also looks like something out of iOS, it doesn't look material and the arrows to go to the pin could lol better or say PIN so there's some sort of indication you can switch. Otherwise, it does as it says and works well. You should also add a option to disable based on WiFi network or location.

The power button on my N1 has been giving me fits, and given the number of people I've read about with "dead" power buttons, I think mine is going out so I'm trying to preserve it as long as possible.
I enabled trackball wake (using CM6) which takes care of 1/2 the equation, but I need a good lockscreen app (just something to make the phone go to sleep). I found one in the market called Lock Screen Enabler, but it's not a "true" lockscreen app and it's very buggy, causing all sorts of problems for me.
I've been a web developer for 8 years and recently got into Android development (which I hope to be doing full-time soon), so I thought I'd just code a quick app for personal use in 5 minutes.
The problem, however, is that the DEVICE_POWER permission is needed in order to call goToSleep() and from what I've read so far from other online posts, this permission is only granted to native system applications.
Since my phone is rooted, I even tried granting my application SU privileges, but that doesnt seem to work either.
So, my question boils down to how do I grant my application DEVICE_POWER permission? I figure if anyone out there knows the answer, it's going to be someone on XDA as this place is full of geniuses. Thanks in advance!!
UPDATE: I've attached the finished app. Made this for personal use but if anyone wants to use it they are welcome to. My only gripe about it right now is the "screen flicker" that happens when you launch it because it's trying to launch an app that immediately locks the screen and finishes itself. If I can figure out how to get the app to launch in a smaller window maybe I can minimize the size to reduce the screen flicker. But for now, this works and I can set it to launch when I click the clock on Fancy Widget, so I'm happy. Thanks again to everyone who offered answers to my questions. Just another reason why I love the Android development community!!

It seems that you'll need to add the application as a device administrator. There seems to be some decent information half way down this page under Device policy manager: Link.
I'd be interested in using this application as I can't change the icon of my previously mentioned widget.
Edit: More information here as well: Link.

I will probably still go ahead and create one. I like how with FancyWidget you can set it so clicking the clock will launch an app. Unfortunately it doesn't work with widgets, so I need an extra icon on my home screen just to lock it. If you have an icon you'd like me to use, feel free to share and I'll put it in
And thx for the info!!
I would be happy with any icon to be honest, I just don't like the lock screen widget one Good luck bud

Good call. Thx. However, I also came up with a work-around for ppl who are just as lazy as myself. There are 2 icons in the launcher. The first will lock the screen (once you enable the app as a device admin). The second will disable the app as a device admin, allowing you to uninstall at your will.
I really intended for this app to be for personal use, but if anyone wants it I'll put it up here for you to download. If you'd rather I remove the second launcher icon and just let you to disable it through Security settings, I will also do this (as really, I don't plan on uninstalling any time soon so this is fine for myself).
Thanks to everyone who helped out!!!

Application is in the OP. Have at it
Great, works perfect on MIUI 0.9.30
Does the job perfectly! I especially like how it runs as an app so I can change the icon
You're a lifesaver, or should I say power button saver
Thanks so much.
I tried to develop something similar before but got stuck. Saved me some time!
Thanks for creating such useful app for my N1. My power bt is fine, but I would like to preserve it to powering up/down the phone.
BTW, I also downloaded Lock Screen Widget to test it out. Is it possible that you can make your app to shut off the screen smoother, like LSW? I like it you set it up as an app, which is super useful for me set up as a gesture swipe on my LauncherPro dock icons.
Thanks again and keep up your good work!
Thanks again, your app is really great. But could you add a option to map it to the search button (long press) please?
Thank you!

2nd: I want to help you to translate into Spanish (my native language) (obiously for free).

Great app.
1. I would suggest for Relock Policy to add the option: Lock when screen is off
2. a transparent theme would be nice showing once own wallpaper behind the lock screen
3. Third eye takes pictures but does not send them to the email address
4. Android System is locked. i.e. I try to open a YouTube link but have no default app, so first I have to unlock Android System in order to choose an app to open the link. Can't find a way to switch that off, it's a bit annoying
5. Could you add a dark theme for the app
6. Also I would use color to show that an app is selected to be locked. I have showed your app to several people and most agreed it's not always clear whether the lock is inactive (grey) or active (black).
PS still waiting for Promo Code
Hi, i will test it and try get it working for Android L, thanks for pointing it out!

Hi, thanks for liking my app. After enabling the advanced protection, the app is virtually impossible to get through. Although a user has reported a bug which needs to be fixed to increase the security (which is in progress), i feel it is safe to say that AppLockZilla is quite strong on security.

Hi. I will go straight to the point. This app needs a lot of work. I don't mean any bad publicity or any mean comment or anything like that. But from what I have seen in my experience with my phone, it is easy to go around the app and get to the locked app. I have "long press back to kill" enabled in my developer options. When I launch a presumed locked app, I just have to long press my back button and it kills the lock of your AppLockZilla and the locked app launches like there was nothing to lock at all.
My previous app lock didn't have this security breach so I quickly went back to it.
You have to fix it very quickly enough because now that some people know it, things can happen. Sorry.
Brilliant. One question, is there a way to disable to lock on "Android System"? Every time I need to select an app to complete an action I have to input my code

Another problem I have found, is that the it keeps the phone awake alot. BetterBatteryStats shows it has caused 98% of the wakeup alarms. So had to uninstall for now because that was using alot of battery. Its a shame because I really like the app, will use again when its fixed

Alright. Cool! It is a good app BTW. I really liked the knock code like feature that it has l like the LG G3 (Tap lock). It was this feature I was using when I found the bug.
The app lock app I'm using right now is called Droid Protector by @1tek. It is really simplistic, but when I tried your app I liked it and its features until I found the bug. So I went back to the previous one.

I really like the media vault, two things to that.
1st is it possible to have/make "folders" or "categories" in the vault? So that I can sort them?
2nd I was not sure at first how to select a picture or video, even though (after reading the FAQ - which is great that's included in the app) it's obvious that long pressing would work. I was looking for little check fields in the pics and vids. Long pressing is better, maybe you can make a pop-up or write it on the background of the vault. "Long press file/picture/video to select"
I also think that a file vault would be a great idea.
Hi,
Important : Requires ROOT
This is a simple App that emulates the click of Power Button.
Handy when u want to reduce wear and tear of the physical button or if the button is not working.
Currently the following method of Trigger are available:
- Using the Swipe Up Assist action which usually opens the Google Now App
- Application icon (In Launcher)
- Shortcut
- Intent Support - Use 'in.pathri.screenoff.SCREEN_OFF' as Intent action to trigger screen off from ANY App, including TASKER
Following are planned to be added:
- Widget (Is it Needed?? )
- Tasker Extension
Advantage over other similar apps in Market:
The usual 'Screen Off' 'Screen Lock' Apps that are available in market, makes the 'Smart Lock' feature introduced in Lollipop not work. Also this makes the timeout period set in the 'Automatically Lock' security settings to not work.
Since my App uses shell commands (and hence the need for Root) to emulate Power Button press, both Smart Lock and 'Automatically Lock' settings work.
Disclaimer:
AFAIK should not cause any problems in any device since nothing dangerous is being used. But still the usual disclaimer : ' I am not responsible for any damage done to your device, hand, home etc... LOL '
Have tested so far in the following Mobiles. Would be glad if others test it out in various mobiles and report here.
Nexus 5
HTC One X
Change Log:
v0.1 - 5th Jan:
- Initial Version with only Google Now Swipe gesture support
v0.2 - 8th Jan:
- Added the following:
Application launcher
Shortcut
Intent Support : 'in.pathri.screenoff.SCREEN_OFF'
v1.0 - 18th Jan:
Modified code to support more Devices. Probably must work in all Android devices irrespective of Android Version
v1.1 - 20th Jan
Shouldn't be showing in recents anymore
v1.2 - 20th March
Added icon for the swipe up gesture
Fixed a bug that was causing adding shortcut to crash in certain launchers(AFAIK GEL based)
v2.0b - 30th March
Adding a new material icon - thanks to @slider112

Regarding overriding the swipe up gesture in ur Note 3 , I think it might be possible with an Xposed module. I have never written one, so not Sure. I am ready to try to make a Xposed module, If it's ok for u to test it out in ur mobile (have no previous experience in writing Xposed module, so a word of caution )

Hi, The app is working great but you should add a fingerprint swipe indicator and also even if I thinks that It's hard but It would be great if you add some feature like re-lock the apps just after the screen is locked so users don't have to swipe there finger every time when switching between apps, and some other feature.
Anyway thanks.
very interesting app...Just wondering:
1) can we choose which (specific) fingerprint to use? (assume we have a few registered)
2) can you make it compatible for Lollipop?
Thanks

Does this hide the content of an app in the notification area as well? My whatsapp shows the message contents in the notification area. If I lock my Whatsapp, would the notification message content be hidden?

I think you can Hide Specific App notifications if you long press on the notification and choose not to be notified. This will disable it system wide, so you will have to periodically check for new messages.
I am not sure but you may be able to find a launcher that allows Home Screen Icons message counters, where it displays a number of missed calls, new messages, new emails, etc. Whatsapp seems to be popular enough that I would think it would have support.

Got the paid version. Works really well. I do have a suggestion though. Would it be possible to have an app unlocked till the next time screen is locked atleast as a settings option. Would be more convenient to use that way.

The update is awesome buddy. But it still shows the locked page for a second before the fingerprint screen appears.

Warning!! Do not install goodlock on the fold 2 It will brake apps moving to the cover screen.
Okay so today i had a major issue after receiving my fold 2, Basically when i enabled an app to go over to the cover screen and then closed my phone on said app, the phone would just lock and then app would not appear on the cover screen and i had to unlock it every time, and no matter what i do or settings you enable there was no way to fix it, I know this feature because i use it on the OG fold with no problems.
After three factory resets i manged to nail it down to the goodlock app causing the problem, At first i thought it was me copying the settings from my old fold, But on my third factory reset, I tried enabling an app to move to cover screen and it worked, I did not copy any of my settings or apps over this time and then i only installed goodlock as i had a feeling and ran the app, and suddenly that app to cover screen was not working again, Uninstalling good lock clearing the cache and restarting do not fix it, The only way to fix it is by doing a factory rest.
So i did that copied over everything for my og fold other than goodlock and it works fine and allows apps to move over to the cover screen when you close the fold, Even running the goodlock app once will brake the move apps to cover screen feature on your fold 2 so do not run it until an update from Samsung.
The issue only exists on the fold 2 and goodlock works fine with moving apps to the cover screen on the fold 1.

Is that confirmed?
And is that for the main Good Lock app, or some specific applet from Good Lock?
There is just so much great functionality in Good Lock that would really suck if we cannot use it.
Thank you in advance for any insight.

I am pretty sure it is for multi star then one than let's you edit the aspect ratios, but I am not installing it to find out ??

Anyone that has received their Z Fold2, that is willing to test by installing the Good Lock without Multi Star?
Wow, that sucks. I was hoping to use good lock to change the folder layout since I hate it when I open a folder and it takes up the entire screen. Thanks for the heads up.
I've Good Lock installed on my Fold2, with Smart Switch copied all from Fold to Fold2:
NO problems at all with apps going to cover screen when closing the device.

LOL: are you kidding?
I don't want to reset my device, everything's working OK now... :highfive:
Actually if you just uninstall multistar and restart your Fold 2 everything starts working again. No need to factory reset. I know cause I just had this same issue happen to me and that's all I had to do.

Can you upload the apks of tasker and other one? In Netherlands it's not available and I am not sure where to download the apk. If you have link that also should be fine

Samsung MultiStar 3.3.40
An update of MultiStar has been released, that fixes the "App continuity"-bug (Main to Front screen):
I♡Galaxy Tablet added. (Tablet only)
-Supports wireless keyboard sharing (Try using the keyboard book cover as a BT keyboard on your phone)
-Whenever possible, we added a feature that supports vertical apps to display as much as possible in landscape mode.
I♡Galaxy Foldable (foldable only)
-Fixed a non-operation error that continues to use the front screen
Samsung MultiStar 3.3.40 (Android 10+)
Good Lock just provided an update to MultiStar that corrects this issue.

Use Nice Lock, it's basically good lock, but you don't have to worry about masking location to use it, I have the same problem, and also have good lock, but using nice lock is just easier

Get it from this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-nicelock-goodlock-2019-launcher-pie-t3908648
Good Lock is now available in Europe. No need to use a VPN or NiceLock anymore.
I have Nicelock/Goodlock on my Chinese variant, it and all it's modules work just fine.
