edge rubbing wake yhing and one other

You guys know how we can rub the edge and get the clock and stuff to come on. Well why did it take so long to come on? It takes like a second or two. In that time i can just press the home button and see more than the edge offers. ... am i alone on this one?
Also, my weather edge sometimes displays the weather condtion graphic, sometimes it doesn't.

Try rubbing it (the edge panel) like a genie lamp and it will work.

It works, mine just takes like two seconds to light up, is that how yours does?

Seems about the same as you said 2 seconds.

is there an apk or a way to extract the apk to enable the edge rubbing feature?
it got disabled or does not exist in the 5.1.1

It depends on rom / kernel on 5.1.1.
I am on Micky387s kernel now and got it working (again).

I have the stock rom cok2 version. Would any kernel work with the stock cok2?

You can't.
For some reason they've removed it. Really annoying. The only version of the s6/edge that have it are At&t branded ones.

Hopefully this works on all versions. I've tested on a Verizon S6 Edge.

Yep, just like that. Except at least Verizon nuked that setting.
I think the option is only built in on the AT&T model from what I've heard.

That sucks. Why would a company need to nuke that option? Just ignorant.

I'm discovering more and more of these missing options as I use the S6.

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to know if it was possible to get the gs6 features on the gs6. I would like to get the contact shortcut on the right side for instance.
It would be great if someone was working on it.

The edge version has features? Here I was thinking it's a bent phone for $150aud more than the straight alternative.

It has a really nice quick access to 5 favourites contacts and a night clock. Both on the edge.

Edge Contacts on any phone.

Please give me the apk. It's not on play store in France

To activate Edge Contact in your device, you will need to swipe up from the home button. This will activate a selector on the first try, from there select Edge Contact as default and you should be good to go.

it work . you have to stay on the button samely if you try to open google search. choose edge contact and when you stay on the button for the second time it work.

I may have not express myself very well...
It works! When I hold on the home button I can access to the shortcut. I also set up Edge contact as default application for the home button. However, when I slide up over the home button nothing happen. And I can only click on the contact to call them...
Basicaly I only have circles and I can pick my favourite contacts but I was more looking for something like this: http://phandroid.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Samsung-Galaxy-S6-Edge-screen-settings-DSC08583.jpg or with options at least

Fantastic app, thanks given

I flashed the 925T firmware on my 920T. Only thing I had to do to make it work was use our own boot.img. The contact shortcuts are the only thing that worked as far as the edge features go, we'd need a kernel dev to fix an edge kernel to use the correct axes for touch.

flashed an s6 rom to an s6 edge because of your post. works as it should. maybe start a thread showing people how to flash s6 edge roms on the regular s6 and s6 roms on the edge. what do you think?

It's pretty straight forward. Flash the rom then flash a kernel for your device. Does the fingerprint sensor work for you? That's the only issue I had with 925T firmware, but it may have been caused from deodexing.

Yeah fingerprint still works

Samsung gear manager and Samsung accessory service for phones that can't install

Some phones can't install Samsung gear and Samsung accessory services from play store. The one plus 2 is one of those device.
Here is the two files needed.
Install gear and services and your good to pair. I hope Samsung makes this work with every phone.

Samsung Pay
Does anyone when our what's up with samsung pay app for the gear s2 is it out yet my watch says no payment app installed in the tap and pay section

Same problem here. I tried to use the tap-n-pay at a location where I normally use my Samsung Pay on my Galaxy S6 Edge, and nothing happened. On my Gear S2 watch I went into Settings/Connections/NFC, then scroll down to Tap and Pay - and I get a screen which says, "Tap and pay (then shows sketch of tap n pay) No installed payment apps"
And unfortunately there is no Samsung Pay app in the Gear app store. So upset about this.

Not for me. If the screen is on the always on clock then I get notifications. If its on the black only screen I get nothing. This isnt working like it should. Ive tired everything. Ive turned on always on mode and then turned of wrist gestures and the always on clock will only stay on for about an hour and then it will just be a black screen and Ill get nothing. With always on set to on and wrist gestures to on I will only get notification if the screen just turned off or always on clock showing.

Are you using the Oneplus 2?

I took it off the charger around 6am, streamed music almost the entire day. Made phone calls, played some games, etc.. and just put it on the charger around 7pm.
Still had 40% left.

I don't use face unlock so I don't know about that.
Double tap on AOD screen, apply fingerprint, boom your in. Works great.

If you could screen record your AOD settings and post it to YT or here in the group I'd owe you big time. I couldn't get the sloppy UI to work for my OP and it gave me a headache so I just gave up. Maybe a how to video on YT would be amazing. TIA if you get a chance

I gave it a try after learning about it from reading this thread and overall it's great, except for one flaw...
I like having lift to wake so I can use my fp to get into my phone. This AOD requires a double tap to wake.

I found this used about 30%+ of my battery yesterday when I had it on all the time, heh. Also automatic face unlock (where you hit the side button and it auto unlocks) does not seem to work but you can still double tap then hit the face unlock button. Seems like at that point you would just use the fingerprint unlock. It does have a lift to wake option but I could never get it working (the AOD would never turn on when the feature was enabled). I ended up setting it to only be on when the phone is charging and works great on my charging dock so I can see important stuff while in bed. It is a beta so hopefully there will be some improvements in the future.

Yeah if this app switched over to the stock ambient display on lift, it would be the perfect AOD solution in my opinion.

Always on. I actually started using this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.newgen.alwayson
I think it uses a little less battery, has way more features, and is a lot less buggy.

Its a good app but sadly auto lock dont work and also when the AOD is activated, it messes up the phone's screen on time as well because it's taken into account. Used the premium version for quite sometime now
