I have a bootloader unlocked XT1254 (Droid Turbo). Can I flash Moto Maxx 6.0? - Moto Maxx Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am wondering, is there a way I can flash a stock Moto Maxx 6.0 marshmallow ROM on my bootloader unlocked Droid Turbo (XT1254)? I know all Quark use the same Cyanogenmod, etc.
If it matters for Radios, I am in Canada, not the USA.
Thanks!

Yes. See Resurrection Remix in the development section. http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-maxx/development/rom-resurrection-remix-t3316232

As of now there is no official marshmallow sounds like it may have finally came out in Brazil but we are all still waiting for someone to capture a copy of it so it can be made into a twrp file so we are all still waiting it will be posted on here somewhere as soon as its available I'm sure

Same question here. Brazilian MM OTA was leaked today. How can I flash it on xt1254?

[Q] Razr Maxx HD - Need to go back to stock or a stock-based ROM

My dad has a Droid Razr Maxx HD and I currently have the bootloader unlocked and a custom Recovery and Rom on there.
He keeps having problems with whatever ROM I put on (forgot by now) and I'd like to put him back to stock or a ROM that based on stock system.
What version of Android is stock on now? I read that they will be rolling out a 4.4 upgrade sometime soon.
Any advice on which ROM to use or how to restore to stock?
Thanks

You should use RSD Lite and go back to this version: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/download.php?device=5&file=75

Ah, that's a useful site. Thanks.
If you had to choose a 4.4.2 ROM, which would you choose?
Also, what version of RSDLite?

I am partial to CyanogenMod myself. I think CM 11 is at a point now you could use it daily. They have an "M" build out there for it currently which they consider as stable as can be at the time and they allow bug reports on it.
One thing to take into consideration about these roms is they are all using the drivers from the 4.1.2 build thats official for the phone. All of them are waiting on the 4.4.2 update being released to have current Android 4.4 drivers tested to work for the device.
In a nutshell expect some sort of buggyness on roms but especially with custom roms on devices that are using old 4.1 based drivers.
Thanks again. I'll stick with Stock for my dad. I told him to get the HTC One M8 since he can't get the Nexus 5 for Verizon.
He'll be happy soon enough!

There is no stock firmware for the Photon Q which is 4.4. The only 4.4 stuff available are aftermarket ROM's.
The latest stock firmware image is 4.1.2, JellyBean.

So is there a way I can avoid the "4.4 bootloader needed" message when flashing roms?
Sent from my PHOTON Q running pacman

You shouldn't be flashing ROM's which require the 4.4 bootloader, you should only be flashing ROM's for the JBBL or JellyBean Bootloader, a bit of a misnomer but it just represents when the bootloader was released.
Motorola updated some of the msm8960's (Razr HD, Razr M and I think Atrix HD now too) but our Photon Q never saw any official update to 4.4 - so we do not have a 4.4 bootloader, and it looks like we never will.
Hence the need for the moto_msm8960_jbbl moniker/device.

Not 'officially' yet, although its not far away (a few weeks hopefully).
You can flash the cm nightlies, which are the latest of the latest. Or many other roms that are 5.1.1.
my understanding is that a non-official roms doesn't always "sit" well. So what is the latest official? 5.0.1? Thanks!
Oxygen OS and Cyanogen OS are both on 5.0.2
Thank you

New Moto G...update from 4.4.2 before rooting?

I just got a new Boost Moto G that came with 4.4.2. Upgrade is available. I plan to root and flash CM13 as I have on my GS3. Can I just go from here or should I upgrade to 5.1 via carrier before rooting and flashing a ROM? Does it make a difference? I have everything downloaded and ready to go for rooting on 5.1 as the phone was advertised as coming with 5.1 installed, and I hadn't planned for this situation.
Thanks!
Hi,
Can i ask what's the exact model of your Moto G ? (XT10**)
If it's a 1031, i suggest you to look the great emptiness of available roms before doing something...
Always if it's a 1031, suggest you to do your update and root it...sadly, i think it will be the most you can do for it but i hope i'm wrong and some dev will do something for you and other owners.
You can also unlock it anyway, install a custom recovery and flash it with optimized rom from here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-stock-motorola-lollipop-rom-t3017510
but i'm afraid it will be the best you can do for the moment...

I'm not sure, it says 175.44.1 falcon-cdma-boost, model Moto G. It was a "certified preowned" for 29 bucks from Boost lol
So CM13 nightly won't work on this one if it is 1031? I thought it was for falcon? Honestly, all I want to be able to do is apply CM themes and do a few tweaks to the status bar.

Sorry, i don't own one and i'm not from US, so i just report you things i read...
Take a look and try to find a rom for 1031...another one that what i've proposed, of course...
As you wrote : 29 bucks...
Sad to see Moto G's finishing their nice career in such harsh way but keep in mind that they came out in 2013...
Nice phone, love my XT 1039 but it's not given to every model to be an HTC HD2 like...

NICE, i've missed it but glad for you i have...
Try it, nice one...some minor bugs only...be careful, follow instructions and everything will be OK...
Try to avoid CM recovery if you can, prefer TWRP if it's available and let us know results

I was actually wondering if I can use the newer version of TWRP. I have 2.8.6.0 on my other phone. Do you by chance know if 3.0.0.0 will work with CM13 on xt1031?

For CM13, sure (just done now a test flashing my previous CM12.1 based BlissPop and back on my daily driver MM CM13 Bean Stalk for another Mate who asked for in Peregrine (XT1039) section. Everything worked flawlessly !!!)
For your CDMA, not so sure...use the latest who's totally safe !!!
2.8.7.0 would be nice & enough if you can find it but 2.8.6.0 must be enough too imao...

I am looking at the TWRP site and did some research...apparently the xt1032 version works on the 1031 but some roms won't install with TWRP because of the model number discrepancy. So I'm looking around to find out if CM13 checks for model number in recovery to flash...some require it and some don't, apparently.

Before you do anything, unlock the Bootloader:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47705438&postcount=6
Then flash the 5.1 Factory Firmware Image: (Fastboot Tutorial)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/index-moto-g-falcon-factory-firmware-t3110795
From that point you can move on to custom ROMs if you wish.
To clarify, you have an XT1031 Moto G.

Some help with a spanish phone

I bought a XT1541 on Amazon, but the phone received had a Spanish 5.1.1 ROM while I live in France. So i have flashed the "XT1541 OSPREY RETEU 5.1.1" rom and now it didn't find the Marshmallow update ..
I have the 8Gb version, setting says "System version: 23.41.47.osprey_reteu.reteu.en.EU retes" and a friend with the same phone show the right version ("23.41.47.osprey_reteu.reteu.en.EU retfr")
Some help required to change retes to retfr
Thank you in advance
Why don't you install the stock MM firmware instead of waiting an OTA update?
However, I just installed CM13

I haven't ever seen "retfr" in any Moto G3, but you should forget this, CM13 is very good and very stable. What image of RETEU did you install?
PS: I am spanish and I bought my Moto G in Orange and I have received the OTA.

All french Moto G3 with stock rom i have seen have "retfr" like this:
I have tried all RETEU firmware (5.1.1, 6.0 and 6.0.1) and same problem..
"retes" can't be edited in build.prop, i have only the line before ("23.31.22.osprey_reteu.reteu.en.EU" for exemple in the uploaded image)
