Two seperated music libary's on the S7 Edge - any ideas? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hey guys
I would like to manage two music libraries on my S7 Edge, I have a 200GB external micro sd, one is about 20GB, the other one about 70GB
Both libraries are tagged with MP3-tag and playliste in the .m3u format.
Is there a solution to handly two separated libary's? I would like to have two players, one for each libary.

Knox login maybe? Or use separate players with different default directories altogether.

Thanks for your idea, I tried to setup BlackPlayer and Poweramp, it seems to work right now

Just set your default directory for each player to the folder that holds each of your Libraries. Oli_28 had the same issue and he worked it out doing it like I explained up top.

Music Players miss 70% of my music??? why?

I have one issue that turns into multiple ones: I've used the default [google?] music player and a half dozen others [currently TTPod] and despite is ugly playback, only the default Music Player recognizes all of my stash. the others all miss from 25% to 70% or so of my files.
why is that? if it matters the handset is a LG P509, runs well, is rooted, running modified stock Froyo.
I don't get my music the usual 'store' way: I'm a musician and fan of live sound, so I rip from various sources a lot of live music, render them as MP3's. The players will typically pickup the same bunches and miss the same from one to other, with the exception that none of them handle audiobooks well, or collections of voice/reading/spoken::; examples are I have two versions of Bible audio loaded and a couple of longish books on Audio: player-depending, some will ignore a lot but not all of these files [no pattern] and others will do various things like renaming/numbering the files, leaving them nameless [unknown - track 1, etc] picking up duplicates, identifying individual tracks as albums [again, some, not all, seemingly at random] and elsewise.
???? makes me miss my ipod.
suggestions?

you were one step ahead of me. i had not thought of that particular function but I was on the hunt for a good file manager and picked up ES File Explorer. [good app] Anyway, prior to that I went back to market and found a trial of a paid player called PlayerPro. it does the trick. found everything, and was clever enough to obfuscate empty folders. "Folder" view is not the default, but its not hidden either, so using that View everything was quite orderly. so that issue is solved.
I'm still puzzled, however, by the underlying technicals of why this occurs. it would be non-mysterious if there was some consistency, for instance, NO audiobook-type track would be mishandled as an "album", instead of "some are... most are not". And stranger still - CD's that I have ripped directly using a PC based tool have a fairly ordinary file structure [unlike ripping from streams or youtube, or audio tracks from vids] - those genre/album based products completely miss those altogether even though they are in subfolders under "Music".

[Q] Movie app that supports split files?

Since you can't put 10 gb rips on your Android atm without splitting them I am looking for a media player that supports split files (meaning that it plays the two files as if they were one).
XBMC does this great but I think it is too heavy for a mob ile.
I want a player like VLC, lightweight and can play a lot of formats. I don't know how this TV out works, but that should also be supported.
Anyone that can share a good app tip?
If you formatted you sdcard to a ext filesystem you could have larger files I did this with a sdcard to use for Linux image files

you should be able to still format the internal memory..not that I have done it before on a device with just internal
Yeah I also thought so but I searched and found one person here at the forum who had tried. The result was the phone complaining about corrupt storage etc. So no luck there.

Samsung Music Player Organization Help Needed

While on 4.0.4 on my 8013 Note music files were organized under the album option alpabetically and all was great!
Now using any ROM above 4.0.4 the default music player no longer organizes it alpabetically, WHY!!!?!?!?! This is driving me nuts. I am not sure where to really begin to fix this. I have deleted all folders and then tried putting them on again but no go.

The only fix that I could suggest is playerpro, as I see no option for resorting albums alphabetically in the stock app. I stopped using as it ignores folder structure on nearby devices and you end up with a huuugeee list of songs, rather than album folders.
Doesnt solve you issuse, but it might be your best option.

The only reason I like the stock player is the widget. I have not found a replacement player that has a widget that is as good.
Dont use the widgets myself, though these are the playerpro ones.
Goodluck with finding a fix though
What makes no sense is on my galaxy Note 2 running 4.1.1 everything is fine and normal.

Google Music Censoring....

Any way to get it to stop replacing explicit songs i upload with their censored version? A grown man should be able to hear the word **** if he damn well pleases to.
And no, the "block explicit songs" option is not enabled
When you upload a song, it wont use your version unless you're the first to do so. Google wont waste space having a million copies of the same track.
Unfortunately its probably that a censored version was uploaded by someone else.
I would expect them to have one of each up there but that may not always be the case

Does this option still appear or is that an outdated fix?

actually yes it does.
But still, me having to go through thousands of songs to do this (yes, pretty much every explicit song is censored, havent found any of my original uncensored versions yet) is a bit tedious and shouldnt be a problem in the first place. O well, back to power amp with my downloaded music i go.
Interesting, none of my songs ever matched at all. Maybe it's because most of my library had volume levels normalized using Replay Gain.

I love Play Music for purchased/All Access music, but if you're looking for it purely as a locker I would recommend Amazon Cloud Player.
I think that the upload functionality of Play Music is primarily meant as a supplement for things that are not available for purchase/subscription, as there are plenty of issues they haven't ironed out like the one you posted. Hence why it's free, I guess.

its a shame, this freed up 5 gigs of internal for me. Really hurting for a sd card slot now. Though i do have the meenova card reader, i dont really wanna have to keep it in 24/7.
Hopefully someone comes up with a case that has a built in OTG card reader at some point. Thats money im willing to spend without hesitation
Have you looked at Amazon's cloud player? It's really a good solution as a music locker.
Actually I wonder if my accident could be your solution. What if you wiped your Google Music account clean, normalized the audio level of all your local MP3s using Replay Gain (e.g. MP3Gain), and then re-uploaded? The adjusted files may not be recognized as matching Google's tracks, which would then avoid any clean-ification.
Or possibly clean up the ID3 tags first as well. That's one thing I did with all my downloaded music before adding to iTunes (and by extension Google) - fixed the ID3 using a batch editor and applied Replay Gain.

It's extremely irritating and very arbitrary. Everything by Queens of the Stone Age is censored, for example. Plenty of either bands are not. So annoying.

[Q]3gbs for thumbnails?

I keep running into space issues as my tablet only has 16gb on board and part of the reason is that MX Player seems to be auto generating thumbnails. I actually don't need or want thumbnails to be generated - is there a way to disable? Or write to an external card?
Though, it would be even better to know why the thumbnail folder size would even be that big
Sent from my Note 4 using Tapatalk
Wow thats too much, where is it located? Its really insane!
To disable cache thumbnails, go to settings>general>cache thumbnails and uncheck!
It's in /storage/emulated/legacy/.thumbnails
I actually unchecked that though the images came back. The only other app I can think of is Plex but I have plex on my phone and use it - it never generates such a large folder
I also tried creating a symlink to move it off local storage but that keeps failing

These thumbnails aren't only generated by mx player, I have quickpic installed and this app is really a headache!
