Hi,
I'm pretty new to tinkering with Android and mobile devices in general.
I was tasked by a family member to try and "repair" a non-working Lenovo tablet. As per the title, it seems like the problem is that it is stuck in boot loop. Here is about as much detail as I can come up with right now. Most or all of this is new stuff to me, so I apologize in advance if I misuse terms or misapply concepts; it's what I could gather over a bit of online searching.
- The tablet is owned by a non-tinkerer / casual user, so has the stock OS (I'm not entirely certain myself which, Jelly Bean?), hasn't been modded, no ROM installed, not rooted, not in USB debugging mode, unless these were a default setting to begin with.
- Upon power up, the tablet won't get passed the Lenovo logo, which seems like a boot loop and not a "brick state" as a lot of people often jump to. I could not say what was done prior to the first instance of this. The user probably didn't do anything fancier than downloading and using apps.
- I booted into recovery mode (hold power button and volume ±), wiped cache and a reset to factory, to no avail, still getting a boot loop.
- I'm not certain how to call it, but I can boot up in a different mode by holding power button and volume down, which gives me a few options and ends up displaying "Cold booting Linux" along with the Lenovo logo, but this still goes nowhere.
- I tried to sideload a few things over ADB, including factory firmware, but it always ends the same: "Installation Aborted". These were all .zip files, which I understand is the way to go. Maybe I didn't have an exactly correct file for the tablet?
I'm posting here because I'm pretty much out of ideas, any semblance of progress has stalled and I am only willing to spend so much time trying to revive an old tablet. Seems to me like the rooting and USB debug settings might be a problem at this point and I don't think it's fixable from here on.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hello XDA-forums,
To start with a qoute: "Help me, XDA-Developers. You're my only hope."
Got an android tablet (Sencor Element 8D101) from a close friend, with the message, that if fails to boot.
Indeed, when i try to switch it on, only the beginning splash screen (the word "element" in front of cloudy background) is visible, and the tablet does nothing more. As far as i know, the device was not rooted.
I read that pushing some phyiscal buttons during boot may bring up a recovery boot menu that may help. Hardreset.ifno said for this model, that should be Volume up + Power. Sadly i do not seem to do it right, because at best i am only getting an infinite loop of the "element" screen and big green android logo (but not the lying down android with it open chest, just the standing one) - but nothing resembling a menu.
I got adb.exe and tried "adb wait-for-device", but that also does not seem to recognize the device.
Is there hope in restoring this device? If yes, how?
Thanks,
toti
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist.
There is no dedicated forum for your device at this time but you may want to ask your question with all relevant details in the friendly general Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help.
Since your device is relatively uncommon, please be patient and give the experts plenty of time to respond.
Good luck!
I tried almost everything up until now. No luck.
Method 1) The Vol key combinations to reset from here:
windowsphone.com/en-in/how-to/wp8/settings-and-personalization/reset-my-phone
Every time i tried this, the phone would restart in between and bring me back to the bitlocker screen.
Method 2) Windows Device Recovery Tool
This tool doesn't detect my phone on any screen except one where i get this:
dropbox.com/s/57fggj7erw3suf1/2016-01-05.png?dl=0
Method 3) Nokia Care Suite
This actually took some time to get. And then i had to make some changes in the preferences for it to read the firmware i had downloaded earlier using WDRT.
Then
File-> Open Product-> Lumia 525-> Programming-> Recovery
Then selected no connection at the top left corner for dead usb flashing.
Selected my firmware and hit start.
And then it started
dropbox.com/s/m008m6tiy5lcmkf/2016-01-05%20%281%29.png?dl=0
And it tried to reboot the phone.
I got the big NOKIA logo at the top of the screen. [FINGERS CROSSED!]
And then i got the Red NOKIA screen. And then,
It disappeared. And i got an error message on NCS.
dropbox.com/s/t2mcagie39aeifg/2016-01-05%20%282%29.png?dl=0
Here's the full error log. Just in case.
FA_ERR_VERIFY_FAIL: 0xFA00000D
Exception:
Nokia.CareSuite.PlugIns.MurzimRecovery.RecoveryDialog.MurzimProgrammingException: FA_ERR_VERIFY_FAIL: 0xFA00000D

The thing is, all of this happened on it's own. I didn't enable bitlocker nor did anything with any WiFi proxy settings.
And when i took it to nokia care, they told me that there was some fault in the motherboard and IT or a part of IT needs to be replaced and i was given a quoted price for the replacement.
Now i'm pretty convinced that all of this is just a software mess up and nothing more. Any ideas people?
Anything that i might not have done? Or maybe done incorrectly?

need help with this phone. I rooted it using Kingo, followed some instructions to set up a partition and then did a factory reset/wipe.
now the phone is stuck in a boot loop. Droid stood up with blue cage spinning and progress bar above.
The phone wont go into recovery mode or download mode either so most of the tutorials ive seen are fairly useless to me and the only other i have come across intended for "noobs" goes on about scripts and adb - both of which i have no idea about.
Is there a way I can just get the phone back to factory default?

So I tried changing the font on my phone using iFont, but when my phone restarted it became stuck on the lg logo and I can't figure out how to fix it. No, I don't have a custom recovery, nor does the lgl35g have its own flashing tool. Since I can't get past the lg logo, I can't use adb and I've looked into lgmdp, but none of the models listed in the program is for my phone model. I'm at a loss for what I should do, and replacing the phone isn't an option for me right now. I'm willing to go to great lengths to fix this issue
