As we all know that battery backup is one of the only backdrops of Xperia L. So I am making this thread so that we can discuss battery life. Recommend ways of increasing battery life, softwares you use to increase backup, post your battery stats. Tell us how many hours you get.
Hit Thanks if I helped you.

I was also using that battery saver but later found out that the battery saver itself was succking too much ram and battery. You better use only greenify and app cache cleaner. The battery drains a lot by using battery saver but after uninstalling it, I can feel the difference.
Actually, I mainly use that app to quit all the apps running in the background. Check its widget. You can place it on your homescreen and with one touch, all apps are closed

Yeah I am also talking about it. That widget itself sucks too much battery and drains battery. It takes almost 20 MB of ram even when we are not using it.
Yeah it does use a lot of RAM but it does more good than bad. I hope they release a more optimized version, that would be very good.
do try Qualcomm Snapdragon BatteryGuru (available on Play Store), seems to do the trick for me. This combined with STAMINA mode that Sony offers, I can sail through the day easily with enough battery left in the end.
I don't know why everyone complains so much about battery life. I get about 3-4 days out of a charge with medium usage. WTF is wrong with me?

I don't use a software that promises battery save, only the tools provided by Sony in power management.
Also, brightness is at 0% or at the worst auto-mode. I switched off all the bloatware by Sony + Google Chrome.
And last but not least, I do full charges and un-charges.
Those dark days with the X10 Mini Pro taught me some things, lol!

I didn't say I discharge it completely. In the previous screens, I was just outside the house, so I couldn't charge it at all.
Usually I do the charges below 10-15% depending on where I am.
But, yeah, Li-Ion batteries should be fully discharged at least once every 30 charges (give or take), based on what I have read here or in other forums.
Hi!
The past days, I also have the same problem as you guys have..But then, after I did this, my battery does not drain that much..
After 20hrs on Stamina Mode, about 2-3hrs 1-2hrs of gaming, 2-3hrs 1-2hrs of 3G surfing, and downloaded from google play about 150MB, i still have about 58% of battery life on my XL..i know that does not count that much, but it was really a lot compare to the recent days i am using it..
I don't have any installed apps to kill recent apps..i just swipe out the application on the App button( the one on the right side of the home button with two rectangle) and that's it! I even keep the running applications on the application setting to run on its own.. :victory:
Hope this one helps you! Just hit the Get Mad button..
:highfive:
Edit:

My brightness is zero since XL is still okay with this setting..

I got around 22 hours of battery with stamina mode on and mobile data on for 5-6 hours
Sent from my C2104 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I have tested my phone in many ways and here are my results:
Battery drain:
Stand by (no stamina mode): -1%/hour
Stand by (STAMINA mode): -0,4%/hour
Hard use with brightness 100% (3g/wifi open, bluetooth open): -29%/hour
Hard use with brightness 50% (same use): -23%/hour
AnTuTu Battery Test (100% Brightness and full 100% CPU use): -35%/hour (and 50,4 degrees Celcious (???))
I dont think it is a good battery at all, for hard users!
I recently bought a nexus 5. I was really happy till i noticed that the battery drains super fast. It only lasts 8 to 9 hours i even flashed francos kernel whit cataclyst rom still no improvement. I boughted new battery and replaced it. I had like 12 hours first time i charged now its 8/9 hours again. What can i do ?

battery life is not dependent on what you flash. there is no such thing as a magic pill to flash to automatically give you good battery life. battery life is dependent on how you personally use your phone, how you personally set up your phone, what apps you chose to install, and very much depending on the quality of your phone/data connection.
...you bought and manually installed a new battery on your recently bought N5 before finding out what apps were causing the drain? Yikes. But yeah try better battery stats or wakelock detector to see what apps are draining it.
Mine's been off the charger for 29 hours so far and I still have 37% left. Depends how you use it. A good signal helps.

your battery life seems pretty average, not bad and not great. youll get about 3.5 hours screen on time total. sure, you can play with your settings/set up some to try to get it a little better. but, depending on your data/phone connection(quality of), you might not get much better(or you can get it much better).
You can also try going into your location settings and ticking the "Battery saving" mode.
I can confirm that data/phone connection quality has a huge impact.
At work my office is on the second of five floors with its windows faced to a very narrow court. So there is almost no connection and often the phone is switching between 2G, 3G and 4G all the time. If additionally the screen is on very often (due to messages, mails, etc.) the battery usually doesn't last longer than 5 to 6 hours.
A dutch guy . So am I.

K...just for one day do the following. ....start at 100 percent too.
Turn off location services. Turn off Google now. In the Google settings app, go into android device manager and uncheck both items. Turn off sync. Uninstall or freeze Facebook app and fitness app your screen shot listed. Freeze Google plus as well, if you're rooted. If not....sign out of it, or turn its sync off at least. Use browser for Facebook and google plus for the day.
Don't play ANY games.
Also, see how your signal strength is. If you are losing signal completely ....that will destroy your battery.
Do these things and see how your battery is. If its much better, then you can try turning things back on....one thing per day. And when your battery gets bad again....you know its the last thing you turned on.
See how it goes.

I am really excited for upgrading my x play to marshmallow 6.0 from lollipop but after using it a while i am facing very less battery backup on marshmallow as compared to lollipop I merely get 3 hours of Screen On time and the battery last for 15-16 hours on normal usage. Is anyone else facing this problem !!
if you are rooted , try amplify and greenify, it helps a lot. you could also try to edit doze settings to make the device sleep faster than google intended.
mine Sot was reduced after MM, so i started tweaking doze and installed Greenify+Amlipfy. Now i get approx 50min-1hr SOT per 10%. i am not a heavy user, i do lots of browsing and whatsapp on data and i get around 6 hours SOT from 100-40%..never have drained the whole battery ..i guess it'll go beyond 10hour.[as battery saver kicks in at 15%].

if you need good battery then you have to cut down core functions according to your use.
I need the phone for whatapp and browsing so I turned off pretty much everything else like app auto-update I don't need Google to search every 30min if a new version is available, turned off NFC when I am not using.

NFC only uses little power. I keep it on all the time and still manage to get 6-7 hours SOT for every full charge
bluetooth is using extremely small amount of battery, too
it has LE profiles, so no need to turn it off, if someone is wondering about that
It seems there are quite few people with battery issues around... My phone lasts around 16hrs too, with everything pretty much turned off and very moderate use. No games, no videos, no music, no Facebook, no IMs. Just some Chrome, phone calls etc. My 2 year old Nexus 5 would last just as much, which is kinda laughable, given battery, SoC and age difference...

Check that are apps getting optimised.
Also one more thing, By going to
Security > apps with usage access (at bottom) > Turn off the usage access of the apps there (would be play store and play services)
Do click the three dots on top right and touch the show system and another app named "motocareint" would show up. Turn it's usage access off also.
After doing all this, charge your device to 100 percent and then use normally till it hits 10 percent. Then share your battery stats.

The battery on Honor 6 has problems even for normal use, it drains fast , it'll be dead after a year and you have to replace it and it heats up too much.
The always on feature is quite impossible for a battery like that.
And its not just the battery. S7/G5 has amoled display, and amoled is able to do always on mode because of its working mrchanism. Honor has ips display, which is not.
Ok. But the battery timings are quite impressive of my Honor 6 even after 1.25 years

I'm downgrading to lollipop or kitkat before the heat and drainage kill my battery.

Hello,
I don't know what can I do. I must charge the battery 2 times a day. With custom ROM and Kernel ,also in stock unrooted and with locked bootloader. It's not normal, I think. Has anyone the same Problem? Maybe the battery is damaged. What do you think?

Mine is very similar. I think our batteries are gone. I am about to do a factory reset and reinstall my ROM to see if it makes any difference to battery load.

I start from beginning and the what happens.
First try to see what apps run in the background, maybe there are some services draining your battery. Is Mobile Radio Active draining the battery? If not than 100% that your battery needs to be replaced.
Try Nova Battery Tester (look for apk) set to long test and see what capacity it measures.
