Motorola doesn't post firmware images? - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Am I missing something here? The only android phones I used were Nexus 5 and OnePlus one, both which provided full firmware images for each update. However, all I find with Motorola is the original firmware 5.1.1, some have 6.0 found on xda.
I understand that when rooted, OTA updates do not work. So each time there is an update is the only choice to restore to 5.1.1 and OTA update to the new firmware? This seems like such a pain having to reset everything each time. Is there an easy way to update rooted stock?

Do not update from an older system version to a newer via OTA if you have done it before, in most cases it will hardbrick your phone (happened to my Moto G1 and my friends G3)

Firmware Update On Nexus 5?

I new to the Nexus 5, I used to to used the HTC One and on the One I could flashed ROM, radio, and firmware. I know that Google will soon release Android 4.4.3. Currently I have my Nexus 5 rooted with TWRP and PA. On my old One what I did when HTC released 4.4.2 update, was I flashed the phone back to stock (with S-OFF) get the update then rerooted with a custom ROM so that I can have the latest firmware. My question is that will I have to do the same thing too? Does the Nexus 5 even have a firmware update? If the new update does contain a new firmware can I used the method I used on the One? Or can I just update my PA ROM to 4.4.3 and be done?
Thanks for the help, I am just confused right now.

pa will add 4.4.3 into the rom when the code gets released. all youll have to do is update your pa rom when they release it.

Flashing 5.0 Lollipop

So I flashed the brazillian lollipop OTA on my Indian XT033 and can someone explain to me step by step how I'll be able to flash the Indian Lollipop update when it releases publicly without losing my data?

Why you flashed Brazilian version. It could brick your phone. Motorola is gonna release official android L here in less than a week, i guess.
Anyway, download indian version of stock 4.4.4 and flash it with stock recovery. Relock the bootloader. Latest motorola adb and fastboot drivers should be there before starting this whole process.
Motorola has updated its OTA updater app a couple of days ago. So go to play store and update it to make your phone ready for android lollipop

And in this way you could end up messing your phone.
Once youre on lollipop there's no way as of now to downgrade to KK.
But once the india lollipop update is out someone will figure out a way to install that.Until then enjoy your phone o Brazilian 5.0.
And also I dont find some good reason to install Indian update ovr brazilian one coz there will be no major change.
I guess both are "Asia retail" firmwares?
Please press THANKS if interesting. Sent from Moto G-od via xt1033 free Android app.

[Q] How to get Lollipop on Honor 6 (L04)?

There are now tons of threads detailing a myriad of methods of getting L on Honor 6. As far as I can tell
You cannot get CM12
You can somehow get 5.1 + EMUI3.1
So can anyone post the correct links to where I can get L? I am currently running CM11, and I have a custom recovery, so flashing is ok for me.
I already replied to you in another thread. Check it.

Download B309 package.
Flash over B374.
Go further down to B109SP01 from B309.
Update to B115.
Update to B500 with this update. zip.
You'll get B500 version if you are in India and not B507. I don't know the reason but that's what happened to me and few other people. I'm back to B374 as this ROM is buggy for daily usage. India will also be releasing lollipop update soon so I suggest it's better to stay away from this. While on the other hand Malaysia has also started updating to Lollipop, that update is over B380, update file is not uploaded by anyone yet.

Hi, thanks for replying.
If huawei is indeed releasing updates, I can wait. But can you tell me if the update will rewrite my recovery? I will certainly give this a shot if I can do a restore of my current ROM from recovery.
Sent from my Honor 6 using XDA Free mobile app
It's difficult to come back to EMUI 3.0 I have tried that so I'm telling you. You should wait for 2-3 days as Lollipop is coming soon. And yes there is a different recovery in Lollipop.
There is no cwm available for it. So coming back is not as easy as jumping from 3.0 to 2.3

Huawei ascend mate 7 update, what to do?

Hello guys, I just want to get help with updating my MT7-L09C900B324 TO marshmallow I've noticed that this is a difficult procedure most of all because of the firmwares. Thats why I thought it might be great to gather the best firmwares.. And help people that are in the same situation... Cheers
That is difficult as it depends on whether it's Chinese firmware or international, whether or not it has dual SIM and what region the existing firmware is for. So many combinations.
IMO, only use an update or ROM that has an included pdf stating what versions it can update. Check this against what is installed. Many people brick through haste and ignorance.
You also need stock recovery to do it. Bootloader can be locked or unlocked for OTA or update. I prefer to unroot too, if just an OTA update. I also think it safest to wipe cache and dalvik. Start fresh.

Updating huawei ascend mate 7 to marshmallow
As far as I know it's the Malaysian firmware, I update it manually seems it was taking too long for the Ota to arrive. Of course, from kitkat to lollipop. Now, the Ota supposed to be kicking in but I got nothing.. Do you think it has something to do with the firmware that I have? I thought it was because of that, and believe if I don't change it, will never work

Still on 5.1?

Hi guys, im new to Huawei coming from note 4. Like it so much better then Samsung!
I'm still on 5.1 emui 3.1 I see some of you already rocking 6.0. How can I get that and is it a stock rom? Im from Europe btw
Hi, I had the same version as yours in Europe. Through the HiCare app from Huawei, the system was able to check that there was a new version. It prepared the phone and I finished the update using the complete file available from the website (and here as well).

The hicare got an update indeed... But will I get a ota update or do I have to do it manual?
Is 6.0 good?
B560 MM is nice
You must have stock recovery. IMO, best to use a full ROM. The OTA probably is a full ROM though.
I'm having battery issues with b560. It lasts almost as half as on 5.1
I think im going to wait until I get the ota update
In B560 you lost the chance to hidden the navigation button, battery (for someone) is worst than LL.
