SD card not getting formatted (Moto G3 Turbo Edition) - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried to use sd card as internal storage in moto g3 running android 6.0. I followed steps on screen and while it was formatting sd card, it crashed with error "common 21 volume partition disk 179,64 public failed with null". Now my sd card can't be read by any device and Moto g3 keeps on asking to format sd card and it fails to do so with above error. Is there any way to fix this ?

Hello,
There is one: to buy a decent micro SD card from a decent retailer.
I have a SanDisk micro SD card that I used with Samsung Galaxy SIII mini GT-I8190L, followed by Moto G 4G XT1040, followed by Moto G3 XT1543 and now Moto G3-TE Turbo XT1556, so this SD card is working fine all time.

i think that's the only solution left for me. SD card was working perfectly fine for me in windows phone. I had switched to Moto G3-TE just yesterday and within few hours my SD card got corrupted.

Same thing as this" I tried to use sd card as internal storage in moto g3 running android 6.0. Ok just follow the steps...
1.Sd card connect pc using card reader
2.now go to my ccomputer and right click, then click manage option
3.in manage menu choose disk management
4.now find your sd card.it will be 2 partitions. Delete the partitions or format and renamed the partition.
Thats it.
Now go to my computer sd card will be worked perfectly. This is the one and only solution, and your all data will be lost.
Note: in marshmallow sd card used as a internal storage or portable storage. if you choose internal storage then sd card have making tow partitions automatically. And sd card not able to copy format in pc.so dont used it as a internal storage.
I am a technician and moto lover, nowdays i used moto g3 Turbo edition indian version running marshmallow 6.0.1

Need Help with a Rooted LG Volt

Ok I have an LG Volt thats running Android Kitkat 4.4.2. it has like 4gb of internakl memory and I have a 32gb SD Card in it thats not being utilized. I rooted it because I read with a rooted phone you can move apps to SD Card and clear out bloatware, and I need to make space on my internal memory. I have 1gig of free space left and a game on my phone (that i actually want) is taking up another gig. I want to move that to my SD card but it only moves the app (which is only taking 3mb) it wont move the app data which is taking 1gig. How do I move that data to my Sd card?
Ive tried titanium backup but that doesnt list a move to Sd Card option. Ive tried link2sd, but link 2 SD card is greyd out and it says second partition not found (do i really need to make multiple partition on an SD card to do that? Why not just use the free space thats on its default partition?) and when I try to move it from my phone to my SD card in that program I get a failure message that says "App2SD is not supported by your device. Because your device has a primary external storage which is emulated from the internal storage. You can link the app in order to move its files to your sd card" and then sometime if I try to link it says something about os emulation.
So what I need is step by step instruction on how to move an app (including its data) from my internal storage to my Sd card on my rooted 4.4.2 lg volt. OR how to upgrade my lg volt from kitkat 4.4.2 to Marshmallow 6.0 without bricking it because I hear Marshmallow allows you to turn your Sd card into internal storage which would give me 32 GB of internal storage instead of 8 thus I can keep all my app in my new "internal storage" and not care. Thank you.
surely someone knows >.>
Search lg volt on android forums. Go to root and there's going to be a various selection of threads. Currently devs are working on CM13 I have it installed on mine and yes my SD card is now internal. CM 13 works perfectly BUT some phones may have a green tint in there camera.

Get a usb memory card ready. If your memory card is healthy you can recover your files. If not your sorry your files will be hard to recover.

Get Card reader for PC, and use PhotoRec (or more advanced but perhaps more difficult to use, by same programmers, TestDisk).
PhotoRec on WikiPedia:- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PhotoRec
TestDisk on WikiPedia:- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TestDisk.
Try PhotoRec first, it can probably recover files if either of them can (and is easier to use), and Testdisk if that fails.
If anything can recover your lost files, one of these can.
Be sure to read the documentation thoroughly [Especially for Testdisk].

Recovering an "Adopted" SD Card?

Hi folks,
I have an SD card here that I was using for Adopted Storage but I've managed to get it stuck as an "adopted" card and can't seem to get it back functioning as a normal SD card
Long story short... I wiped the device the card was in but I didn't "unadopt" the SD card before hand - as in set it back to portable mode. While the device could recognise there was an SD card afterwards, it couldn't prepare it for use and suggested a card error or something to that effect.
I figured I'd just pop it in my laptop (Windows 10 x64) and re-format it but this didn't work. Failing this, I decided I'd "nuke" it using Minitools Partition Wizard. While this program had better luck identifying the card, could display and delete the partitions on it and could run the Wipe task - it had no effect on the card... the partitions just re-appear after any attempt to nuke them!
Has anyone any ideas about how I can restore this card back to a normal FAT formated SD card?
Just to clarify - I don't care for the data that might be on it... I just want the card back usable
Thanks
Recovering an "Adopted" SD Card?
The best solution for now would be to plug the sd card into a phone with android 6.0 so that the phone can read the card and then while setting it up,you can format the card as "normal "(the part where it asks you whether to use the card as in adaptive storage or for accessing files).

When I try this, I get "Unsupported SanDisk SD card"
I'm then asked to select either Portable or Internal and then Erase & Format but neither work. They fail at 20% and the message "Unsupported SanDisk SD card" is shown again
I'm a bit stumped. I thought surely the encryption used on adopted cards was only to stop external reads. It seems in this case it's stopping me from writing to or formating the card

HELP! EXT2 partitioned microSD card cannot be read by laptop

Hi there. I'm using a Xiaomi Redmi 1S with 16GB SD card. Previously I had partitioned my SD card with 2nd partition set to FAT type, which I used to link apps to SD card using Link2SD. My SD card could be read fine by my laptop when I plugged it in to my laptop with a USB connector (i.e. I could open both my internal storage as well as external SD card storage). Recently I had to reformat the SD card due to some issues with my phone, and I hence deleted the old partition and created a new 2nd partition in EXT2 format instead. The 2nd partition is readable on my phone and works with Link2SD to link apps to SD card like before, however when I plug into my laptop, I cannot see the SD card storage. I can only see the internal memory storage. Please advise how to fix this, if possible without reformatting, as I am unable to move files to and from the SD card storage if I can't see it. Thank you!

adoptable/internal storage help

hey guys i kinda screwed something up, i was going to swap from using my sd card internal storage to portable so i backed up the data folder and the obb folder, then i formatted the sd card to portable storage and then i realised that there was no where near enough space for all my apps and i found out you cant move them to the sd card so i switched the sd card back to internal storage.
so formatted the sd card but now when i use es file explorer ti says the the card cannot be found so i cant set thing back to how they were?
any idea how to get the sd card to work as it did?
What format is your SD card? You may have formatted it wrong.

i just checked and my sd card is formatted to f2fs mate but it is working now somehow
You optionally need twrp with f2fs support, you can find it on xda, not on twrp.me. @robgee789
I think you need only twrp:
