I am trying to run an smtp server on a rooted galaxy core prime. I intend to use the mobile data connection for my server and a gandi domain for the server. I'm using the servers ultimate pro app to run the server. I am having no luck setting up the server on my own however. can anyone give me a step by step walk through?
I tried using the mail in a box tutorial from the web and adopting it to direct to my server on the phone but no luck and help would be appreciated.

Hey guys, I searched this forum and pretty much everything on the net but couldn't find anything.
I have a WM6 smartphone with direct push access to our company exchange server. Works flawlessly, I get all my work emails right away on the handset.
But I was wondering, is there a XP or Mac client out there that could "pretend" it's a mobile device and give me my email on my private computer?
On top of that, I'm a Mac user. (Apple Mail has OWA Exchange supprt but it wouldn't let me in. I think it needs to tell the server it's a mobile device.)
Naturally, a Windows client would also do just fine.
The only settings known to me are: activesync server address, user, pwd, domain. The server is accessible from the internet (I know this because my smartphone can sync via any wifi hotspot too.) so that's no problem.
any ideas?
RPC over HTTP
Hey Greg,
do you have a certificate file from the exchange server ?
It could be that it's not really working because of the missing cert-file.
Maybe you need Entourage on your Mac, but i have read about, that it is not fully functional (but... i have no idea about it.... )
Or ask your IT stuff in the company if they are servering RPC over HTTPS.
RPC over HTTPS and Outlook this is imho the best solution to use your company mail at home.
Or maybe you can access the exchange via pop3 or imap if it is allowed in your company. But using RPCoHTTP is much better...
Cheers,
Peter
Thanks,
no there is no certificate. I can just enter my credentials into any phone fresh-out-of-the-box and it will work.
I'd like not to ask my IT staff because their standard answer to such questions is "not supported, don't do it".... I don't wanna hear that
Has anyone figured out how to get the Work URL Exceptions to work? I have both my private IP Addresses (192.168.0.*) and my domain (*.mydomain.com/*) listed. I am using PPTP VPN, but it only works for Exchange ActiveSync. I am trying to get it to start the VPN Connection for other program such as RDP, or Internet Explorer with no luck. I even tried to RDP into the VPN server, but was not successful either.
What mail client should I use to access comcast acctt ? I am a totla noob, get my G-Tab today. Need some expert advise on setup...
Your mail client can be found on Comcast website.
Your POP setting should mail.Comcast.com and yiu smtp should be smtp.comcast.
Since its on your mobile device you may have an issue sending or may not...but check their website as well if that doesn't work
Hope that helps

Use a Proxy program
I am assuming you are on a windows domain. I suggest you download a program called Proxy Droid from the marketplace and setup the details on it. the reason being that windows domain requires NTLM authentication that very few program provide.
Cheers,
Vikram.
I'll try and hit back
proxy Droid works for me
I'm trying to run a VPN server using Servers Ultimate Pro. I can't figure out how to use personal certificate and key instead of the default ones.
