Full internal storage for some reason.... - Honor 6, 6 Plus Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have moved all my apps, pics etc to an sd card but still my internal storage shows as 99,4% full. why is this? it shows that apps are taking 7,41 GB of space but why? i have everything in my sd card so...

ES File Explorer has a nice space usage analyzer, you could try it to see what files/folders are actually using the space.

Mounting Internal Storage vs. SD Card - USB

With the Evo, connected to my PC, selecting "Mount as disk drive," only the Micro SD card appears in Windows Explorer as a directory. I want and expect to see another directory for Internal Storage.
Had had the Incredible, where _both_ the SD card and Internal Storage appeared as two separate directories. I could see what was stored on ea.
I am under 300MB of memory of avail. space on the Internal - lots of posts about running out of app room in various forums - so curious what media and other data is there, what might be movable to SD card.
Got some further questions about how to copy data from an 8MB card to a 32MB card (just drag to PC and back?) as I just ordered one, and about how to tell certain apps where I want media recorded to (may simply not be an option w Camcorder and others), but mainly just want to understand how to view Internal storage from a directory on my PC when unit is docked. Thx!

[Q] What EXACTLY does it mean to move an app to the SD Card

OK. So I know you can "move" apps to your SD card. Let me get straight to the point. On my Epic 4G Touch, I moved an app that was about 20MB in size and had about 1.2GB of downloaded data. I "moved" the app to the SD card and saw no space change on my Ext-SD card. My apps are installed in the phone, about 2GB. The downloaded data is saved on the USB storage, about 10GB. This is still part of the internal SD card. Meaning, I have about 12GB of actually personal usage. My apps save on a 2GB partition (Not too sure if I should call it a partition) and my other data saves on a 10GB partition aka USB Storage.
I guess I'm asking when an app is moved to the SD card, what is happening? Is it moving an app to my USB storage, or my Ext.SD card? I also ask this because I moved an app that was 1.2GB in size and saw no change in my Ext.SD card space. My USB Storage did change, but it was in MB, there was no GB difference. So now I'm wondering what exactly is happening when moving apps to the SD.
Also, is moving an app to the SD the same as installing an app on the SD or should those be referred to as 2 different things? And also, when referring to the "SD card" that apps are moving to, is the SD Card the USB Storage or the internal one, or is it the Ext.SD card?
I'm asking because I'm going to start using my phone as a console via MHL. LoL!! Sadly my Nexus 7 can't do it.:crying: So I'm going to start downloading all my big games again. I want to move most of those games to my 32GB SD card Class 10. Got it on sale for $25!! :highfive:
I'm sure it being a class 10, things wouldn't falter too much. I know apps' performance hinders when being on an Ext.SD card. My only issue is it doesn't seem like apps are actually being placed on my SD card. I have Apps2SD free from Amazon. Would that do the trick?
I want to have ALL my games. LoL!!
Batman
Spiderman
GTA 3
NOVA 2 and 3
Modern Combat 3
As you can see, that's probably 10GB already. LoL!! And I'm still not done with that list. =.P
EDIT: Oh yea, forgot to say thanks for anyone helping. Just in case I forget to hit the thanks button.

Not enough memory, delete some item? ?

So my sister has her phone when she does anything this message comes up she getting very pissed off any way on solving this ? she has space and she has a sd card ... whats the deal.

The deal is that we only have 2GB of internal storage, which is where the camera defaults to. This can be filled very easy if one likes to take lots of pictures. There are a lot of ways around this, but the easiest for a non techie is to download a 3rd party camera app and set the storage to the external card. You could also swap mount points or try to symlink it as well.

I have a hard time understanding this, too. Settings>Storage tells me that I have only about 60 MB free in "USB Storage." It also tells me that I have 93 MB of "Pictures, Videos" there. The trouble is, I have no pictures or videos in USB storage. It's all on the external SD card. The camera saves to the external SD card, and all my music, photos, and videos are there, not in internal storage. It even tells me I have 3.4 GB of "Miscellaneous files" in USB storage, which is impossible. That 3.4 GB is actually what's on the external SD at the moment. It tells me that over 1 GB of apps are stored there, even though the apps actually there come to far less---maybe there's app data that's adding to the total.
The only time it becomes a problem is when I run NewsRob, which invariably tells me it doesn't have enough memory to work.

For pics and such, use Google drive, drop box or sky drive. Mine is set to upload over WiFi only. After my pics are up, I delete them from gallery. Also, make sure all music is on external sd . Then go to settings/storage erase SD card. This should clean up any uneccesary files or clutter. Last, move all possible apps to SD and clear all caches. FYI , if on any cm 10 variants don't clear the caches to fast or the phone will freeze for 20-40 secs. That is all

Well, I made an interesting discovery last night. I found that, even though I had set the PodKicker app to store podcasts on the external SD card, it had somehow reverted to internal USB memory, and had dumped a bunch of large files in there.
I also found that my Kindle app had deposited a bunch of files in internal USB memory. There's no way to tell Kindle to put them on the external card, but I supposedly only had a few books residing there. An examination of the kindle cache, however, disclosed almost two hundred, taking up a big chunk of memory. I deleted the whole directory, started Kindle, and let it re-download the few that I need. I think somewhere along the line I had to re-register the Kindle app, and it just left a bunch of old files there that it couldn't use anymore.
Between these two purges I freed up about 150 MB of internal USB storage.
150mb isn't much and will be eaten quickly.
a lot of apps install to the internal but load a bunch more on the external.
Camera ICS + is a good camera replacement that can save directly to the external SD.
Also, run ES File Explorer and use it's SD card analysis to see what is taking up space. I know that if you have your google photos synced, even just the thumbnails database file will be up to 1gb.
Move any Titanium or CWM backups to the external SD, but make sure you remember where they are when you go around deleting things.
I also found a trash can folder that was huge so I'm pretty sure that the internal SD card isn't fully freeing up memory when you delete things.
Also go to your App Manager and see which things are taking up a lot of space. I know that Google+, Gmail, Chrome, Facebook, Grooveshark and a few others take up a lot of space.

[Q] Why do my apps still saved to my SD card?

Hi,
I'm running an Alcatel One Touch Mini with Jellybean. I have over 1gb of internal storage space not in use and have the option checked for apps to save to the internal storage, however, apps such as whatsapp still seem to save data on my SD card.
Why is this, and how do I rectify it? I prefer the space on my SD card to be saved for music.
Thanks

Apps are not being installed on sdcard but on internal storage

So here I am again with another problem... That I couldn't find any solution for it.
My moto g has 8gb ROM and a sdcard of 128gb formated as internal storage.
Great, almost all apps are installed on internal memory and so is the cached data, for example downloaded musics from Spotify or Google play music, well I hadn't noticed it until today I couldn't update any app because I have no space left....
I found no settings on either the apps or on the storage menu that allows me to select the SD card as preferred storage... The migrate data option on the settings menu wants to move 17gb from the SD to the internal storage (lol).
So anyone with an idea from what went wrong?
Thanks.
I have the same problem. The storage is completely full now, but there's still enough space left on the SD card! The phone is now complaining about limit storage, but there should be more than enough left!
No apps are installing to SD? A lot of your apps aren't going to install to SD plus all the system apps will install to internal.
To move all data and cache to sd...you need to use Link2SD with root access.
Or you could have a look at this, works pretty well for me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/adoptable-external-storage-time-t3340551
