I've been trying long time to block the camera.
What I'm trying to do is to block it so no other app could use it.
but - The block should not be permanently
After rooting and mounting the device for RW, I have tried to rename the driver folder in the following path: sys/devices/virtual/camera but this doesn't work because there are no permissions to edit these files (I think that's because the directory is controlled by the kernel..).
In addition I have tried "Permissions Denied" app - and that didn't work too..
I really hope that someone here have idea how to solve this issue.. must be a way to crack it..

i think u may move some lib files related to camera from /system/lib and replace them back wen necessary
On my phone, the following files are in /system/lib. I would imagine that renaming/moving one or more of them will break the camera.
libcamera.so
libcamera_client.so
libcameraface.so
libcameraapp.so
libcameraservice.so
liboemcamera.so
Try finding those files on your phone and renaming or moving them. With root, it should definitely be possible (I don't want to try because I don't want to break my camera.)

Hi,
Thanks for your respond.
After deleting file "libcameraservice.so" I rebooted my phone and it got stuck under Samsung loading screen. I had to restore all the files in the phone...

Hello everyone ,
A few seconds ago i flashed my Lg g2 d802 with OptimusG3 V1.3.2 rom following the steps described on the post regarding this rom replacement . But now the gallery from my phone is not working any more . I get the error : Unfortunately the gallery has stopped . And when i try to open a photo directly from camera the error message is : Cannot read this type of file .
Does anyone know what is the problem of this error ?

Install a manual gallery app from play store. Gor example, Photos which is included with Google +. If you want stock gallery, extract the firmware file which gallery was working well. Go to system/app/ of the extracted folder and from there locate your stock gallery apk. With es file explorer, delete your gallery apk from your / system/app/ . Copy the apk you located earlier to where you deleted the gallery. Change permissions to rw-r-r. Reboot enjoy.. (you need root). Before deleting gallery make backup. Hit thanks if it worked.

I want the stock gallery , but to have the .apk file from the original software i'll need to flash de original one to get it . I tried temporary with google + photos . Seems that in /system/app i didn't found gallery apk . Do you have any ideea how maybe named ? Thanks

if you see Close camera app go back to system etc folder locate camera config or xml file and change permission on that and try to open camera.It should work.

Ok I got it.I forgot I have V20 camera.Need to find G5 camera zip and then flash back.Not in Fulmics Hub.
I extracted the etc to my "/" then rebooted, I see no changes. Im on Fulmics 6.7
This ROM is supposed to already have the G5 camera but I cant find manual mode anywhere.
Did I do something wrong?

if you installed v20 camera not working
on fulmics rom g5 camera installed so copy etc folder and paste to system its worked

The one that came with the rom (Fulmics 6.7) I belive its the G5 Camera.

Ok, i reflashed the rom, got the camera working as it always had, redownloaded your file from the zippy link you posted just in case, unzipped it to a folder on my SD card, then copied the etc folder to my system folder using ES file explorers root explorer. Rebooted the phone and got the same result, Camera has stopped.
So now, In case I am mistaken and this ROM comes with V20 Camera would you be able to provide the G5 camera so that I may install it?

Dear just download noble Rom 2.0 for s6edge and it will work
Like a charm or if u want to use it in another Rom just extract the
Whole folder velvet and give them right permission to all
Inner folders and files delete your velvet folder reboot and then
Add this folder to system private app folder by giving them right
Permission and u r good to go.
Ive been searching for this file.. downloaded a few Noble ROM's i thought might be the right one. No luck yet. I like my ROM so I'm going try to use the velvet folder method.. how do i grant those permissions?
I've extracted app camera apk from stock rom but can't install or edit it. IS there any way to get it working ?
I have a 48MP sensor but on custom rom i get only 12MP :| And it's a Real 48 MP Sensor

EDIT. I Found old TWRP backup and there was this app so I've extracted it and this time it behave like an apk file but i'm geting error at the end of installation.

I thought about it but honestly i don't want to flash rom for few minutes just to get back on my current and set up device again. If there is no other way then maybe that would be the only option

I use it to make a mirror copy of all my apps and updates.
