Hello,
I'd recommend you to revert back to stock rom.
[ROM][CWM zip] Stock JellyBean [MMX A110 V1.11 & Cynus t2 V17.01] (25/03/2013)
Also you may try posting your query here Discussion for MMX A110, the experts there maybe able to assist you.
You may register for XDA account to post and reply in the forum.

rooted and CWM installed
Successfully rooted my Micromax A110 and installed a kernel update (ThunderZap) however the camera isn't working. Is it because I rooted my MMX A110 device? Please suggest the work around.

The issue is most likely due to the Kernel you have flashed. Please post in [Q&A]Help/Report Thread so that the right experts may be of help.
Also I wanted to know if I can install Cyanogen mod in it.......

First I recommend to read this: Micromax A77 Canvas Juice [All in one thread] [CWM, ROM, Root].
Then check this: [AIO] Micromax Canvas Juice A77 [Root, Recovery, Roms, Etc][MTK6572] ... in post #7 you will find a list of custom ROMs.
