OnePlus One + CM13 + VoLTE? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So i installed CM13 nightly on my OPO device in hope on getting some VoLTE support.
Ran the vanilla Cyanogen 12.1 before, i have the VoLTE flag enabled in the hidden menu: *#-#4634#*#* but i think something is wrong with the function as i cant turn it off. And i had it enabled in cm 12.1 and now also 13 but still i am not able to get any VoLTE functionality, so i guess i am trying to turn the key and engine rotates but there is no fuel in tank.
I have a VoLTE enabled simcard just for this test, so its not related to Carrier not enabled volte on the sim.
I have seen in other threads from other Android versions that they ref to and config xml file, " system/customize/ACC/default.xml" and i don't have that folder structure nor file.
Any one have any idea how to proceed?

I am looking forward to support of VoLTE too. The SPEC of snapdragon 801 shows that it supports VoLTE, but it seems that we need 1+'s official update, I kept urging them on Chinese official forum, but get no response by now.
Is there any chance that some cool developer can help us?

it won't be working out of the box.
Oneplus plans on implementing the feature over a patch in a near future which is not really near

Let's all bug one plus on Twitter FB etc to implement. This feature is required specially in India when reliance Jio is launched.

Oneplus i don't think so..
There are so many developers can't they do anything?
Or without company itself no one can implement this software update, i am not asking anyone but just saying that is it impossible without oneplus ?
Or cyanogen mod development can do this ?
Now it's really needed in india so many peoples are waiting for volte support.... Sorry if i said anything wrong...

@BarateaU Did you get VoLTE working on OPO anyway?

I think this was discussed several times ...

Some questions before buying..

Hi guys!
Im wondering about a few things before I decide if im gonna retire my LGG4 for this great looking Honor 8.
Is it possible to add more softkeys? Like for pulling down the notifications!?
Is there any way to active double-tap to wake up?
If I wish, can I change the DPI to my needs?
Which xposed modules are confirmed working? And how good is the community development for this phone?
How does Huawei treat its customers? Are they fast and frequent with new updates and such?
Last but not least, any problems with bluetooth, LTE or wifi here in Europe and especially Sweden? =)
Many thanks in advance for your help guys!

1. Yes, you can add a softkey to pull down the notification drawer.
2. Not yet.
3. Yes, but you'll need to root and install BuildProp Editor.
I don't know anything else about the rest of your questions.

The Customers are treated very well by Honor. I think it also depends on your country.
As for as India is concerned, I still get calls for updating New OS and their feedback after 1.5 years of buying my Honor 7.
Thanks for your replies guys. I might just have to buy this little puppy =) Too bad the deliverydate is 3-4 weeks on my supplier =/

You can't add more soft keys. That requires modding and there are a couple Xposed modules that can do the job for you. However, there is an option in Stock ROM to add a soft key for pulling down the notifications bar so you'll achieve that.

Available on most of the Huawei and Honor devices. The feature is always present in kernel but sometimes disabled in stock ROM. A simple build.prop and local.prop edit can enable this option if it's hidden or not present.

I guess that's already answered. You can use 'adb' to achieve it without root and it's permanent.

All modules that don't modify the UI largely will work without problems. However modules like Gravity Box, Android Nify and such modules that were designed keeping AOSP in mind will not work. However modules that modify the Status bar icons or Navigation bar buttons will work great but they do tend to break after every EMUI update. However most modules like Greenify, Force Doze, MinMinGuard and etc. will work without problems. Rule of thumb, modules that don't change the UI largely will work without problems.

Huawei devices are regional based and hence the frequencies are supported keeping the region it's released to in mind. However, devices are global so the chances of problems here are less.

Few Questions on Honor 8 Chinese Variant FRD-AL10

I live in India and was desperately waiting for this phone to release here.. But don't know why they released a single sim variant here.. So I had to import it from china.
AL10 variant works fine with Indian sim.. everything is perfect but just had a few question.
1. Does this phone has volte support.. If not then will It get volte support in near future like Indian variant.. - I cannot make calls from JIO 4G sim with its inbuilt dialer... (I have to keep the JioVoice App running to receive calls.. )
2. What about the updates?? Will I get EMUI 5.. ever??
3. This is something strange.. Apps generally do not gives notification on its own.. Like WhatsApp.. I have to open the app to get notification and receive messages.. Seems like it just does not work in background
Anyone?? Please

You've asked a lot, my friend. It's hard to predict the future. I can only try:
About VoLTE: I guess that it won't come with EMUI 5 for AL00 initially but it may be add later as VoLTE will become a standard feature soon in China too.
About upgrade: I had Chinese Honor 7 and upgrade to marshmallow came late and I had to download it from a Chinese website. I hope that it wouldn't be the case with Chinese Honor 8 since Huawei is committed to bring upgrades to every Honor device every 3 months.
And about your notification issue: Check app settings regarding notification, permission and battery. Make sure that all involved settings are enabled.
I too got a honor 8 FRD-AL00 Chinese version....
Please help me as well to remove chinese apps and as well as to get emui 5.....All others r getting it..... But not mine..... ????

This is common EMUI problem across all Honor mobiles. Updates might fix that. But its not for your model.

A few days ago I got the update, it wasn't EMUI 5, but regular security update B171. I'm pretty sure that EMUI 5 will follow. So be patient. Nobody has really gotten EMUI 5, some owners of US, UK and Indian models received beta version, but it's still buggy.
Regarding Chinese apps, a lot of them could be uninstalled. Those which can't, could be deactivated. Just use force stop and disable in settings-apps. And disabled apps (any other as well) could be removed from the home screen. On the screen pull two fingers together and you'll get option to hide any app you wish.
Install google play store and any other google app by your preference. Download and change theme - this one looks very promising: https://huaweiemuithemes.blogspot.si/2016/11/emui-50-dark-beta.html
change wallpaper, install Nova launcher and find better icom pack like: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.themezilla.pixelui&hl=en
Just download icon pack, change every icon on your home screen with the new one, save configuration and uninstall icon pack.
You gonna have totally western phone like your friends and you'll feel better.

As of my knowledge, This model won't get updated.
I do have Honor 5X like this. Im staying in EMUI 3 till now.
If it is US, Europe, Middle East and Indian region version we can guarantee that it will get for sure. Not for this one.
It certainly will get EMUI 5.0. There is no reason not to get it as the phone was launched this year. There are beta versions being tested now. Guess the actual update might only happen early next year. Check the official chinese forums for the updates: (use google translate and you will understand most of it) - http://club.huawei.com/forum-2404-1.html
And this one is specific to FRD-AL10 model as well: http://club.huawei.com/thread-11277704-1-1.html

If you are having KNT-AL20, then you will get the EMUI 5. But it will be little late.
I have a KNT-AL10 that would also get EMUI 5. It's in closed beta testing now. I know it may be late, possibly by March-17
Its 2020 & still i am using Honor 8..model is FRD-AL10 and EMUI 8.Does it support VoLTE?

Unable to make Jio to Jio Calls

Hello all,
I am on BLN L22C675B320, India.
I am not able to make Particularly Jio to Jio calls. Rest of calls work fine. Have done factory reset as well. Talked to customer care, I'm told that they will release an Update to solve this issue. Is anyone else facing the same issue? Any solutions?
Just watch me too facing issue. Had a talk with customer service end of this month new update will be rolled
I was on 320 as well and all of a sudden, this problem started messing up my calls too. At first it was just Jio to Jio (incoming/outgoing) but gradually, most of my calls to other networks got weird. Now I dunno what went wrong cause I was on 320 for a long time and this problem started just before 2 weeks. I contacted Jio customer care and those morons were insisting me to update the firmware even after I told them that I was using Nougat. Haha!
I kept a lot of patience and it pissed the hell out of me eventually. I just did MNP to Vodafone as their network is the most stable so far. This is not just about Honor's firmware bugs guys. You cant make calls to hotline numbers or send SMSes to special numbers with Jio. Their network is extremely buggy and we cant expect more after using all those free offers. I have heard of many people using different phones facing some or other Volte issues just to make Jio work. I am done with this **** and I cant risk losing important calls anymore. I used Jio ever since it was launched and I guess I got to know a lot about how their network works by now.
Reliance is not Reliable.
Period.
Good luck with that upcoming update to solve the call issue but I am not waiting.
Its time to move on and I just did!
That is damn catchy. Reliance is not Reliable.

Well, I saw this new update 330 in the FF today and I decided to go for it. This patch is basically made to resolve the Jio call issue as it is stated in the changelog. But upon downloading the whole thing, it says "the package is not authorized so it will be deleted". I mean wtf, now I cant install it and wait for the official ota which is usually delayed.
Whats the point of an update if you cant install it? Trust me guys, Jio will usually have some or other issues. And I am totally done with this Volte ****. Thank god I requested for mnp to Vodafone 2 days back.
Good luck with the new update. But believe me, its better to be on a stable 4G network than on an unstable Volte one! :good:

Just want to mention Jio is not Reliance ... by the way Jio is Jhand
Also according to me people with Snapdragon, people not facing any problem in VoLTE... we are facing this because Honor has their own modem chip in our phone... which is no doubt so bitterly hardware engineered that our phone receives signal in the place where all other phone show no signal. but who cares if Firmware drivers are the piece of ****!!!
That is why they are forced to release a patch for the fix.
no offence those are just my understanding.

To,
Dear non volte kid,
isn't volte a feature? let somebody test and reply to dev. instead of cheap mockery you just test what's available in your region 3g/ 4g whatever you have there and let others test what they can.
Could someone test and confirm that video recording records audio? I faced that issue in an earlier build. Thanks in advance ?
Really nice rom there. Any chance for disabling dashboard suggestion and notification quick pulldown? Other than that, it's perfect!

To,
Dear non volte kid,
isn't volte a feature? let somebody test and reply to dev. instead of cheap mockery you just test what's available in your region 3g/ 4g whatever you have there and let others test what they can.

for a 4g only network it ain't just a feature its a essential. kids won't understand. i don't want any devs to add volte because of me. its there own choice. they are making it. i was just asking .The dev can even say no to me . but he still responded even though he can't test the feature his own.

Volte is not a ROM feature dude! it's a network feature to bring clearer voice call
Did you read wikipedia???

The point is, our device supports VOLTE so if it doesn't work, it's a bug.
Also, India has volte and India also has the maximum number of note 4 users.
So, yeah we need this thing.

"UNKNOWN" caller ID problem

Hi guys,
I have a Chinese RN7P in Germany and so far I'm very happy with it. The only major issue remaining is that it doesn't show who is calling me. I have tried several ROMs (Pixel Experience & Evolution X), but the problem persists in both.
Even a new SIM card from my provider (Aldi Talk) didn't help, so I'm really hoping you guys can give me a hint what the problem might be and maybe even how to fix it! :fingers-crossed:
Thank you in advance!

No, nothing is displayed except "Call from Unknown". However, I just discovered that when I did not answer, I got a message from my mailbox that included the number.

They are stored in my Google account. Sadly I don't see an option to export the contact to the SIM where I'd expect (e.g. Contacts - Settings - Export).
I should also note that when I put my SIM into another phone, caller ID works flawlessly. :/

Thank you for your replies!
The "Phone" app already has permissions to everything.
Do you mean install an official MIUI ROM instead of a custom ROM like PE?

Puh, that took a while for me to try it out. Anyways, YES, it does work on the official Chinese ROM (both 10.3.9.0 and 10.3.11.0). And it stops working after I then flash a custom ROM. :silly:
So it has to be the ROMs, right? But then why is this not a more widespread problem? I'm really confused now.
By now I have also tried Lineage OS and Havoc, all of them don't show the caller ID while the stock one does. This is positively weird.

Weird indeed as none of the other users have reported this particular bug on LOS or any other custom ROM... Maybe you should bring this up with the devs, in case they have a potential fix?..

Yeah, I just tried the ROM from xiaomi.eu and it works with that one as well, so that's at least something (I'd still prefer a ROM from here).

Yeah, I have no idea how to even get started on this. And since it seems a rare occurrence, I doubt there is much interest in a fix or fixing it. :crying:

Try commenting in all the respective ROM forums, PM the devs if there's no response...
Strange but true, i do have the same problem, i have it with an Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro.
When i am on stock it is no problem at all but any custom rom has this issue. Firmware does nog make a difference.
I just solved the issue, by disabling 4g/volte call funxtion on the sim card that has the issue

Hmm, it definitely sounds like the same issue, however, for me it was the opposite: the xiaomi.eu ROM works while all others don't.

As I said before, I "solved" it by using the ROM from xiaomi.eu (currently MIUI 11.2, 20.4.1). I was thinking about trying another ROM now that almost a year has passed, but I simply don't have the time due to the Corona chaos. :silly:

Thanks, I can now (finally) confirm that disabling "4G Calling" solves the issue (Pixel Experience ROM). :good:
Settings -> Network & internet -> [Your SIM/network] -> 4G Calling
Thanks! I had the same issue on Pixel Experience on a Mi 10. Solved it for me.

I am facing the same issue on a POCO X3 NFC, strangely only for one of the two used SIMs.
Deactivating "4G Calling" solves the issue, though this is not a solution but a workaround. I don't want to miss the "Enhanced 4G" / VoLTE features, so what's the deal with this problem, which seems to be a general Xiaomi issue?
