Od3 tw Roms? - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone found any good od3 based Roms? I'd like to stick with touchwiz and I can't seem to find any recovery flashable zips for MM od3 tw based Roms. Is it possible that development on this device has just fallen by the wayside in its age?

Here is my 2 cents....(hope I don't go broke)
The only "OD3" ROM I know of, is the factory Img. ... might be able to git that from, Sammobile. An "After-Market" ROM for that base (OD3) will be rather hard to get, as you already know.
I can only guess is ... when OD3, was released, we had the "Stage Fright scare"... we also had, Samsung was putting more BS on THEIR System and TW (Factory Reset Protection, plus another update for that). If my foggy mind can recall, there is about 3 more "Releases" including the latest OK4, which we all are waiting and hope we skip 5.1.1. an go to 6.0 or even 6.1... (here Hoping)
Plus, Samsung made a "big" release for security back in Dec2015. however, no such "Monthly security updates" since...
Sad but true...
I know this does not really help, However, it is the actual Security Updates why some folks just waited. (again, if me foggy mind is working, we all received 3 more updates like in 5 months...

I ended up doing a rooted OK4 rom and its pretty slick so far. Updated to OK4 via Odin, then rooted and debloated from there. I remember a bit about the stagefright thing, but i was running MOAR OA6 at the time and was quite pleased with it, so i never read too much into it as it didnt apply to my ROM/baseband. I never really found out what that was entirely. Might need to do some more reading

inactive due to borked s5....... upgrade possibilties

Ok,,,,here is my plight...
about 6 months ago my s5 became unusable due to the fact that concrete and GS5's dont play well together...becoming more and more frustrated having to use an older phone (HTC ONE M7) i went ahead and threw caution to the wind and bought a new LCD digitizer for my GS5 and hoped for the best...
replaced my digitizer and VIOLA !! my phone booted and was exactly the same as it was the day before concrete and LCD collided..
after booting it up went in to check everything and all seems well....root was still good,,,just had to upgrade everything and move on..
my problem is that since it has been a while there have been so many changes as far as updates,,ROMs,,and other techniques i need to find out the steps to take and what would be my best plan of attack..
i am on MOAR v2.2 NE5 and when i installed that back when i first got the phone tripped KNOX,,but i dont think that is too much of a concern at this point...or is it ??
i have read alot of things about going to Lollipop but am not sure if i need to do anything except find a Firmware and flash it with Kies or if ODIN is a better way to go....it would be great if i were able to just jump right to MM but i know the chances of that happening are <0....
any help would be appreciated
thank you in advance
Well the latest version for this phone currently is Marshmallow, and there is a great mm n5 rom that is still a work in progress, but i reccomend downloading the full marshmallow restore tar file and using odin to update, then flash recovery, and then a rom of your choosing (currently the n5 rom or a version of cm13). But to flash a lollipop rom download the OK4 lollipop restore file (last version of lollipop 5.0) and do the same process.
hadn't heard much so i went ahead and downloaded an OK4 firmware and flashed with ODIN....works flawlessly setting up now
surprisingly enough,,,it kept all of my settings from MOAR.....hafta say that i am shocked.....gotta love Android

I'm still on 4.1.2. Now need to update to 4.2.. for MLB At Bat

I have been on a plain rooted 4.1.2 rom for years. I now need to update for a couple apps I use to work. Can someone give me some brief feedback and point me in the right direction so I can update my phone without locking the bootloader?
I like the plain set up I have now, so maybe I just need to update to the highest version without locking BL. Thanks.
I thought about trying this---> File: cm-10.1-20130315-NIGHTLY-d2vzw.zip, but all links that I've found are dead. Anyone know where I might find this file? Thanks
CM is dead. The leftovers rose from the ashes as Lineage OS.
Look them up. Pretty stable.
Jump straight into Marshmallow or Nougat. I'm still on CM12.1 Lollipop, but the newer stuff should work fine. There are threads for all of it, so do good reading before you start.
Thanks for answering my thread. I haven't messed around with my phone in years. I guess what you're saying is since I've never took the OTA 4.3, I can load an advanced CM without locking my bootloader.
phonetool....thanks for the input. I tried Nougat but I had issues with my 3G data and a couple other little things.
I decided to go with 12.1 Lollypop and it is great. All my apps work and 3G fires right up.

best / most up-to-date daily driver ROM?

I did a quick search but most of what I found was > 1 year ago. For those still rocking the SGS3 as their daily driver, what's the best ROM available from a stability / security perspective? Are there any changes since last year, or has everybody moved on? I'm on 4.4.2 right now and have noticed things have been slowing down over the past year or so but I'm still fighting the urge to upgrade to a new phone. I still think Samsung nailed it with this model and would like to hang onto it a little while longer.
edit: I've been looking around and it looks like I'm out of luck because I'm probably on the 4.4.2 NE1 firmware. Sad times.
So I dug out my old SGS3 with the busted screen and swapped out the mainboards with the newer 4.4.2 one so I could get access to my old unlocked bootloader. Tried flashing the latest builds of Lineage, OctOS, and Carbon but all 3 would just bootloop. I thought maybe it was because I was on an old CWM recovery so I hunted all over until I found a ROM I could boot (an old Gingerbread AOKP build) so I could use it to install TWRP.
Got TWRP 3.1 going on there and tried again with all the Nougat ROMS (Lineage, OctOS, Carbon) but no luck, still the same behavior. So I threw in the towel and bought an Essential PH1. It's the only good looking phone I could find in the same size range as the SGS3.

Samsung Galaxy S Relay most current CM ROM and TWRP?

Hi All,
I have a two Relays that have served me well, and I enjoyed having them, but the time has come to pass them on to someone else. Before I do that, I'd like to update them to the most recent versions of stable-release software that is available for them.
For Cyanogen, I have:
cm-11-20150831 (this is stable)
cm-11-20160523 (this is a nightly build)
For recovery I have:
philz touch 6.48.4
I'd like to replace Philz with a newer TWRP, but the Relay is no longer listed on the TWRP website. I'm also wondering if there was ever a stable CM release newer than the one I have.
Does anyone have sources for the above?
Thanks.
Is there any one still developing for this device? If so, is it possible to get Android Go on it.. might just breathe new life into it and bring it upto date..

Although I'm not a developer I have been working on my SGH T699 from T Mobile. You may already know of the JellyBean and before. Recently I've noticed new builds for the samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G like the Validus 5.0.2 or the Fat Toad. I haven't tried those yet I was trying for a higher version. With 8.0 Oreo it requires partitioning and I need to brush up on that. So I went lower to the 7.0 or the 7.1 Nougat. I started noticing a lot of broken or old links so I had to resort to fishing the internet for most of the packages apparently lost in XDA. I pretty much have all of them and was just starting to try a few out when I ran into problems like I want to keep using the keyboard and Wifi calling or a related Wifi issue. It also crashed, went into bootloop or even soft bricked within a few days. The Roms and packages I've found are highly unstable and I see many had flashing issues. So far I've been tricking my device into taking the flash and even then it doesn't hold long. I'd like 6.0 MarshMallow if I can, maybe 7.1 if they ever get stabler that'd be great. But so far the ROMs for the Galaxy S (relay) are fairly horrible to say the least. I get the impression these so-called developers aren't testing their ROM creations more than 5 minutes and then handing them off to noobs who may be very likely to brick their device trying to get it in and running, only to have it crash repetedly! Or worse, hard-bricked.
I like this device. I think I'll keep working on it.

Recommendation for Oreo and maybe Custom ROM

I'm not really a very advanced user, but always had rooted devices and two that I flashed Custom Roms. This is my first Samsung, finding Touchwiz to be very different from what I used before.
I bought the S7 (930F) and had the news that it was going to be updated to Oreo, so I decided waiting for the update before tinkering with it.. But the update never came. Finally this month Samsung released the update for my region, so I would like to know which would be the best way for me to start finally using my phone that I bought for over 2 months!
My phone is still with Nougat, is it better for me to get the OTA or to flash the Firmware I downloaded from Sammobile? Any of these methods better than the other in preventing errors? I always found in PCs that a fresh clean install was better than an update, but with mobiles I don't have the experience to say.
My main objective is to experiment before doing a debloat as I'm still not sure what might be useful for me on Samsung's bloat (you are welcome to point me what is useful and what is not).
I did see that some of the Customs ROMS have different camera apps and some people were complaining about this, I particularly liked the S7 camera app and the Pro option, that's what holds me back in flashing a Custom ROM atm.
I would like to Root and I find Unlocked Bootloader to be useful to have Xposed Framework and other things that I can do having it.
As I'm a relative newbie, what would you guys recommend me doing? Please help
tl;dr: I want to have Oreo, be able to debloat, want to root and unlock bootloader, not sure about Custom Rom.
Lineage if you want basic and simple (sort of like stock Android). Resurrection Remix if you're a customisation nut (not a slam... I use RR).
If you wonna full samsung u need flash base firmawre custom roms only 8.0 android
If you dnt need samsung integration (pulsometr doesnt work) you can flash 8.1 roms try cosmic os or Lineage 15
