Hi;
When i want to login with my gmail account the internal E-mail app doesnt recognize my Gmail account. And con not connect. When i try it form my Hotmail it works interestingly.
After i receive the "Unable to connect, check your password and maybe IMAP and SMTP service may be unavailable" message on the screen ( as seen on the attachment) Google sends me an e-mail that nearly says " A sign in attempt has prevented".
Can not use gmail with internal app.
Why can it be? Is it still a China-Google war?
And on the other hand when my Playstore origin Gmail app receives an e-mail on the notification drawer the background color is the same color as the mail's subject. And two of them black can not be read. How can we change the transparecy of the notification drawer? I tried it also with a white background wallpaper.
Is any any one using internal mail app with Gmail account?Still can not connect.
Your email password can not be the password you use with gmail.
I explain myself:
1)Log in to your google account
2)Click on connexion and security
3)On the left, choose "Connect with google"
4)On the new page, choose :"Application password"
5)Enter your actual google account password
6)There you'll see "Select an application", click on it, choose "mail"
7)In the other box, choose "Other", (android is not listed)
8)Enter a name of your choice, i choose "Mate 8"
9)Click on "generate", a password should appear in a yellow screen
Go back to your email on mate 8, enter your mail adress and for the password enter simply the password on your google account (example: fxbibmhhxpedbpxp)
Enjoy !
Thanks dude. I've just seen the message.

I have outlook and gmail set as mail accounts - outlook to the server, gmail over the net, of course - but when i select messaging if tf3d it picks the most recently used box and when i do it in landscape mode it seems to default to my sms box (even though i have told it to show the account selector)
but
what i want it to do is to default, at least in landscape mode, to the outlook account
is this possible?

Hi!
I solved the problem with renameing mailbox's
I put on primary name:
1 - Gmail.com
on second
2 - myips.com
where do you set primary name, please?
Just rename account name
Menu/Tools/Options/
then select account
and edit account settings
Account display name
If "Account display name" grey colored.
Then you need to delete account and create new with
numbers in name.
1 -
2 -
3 - ...
Sorry for my English.

Google's POP/SMTP access allows you to "workaround" most ISP's policy of sending out email via default SMTP port. Here are set of steps to configure proper gmail POP access from multiple devices with on Windows Mobile 6 Messaging.
Start > Messaging.
Click New E-Mail Account. If you already have one configured then select your existing gmail account and then click Tools > Options followed by another click on gmail account in the list of current accounts you have defined.
Enter your email address (eg: [email protected]). You may need to create the address as @tempgail.com so that you can deselect the automatic email discovery.
Enter your name.
Enter gmail.com in the Account Display Name.
For Incoming Mail Server type pop.gmail.com:995 (notice the :995 - that's the POP port number you need to specify as per gmail's official setup configuration).
For Account Type choose POP3.
For User Name type recent:[email protected].
Type in your password (check Save password), click Next.
For Outgoing SMTP Mail Server type smtp.gmail.com:587 (again, notice the port number 587 added after colon) and check both checkboxes below the smtp server name for requiring authentication and to use same username for sending and receiving email.
Click Advanced Server Settings and select both checkboxes for Require SSL for Incoming E-mail as well as for Require SSL for Outgoing e-mail.
Choose The Internet for the Network Connection dropdown on the same screen and click Done to continue with setup.
Click Next.
Choose some frequency for automatic send and receive of emails (eg. Every 10 minutes) and select All Messages for Download Messages dropdown
Click Advanced Settings and under When Deleting Messages dropdown, select Keep Them On The Server.
Click Done and click Next to go to final step.
Choose message format as HTML and message download limit of 2KB (or higher).
Click Finish.
With the above setup my HTC TouchPRO and Gmail work like a breeze.
Important trick is the use of "recent:" in your account name - this apparently relies on gmail's "recent mode" which allows multiple clients to access messages via POP without getting into that trouble with one client getting the messages and the others don't. Apart from that, make sure you use the port number for POP and SMTP server as outlined above.
Enjoy,
thankss...
I would greatly appreciate it if you posted this guide again here:

My HD2 is connecting to gmail and other custom mails, then it also shows connected and downloading headers in the progress bar for all the mails, but no mail is visible in the inbox folder. I can send new email using the same account which again is only visible on PC and is downloaded on my HD2 but not shown.
Does anyone knows, how to fix this?
I have my browser Gmail configured to send from my Gmail or my @gatech.edu email, so how do I select the @gatech.edu email address from the updated Gmail app?
When composing or replying to a message, you should see your default @gmail address in a bar across the top. If you tap that, it gives a drop-down menu of available addresses to use instead.
Ah, there it is now. I guess it had to sync the changes on its own. I tried manually syncing after adding the account, but it didn't give me the option until this morning.
Hello, I have problem with adding a Google account to my MB860 running the custom 2.3.7 MRom. In fact, when I want to add a Google account in the setting in "Account and Sync", it asks me rather I aent to sign in an existing Google account or create a new Google account. As I already have one, I choose to simply sign in. After that, it asks me for the username of the Google account and the password. And here is the problem. OK, firstly, I enter the primary email address which is not the a Gmail email address (but I use it every time to sign into my account) in the Username box. Then, I enter my password (the one every time I sign into my account) in the password box. And finally, I tap Next and it says that the email address that I provided is not end with @gmail.com and that's mean that I must enter a email address end with @gmail.com. However, I do not think that I have that kind of email address since I only have the primary email address that I use to sign into the Google account and the one they accepted. Next, by curiosity, I check the "Account and Sync" section in my Jelly Bean phone, and what they asks for signing into a Google Account is totally different. In fact, they only asks you for the primary email address that you use to sign in and the password rather than a @gmail.com email address. What can I do?
