Emergency! Please help! - AT&T LG G3

So, I was just browsing on my phone, as usual, when all of a sudden it made a loud beep then shut off. It tried to restart itself, but after the LG logo popped up, gray lines came up all over screen, like an old TV that wasn't getting enough reception, and it shut off again: for good. It will not even attempt to come back on or even boot into recovery. It's just completely dead. Plugging it into a charger makes no difference and neither does removing and reinserting the battery. It is rooted and unlocked, but I did that around six months ago. It is still running the stock ROM. I have never put a custom ROM on it. I have not done anything unusual with it. I've just been using it normally. I tried to Google what happened, but couldn't find ANYTHING. I'm praying it's the battery, but will have to order one from Amazon and wait as there's nowhere to get one in my rural area. Has anyone ever heard of this?? A very loud beep an then completely dying?? Please, please help!!!

It could be the battery. But sounds like your phone is dead.

Bootloop, nothing works. Please help!!

I have been running Zeus Rom for months now and everything has been fine. Until today. I was just on my phone today and it cut off. Then it went into a boot loop. Won't go past the Samsung screen. I can't find any solution to get the phone into download mode. I have read everything. Switched computers, tried different ports and even switched usb cords. Even tried several combinations of buttons to no avail.
Here is what happens when I try to get into download mode:
I hold down up and down volume, insert battery and then plug in usb cord. I see a spinning wheel and empty battery sign. Then it cuts right back off and does it all over again. Could this be a battery issue or what?
My phone has been bricked before I fixed it with no problems. This has got me stumped. Something is preventing me from getting into download mode and keeping me in boot loop.

To get to download mode, be sure to plug in USB before putting the battery in, and keep holding down the volume buttons down for some time.
If the battery isn't showing a charge, though, then let it charge. If it isn't charging, try another cable, and then maybe a new battery.

Tried another battery I had, not fully charged, and the first time I put it in the bottom buttons lit up and the phone booted up, only to cut back off and do the same thing again with the boot loops. It too showed this battery to be completley dead. I am not sure if that is so or not as I have't used this battery in a while.
I am charging both batteries now to try to get them charged. I have one in a wall charger and hte other in the phone plugged into the wall. The one in the phone is still showing no charge as the phone keeps cutting on and off and showing the battery sign witha spinning circle.
I have no idea whats going on but need to find out soon!

You dont have to plug it in before puting the battery in...i never do...
How i get in download
1) pull battery
2) put battery back in
3) hold volume up + down simutaniously
4) while holding volume plug usb cord into phone
it sounds like he is pretty much doing it the way i do except for the volume he does before putting in battery...should work either way
Could it be a problem with your motherboard/mainboard whatever you wanna call it? When did you get the phone? If its been under a year i would file warranty with samsung...not att. If it is the mother board they probably will never even know its rooted or anything since it wont even turn on...and no software will fix it...
There still is a chance they will find out its rooted and has a custom rom on it...but i think the chances of that are highly unlikely...so i would go for warranty...

UPDATE:
This is so weird. After nothing working all day, I finally remembered something. About 15 mins before my phone started this today, I dropped my phone while getting out of my truck. I didn't think anything about because I have a double layer case on it. But this evening, I remembered that and I thought maybe that had somethign to do with it. So what else could I do? Bang the phone on the ground again. So I tapped it a few hard times on the ground and sure enough the lights on teh bottom on the phone came on and it booted up and has stayed up.
Apparently the drop this morning has done something inside the phone. Do you guys have any idea what this could be? What could dropping the phone have to do with a boot loop and what could be solved by banging it on the ground again?
Maybe it is luck, but it is working. I just feel it will happen again soon as something is wrong inside the phone.

Oh, okay, cool. I always do it how I described, so it must work either way. I was just trying to help the OP not go into the battery charging screen.
And to the OP: Bummer, it sounds like you have some busted hardware, but hopefully it will keep working now.

loose connection insider vs corrosion issue I mentioned to you earlier.
if you're under warranty, flash a stock package and warranty.
if you're not under warranty, learn how to drop your phone correctly.

Oh my god. the same thing happened to me last night. I've been searching all day trying to figure out how to fix it and I came across your post saying you just banged it on the ground a few times and it started working. I did the same thing and sure enough, it started working again! It's so weird. What I don't get is that I didn't drop my phone at all yesterday. It just did it randomly while i was texting.

[Q] sensation vibrates and black screen bootloop

Hey I have a sensation 4g. All has been well until today. I was at work and got an email. Went to check it but the screen wouldnt turn on. This has happend several times since using Viper rom, which is why I switched to energy. I pulled the battery and went to turn it back on.
Since than all I get out of it is a brief lighting of the screen followed by a boot vibration. After that the screen stays off and it "boot vibrates" at regular intervals never displaying anything. Attempts to get into the boot loader for recovery are met with the same.
If I plug a charger into it the charge indicater lights for about 15 seconds than turns off. Occasionally I can see a red light in the upper left hand corner.
I have used a htc g2 battery held against the pins as a known good battery so I have eliminated my battery as bad.
It is rooted, was running ICS Energy rom.
adb does not detect the device nor does linux or windows, but thats not too unusual since it technically doesnt turn on.
I am assuming that the thing is totally dead for whatever reason, but on the off chance someone has any ideas Im all ears, I love this phone.

Maybe it was a hardware failure. how many times does it vibrate? there is something called qualcomm diagnostic mode that htc phones sometimes get happens when the hboot gets corrputed/damaged. depending how many vibrations you get some people have had luck attempting to blind boot a pc58img.zip to the bootloader to flash a ruu. but since your phone isnt being recognised by the pc as anything i wouldnt hold out to much hope how many vibes do you get?
You might be in diag mode, as heavy_metal_man said.
Does QHSUSB_DLOAD come up in Device Manager?
neither windows nor linux recognize the device at all.
as far as the vibration. I call it a boot vibration, as it is the same intensity and duration of the normal boot vibrate you get on power up.
Its a single vibration of about one second. After that every about 30 seconds it vibrates again.
I did try to shove a P58IMG.zip onto the sd card but I figured that was a long shot anyway and of course nothing happened.
Just out of curiosity have you tired another battery? I know you did check it but one time I was charging my device with a perfectly good battery, it wasn't low, and my device made a weird noise like a high pitch noise then went black. I had no charging light, no life what so ever. I thought I was completely screwed thinking something fried my device. Out of desperation I put another fully charged battery in. Then my device sprang back to life and I haven't had any trouble since. I never figured out what happened. But I was so Glad it worked. So just for curiosity do try another battery. It can't hurt to try it. In my weird case it worked. Like I said earlier the weird part was my battery was good! Not dead! So it won't hurt to just try. You have nothing to lose. I do hope it helps. Good luck and best wishes!

sadly I have no other battery, I have a g2 battery that I can hold in as a substitute but still the same result. I will try to throw that img back on the sd card and see if I can blind install it.
Appreciate the help guys.

Battery?

So I just picked up this s3, it will turn on but shuts off halfway through galaxy splash screen. Boots into recovery and Odin mode just fine, prior to purchasing we plugged it in, got it to boot and did a factory reset, to clear privious owners data, and it went fine, did it reboot and took me to setup. Satisfied with its performance I went ahead and made the purchase, upon unplugging it shut off, as I expected if battery was indeed shot. What gets me is I let it charge, unplugged, booted, shut off at splash screen, plug back in and says its still fully charged. Boot into recovery and indeed, 100% battery. I haven't gotten around to flashing twrp or rooting, was wondering if anyone has experienced this?

Anyone got any ideas? Just got home, am able to boot past the splash screens as long as its plugged in but once I try to start using it (going through setup/tutorial) it ends up rebooting, computer can read phone in odin/recovery modes but don't see a point reflashing stock firmware if this phone was never touched, completely stock unrooted, just a factory reset upon purchasing. I've read somewhere about a stuck power button, is that common among the Verizon s3? If so ill pop it open and check it out.
Phone was already on 4.4 when I got it, I downloaded and flashed stock firmware (ne1) via odin, I got the whole way to the end of setup and as soon as it started loading the homescreen it cut off and went to the green battery charge icon when phones off. Everytime I try and boot it, she'll go through all the splash screens and ill catch a very short glimpse of the homescreen and it shuts off. Also it HAS to be plugged in still, or else it just shuts off halfway through initial "galaxy s3" splash.. I don't understand...
Have you tried a new battery? Even if it's plugged in it won't run if the battery is completely shot.
Also if you indeed have a Verizon S3 on NE1 firmware you will not be able to install TWRP as the bootloader is locked. You will be able to root, however.

The stuck power button seems to affect users IN recovery mode too, it seems like phone randomly reboots in recovery.
You can pick up a new battery from amazon for like $7 I think, its been a while, but might be worth it.
It could also maybe be some issue in transferring charge from the battery to the main board, meaning maybe bad connections/contacts.
Is it plugged in when it reboots, because that may indicate poor contacts, since the charger alone isn't able to power the device (ex I used to be able to take out my LG Ally battery when plugged in and it functioned fine).
Good luck!

Turns out it was the battery all along, found a battery that the contacts matched on (even though it was only 1650 mAh) wedged it in with paper and it booted just fine. Found a battery on craigslist that night and has worked great ever since, unfortunately PO had already updated to 4.4.2 so im stuck with that Thanks for the response, I just found it odd that the battery held a charge just didn't work.. maybe I should check the contacts on that and clean them.

Droid Maxx Black Screen Of Death

Background, I have a Droid Maxx that I purchased/leased from Verizon, that arrived with 6-7.2. I downgraded to 6-7 and rooted. From the time of purchase the phone would reboot a few times a week. After rooting it began to reboot usually daily or many times a day. A week ago on Saturday it rebooted and began to loop from splash screen and back off. After many restarts it went into the factory recovery and no options would work and the screen forever went black. It has been charged for days, no button combinations work, except when plugged into the computer while holding the down vol it will load the hsusb drivers will sometimes load, and occasionally when connected to the computer or wall charger the green led will light. So I took the phone into verzion and they see the same results and attempted to charge it with both a cable and wireless, same results. So they shipped a new unit to me and before shipping this old one back to them I have a few questions for ones of you that may know the answer:
Anything I can do to restore it to stock? I assume no from my research
Will they discover its rooted?
If so what will be the resulting action?
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Hi..
It's just a guess, but I don't think they waste any time trying to figure out what happened, specially since they already gave you a new unit. I would say, Don't bother

Thanks, that is sort of what I was thinking. I suspect the boot partition is corrupt. But, wasn't sure being a new customer with Verizon.
Hey can you link me something about how you downgraded your droid ultra from SU6-7.2 to SU6-7
LOL, just flash SU6-7 (CFC-obakem_verizon-user-4.4.4-SU6-7-release-keys.xml) with RSD-Lite. That's the easiest way.

Possible input hopefully it helps with your issue. Something similar has happened to me, but it was not software related. I am BootLoader Unlocked, but the only mod is for tether.
My phone would continuously reboot, but all I ever see is a black screen. sometimes when it stops rebooting the phone was actually powered on and responds to my voice commands, rings from calls, and notifications sounds work, but black screen.
My issue was actually due to the screen/LCD connection getting a little loose . Tech took phone apart disconnected and reconnected my screen, and problem solved. No more boot loops nor black screen.
It happened to me again a few months later, but I had dropped the phone a couple of times, which probably caused the loose screen connection a second time. After getting fixed again, I have had no issues, but then again, my Maxx also hasn't had any bad falls.

In the case of my phone, you could hold the power button in for a long period of time and then release and still nothing, not a flicker. I did not try voice commands, not a bad idea, but I did not want to open the phone due to the fact it was being replaced (further risking a decline on replacement).
On a similar note, the new unit seems to reboot at least once daily.

Damn phone stuck in bootloop!

Came home from work yesterday and the Pure XL was dead, said it needed to be charged. Never happened before but I figured whatever and plugged it in and went to sleep. Woke up this morning and powered on the phone and the all white BLU splash screen came up and then the phone went off. Came on again and the all white BLU splash screen came up and went off. Ive tried holding down the power button for over a minute. Tried holding the power button and volume keys to boot into recovery from 10 seconds to 2 minutes, nothing stops it! It just keeps rebooting. This has been my apprehension towards purchasing phones with non removable batteries. The boot recycle happens about every 15 seconds and the phone vibrates everytime it boots up for the past 2 hours. Its getting very annoying and there is no way to make it stop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Plug it into your computer (you'll notice that there will be a longer black screen in-between the bootloops) and hold down the power button for at least 10 seconds or more, then release it after the next vibration and the white BLU screen shows up. It might take a couple of tries.
If you manage to boot into at least recovery but can't boot into the system, then try clearing your cache/dalvik cache and try rebooting into system again.
If all of the above doesn't work for you, then your boot.img/system has gone bad, and you'll have to flash the stock images with SP Flash Tool (both of which can be found on other posts on this forum).
follow the instructions on the SP flash tool thread... sounds like what happened to me after bad flash... theres a lot of information in that thread that will set you up...
Thanks for the quick replies guys. The PC trick didnt work at all. I just called BLU and asked for a replacement(havent heard back from them ironically). I put the phone in the basement so I wouldnt have to deal with that incessant buzzing every 15 seconds. Eventually the battery died. Since I had it powered off finally, I plugged it in for about 10 minutes to give it enough of a charge to power on but not stay on to buzz for another 2 hours. This time I powered it on using the master reset button combo and was finally able to wipe the cache and restart the phone. Took a good 4 or 5 minutes to boot after that, but everything has been fine since. Really dont know what initially caused the issue, never happened before. Good thing too, cause BLU told me that they would send me a RMA within the hour and I still havent heard from them. Think this will be my last BLU phone. Thanks for the assist.

My phone is basically out of the box and I'm getting boot loop problems when I first boot. This happens like once a month
Sent from my PURE XL using XDA-Developers mobile app
This happened to me for first time yesterday. Bought the phone earlier this year and everything worked fine. I restarted the phone because my sound recorder app froze up twice on open and the infinite boot started until the battery died. Tried the {power}{vol up} thing, didn't work to stop it, so I put it in my car and went back to the conference I was attending. Battery was dead when I got out. Contacted BLU by phone and they started a ticket for me, but I figured I'd see if other people were having this issue and learn what they did because I'd rather not be out of a phone for however long it takes for BLU to replace mine. Stumbled on this page. I never rooted my phone. And BLU only sent one wireless update since I've had the phone. I'm trying to get into the menu by connecting to the computer. Worked the first time, I cleared cache, and tried to backup my files, but I'd taken out the SD card in expectation of sending it to BLU. So, Powered off the phone, put the card back in, and now I haven't been able to get the menu back. Still working on it, if there are any suggestions anyone drops on me before Tuesday when I'll likely ship it (or at least hope to because I'll be yelling at them Monday), I'd appreciate it.

I tried to flash the phone, but the bootloop apparently wouldn't allow that. I had 0.0% progress after 3 hours. I then tried to go back into the menu you get from {Power}{Vol UP}: still no go. So, I started to take the phone apart again to get ready for shipping. The battery was still low so it didn't take long for it to die after I unplugged it from the computer. Out of curiosity, I tried to repeat finding the menu like I did earlier that day (conditions were that the phone had no charge when I connected it to the computer, and my SD card was removed.) No go. But, then I hit {Power}{Vol Up}{Vol Down} just to see what happened, and boom. My phone loaded up. No loop... Figured somehow the files had copied and the status bar was wrong. Turned the phone off, put my SD card back in and turned the phone on. Loop reappears ...I waited for the phone to die again, took out the SD, attempted to turn it on and the loop was there. Connected it to the computer and hit all 3 buttons, and the phone loads up. So, now I'm confused. Is there any way that the problem is some crappy connection to the SD?
