Working fine for me as well
Yea after I toggled and untoggled the setting a bunch of times and it finally started working.
Same problem here. It's been doing it since I got the phone. No idea why.

Same here... no matter what I do it crashes consistently. Toggle from notification bar works but if I click on the "Do not disturb turned on" it will also crash.
"Unfortunately, Settings has stopped." every time I try to access the "Do not disturb" section on my S7E..

Unfortunately no dice I toggled Sound Mode, Vibrate while ringing, Volumes, Intensity, Pattern, and all the toggles under System and Key-tap Feedback a few times, then tried Do not disturb and still FC. Toggled everything again and rebooted, and still FC. Also cleared the "Settings" cache from the Apps section in case something had gotten corrupted. Thanks for the suggestion, hopefully it can be narrowed down.

Did you try toggling the switch in the notification panel? That is what fixed it for me. Push it on/off 3 times and hold the toggle. Second row last column of the image.
I still prefer Silence Premium Do Not Disturb (already had it bought). Not to be a sales man but to me DnD sometimes when I hit the volume rocker disables itself. With Silence I can just click the notification and it will resume the scheduled mute.
I can confirm the same issue on my S7. I have tried all of the listed fixes including a factory reset. No go.
No issues or problems here. Every since my wife used on her S6 I started to use it on my Note 4 and now S7 Edge.

Just tried toggling that option about 5 times (DnD enables / disables) and still get a FC when trying to access its settings. I'll have to check out the app, thanks for the suggestion. I rely on DnD quite a bit!
Wohoo! I got it working! I'm not sure if this is exactly what did it, but last thing I tried was toggling the DnD option in the notification panel a few times, and then left it as toggled "On" and restarted the phone. Once restarted it still said DnD was on, and I was able to click the notification and it finally let me in to the settings.
Same problem here... apart from the fixes don't work for me - or haven't at any rate!
Annoying as I need to set times for the DnD, so toggling doesn't cut it!
So, oddly mine has started working as of yesterday... no idea how/ why - very annoying!
Having the same issue. Toggling and restarting did not work for.
Looks like this is a bug in the core Android settings application. It fails when it attempts to read the schedule start time. Why do some of us have the issue and others not? I suspect it's because those that have the issue might have set up a DND schedule on a different phone and that gets restored when you setup the S7 the first time.
Bug has been reported to Google and I'm hoping that they can provide guidance on how to clear the associated settings without having to wait for the bug to be fixed in code. Because we will be waiting forever for that fix to hit our phones!
DND works fine for me. I have it on a daily schedule, and sometimes manually activate it via quick settings

Got Mine Working
I fixed it but couldn't get it to work the way that was described above.
Here's what I ended up doing.
I think I had DND turned off and then I turned the volume all the way down using the volume rocker buttons. When it was all the way down, I turned it down one more click. I then slid it open from the top and clicked the DND button to turn it on. I then clicked the DND notification panel and it opened automagically!
Hopefully this or some variation helps some people.
Good luck.
Now I just want it to turn off DND based on my alarms, like my CM-rooted LG G3 would do.

Even after going into the settings to turn off the vibrate settings, my phone still vibrates when it gets a notification It gets quite annoying sometimes when i'm at home.
It only seems to happen when i'm using profile. Ah I solved it. It was all under App groups in the profile. The profile seems to override the settings in the settings app.

I've turned off prrofiles but I am still facing the issue. Can you help me out please ?
So, before Lollipop we used to slide the volume down to zero to get in to vibration mode, and press another time to go complete silent.
I used to have my phone in silent mode at work, sitting on the table, because vibration on a table is pretty noisy. I just silenced it and the notification light showed me any incoming notifications.
Lollipop introduced this new "Priority Interruptions" mode, and if you don't have any interruptions set up it is basically like the old silenced mode. The issue is that in priority mode the LED notification light doesn't light up anymore!
So, any help replicating a completely silent and non-vibrating phone showing notifications through led?
Thanks in advance :good:
UPDATE:
If you use a third party app to light up the light while in priority mode, you have to enable his notification access:
Settings > Sound and Notification > Notifications Access > Check Lightflow/Light Manager Access
Also you need the notification app itself to be activated as a priority interruption:
Settings > Sound and Notification > App notifications > Lightflow/Light Manager > Enable Priority
Thanks to sorcio91 on figuring this out. :good:
Meanwhile we found out some apps don't obey to priority rules. Whatsapp is one of them, and also user naelya reports Viber is creating issues. If you find any issue with some other app let us know in this topic. According to sorcio91, dowloading the version at http://www.whatsapp.com/android/ solves the issue.
I have my phone on silent 24/7 and rely on notification light too.. Frustrating they removed a basic feature like putting ringtone/vibrations on silent only..
Glad I'm not the only one having this issue. I use timeriffic to setup profiles, but it's pretty much useless now. At work I usually have my phone on silent and use my watch and notification light for notifications, but that doesn't work now. Looks like the final build is more of a nod towards the N6.
Will tasker get round this?
I have a problem with that too....
And: with priority interruptions active, whatsapp continues to make sounds when notifications arrives...is for you the same?

Had the same issue on the developer preview, but i thought it was a preview bug at that point. Didn't receive many notifications in the last few hours, but i'll see if i experience that also.
Back on the notification light:
Is there anyway we can report back to google? But this is more of a feature request than a bug i think.

Dear friend, i've just found a workaround...the version of whatsapp downloadble at http://www.whatsapp.com/android/ works well with lollipop notifications manager, but if you update or install it from the play store it will (in some strange way) bypass the notification manager and it will "ring" even in priority mode.
Let me know if it works for you...
my whatsapp seems to be working ok, just the notification light thing is bugging me.

Have you tried if lightflow or some app like that does the job for the notifications?
I just tried with a friend and Whatsapp rings full volume in priority mode, even if it's not set up to. That's strange, becasue I thought that ringtone volumes were blocked at system-level.

I use Light Manager but I don't think it's the app fault. The led does not light up even with in-app basic light settings. I wrote to the developer to know if he eventually can override that behavior (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56706374&postcount=2015).
I also have Lightflow PRO from the Play Store, but didn't have time to try that extensively. I doubt it will work though.

That's bad. But it's also possible that Whatsapp uses some deprecated code in the app development that results in this. It's not the first time that this multi-billion company shows examples of really bad app design...

I have app Light Flow. It work. But seems there is one trick for this. Install Light flow app. Then go in Options/Accessibilitiy and and turn on Lighht Flow Lite!
Please answer if this working for you.

Just click volume button, and there is priority mode. Just click first option! Or set priority mode. In priority mode you can turn on notification for like SMS, and turn of for incoming calls!

I know that you can use NONE, but that way also alarms are silenced. And in the morning I need to wake up to something :good:
By the way without any third party software you can't have notifications light up when in priority. Don't know if consider this an issue or an intended feature. By the way, with light manager, notification access is also enabled but doesn't seem to work anyway.
I still can't get it to work. I have the full version of the app. I have it activated, no persistent icon (other than the L Preview one it puts on automatically) and then I have set priority mode on with no active notifications...but nothing lights up.
Does anyone else have this problem or know how to stop it?
The schedule function is off, so it can't be that. I've enabled the exception for alarms within it since this keeps happening, but could be dangerous for some people if it does enable on its own like this.

I figured out it was automateit, the app. I had it set to turn the phone down to silent at a certain time of night, but apparently this option enables do not disturb mode on this phone instead of just silencing it. Just poor handling, can't blame the app though, phone is still very new.

"Do not disturb" setting turns on randomly
Same problem. Any advice appreciated. For the moment I've gutted the DND setting by telling the phone to let calls, texts, and emails through when in DND mode.
Are you sure its not some app you have installed on the phone?
JuiceDefender for example does this for me, even when do not disturb is turned off in the main settings.

Thanks. Yes, it's an app, though I don't yet know which one. Restarted in Safe Mode and issue went away.
Do not disturb coming on by its self .
I had the same problem on my Samsung J7 .
What I did to solve that problem was I uninstalled all my apps and reinstalled them one by one and watched which one was giving me problems .....And the app TrackR was my problem now I have no problem with my do not disturb ...The app TrackR seems to have a bug .
Happens w the S8+ too
I have tried and tired to figure this out. I am missing important texts because my DND is turning on in the middle of the day randomly despite turning it off. Any ideas?
I bought a Samsung S8, and immediately started having this problem. It stumped me for a while, until I found this thread. I had installed Tasker and imported the settings from my old phone. It turns out that the action to turn on silent mode was turning on Do Not Disturb instead. The actions that used to say Silent Mode "On" now said "Mode 2". I tested it out and, sure enough, it went to Do Not Disturb. For some reason, "On" no longer appears in the pull down box for silent mode; only "Off" and "Vibrate". For now, I'll switch all the broken actions to say "Vibrate".
So I've noticed since upgrading to Pie, when using the quick toggle switches, the wrong item is displayed at the bottom of the screen. If I was to click the wifi toggle, it will say mobile data enabled at the bottom of the screen. If I was to click the wifi toggle off, it says wifi enabled at the bottom. I'm 110% stock (Verizon version ?) thoughts?

That I believe is because you have night mode turned on in the messages app, or any other Google app that has a dark mode setting. The night mode setting in developer options I've noticed, doesn't really matter. When I use Android auto, it switches between day and night on its own. Now if I pick up my device and use it while it is still plugged into my car, and I open messages which I have dark mode enabled, it will switch Android auto to dark. And I would have to unplug the USB and plug it back in. Hope that helps

May be you guys should try turning off the setting and restart, if that doesnt solve the problem go to recovery mode and clear cache. Let us know if any of that works.
On a side note: I have been facing weird ass issues with this phone just today my phone wont go to mute by using volume key while receiving a call. Like someone calls you and your phone is ringing, you just want to silence the ringtone you can use volume key (Press once), Flip the phone or put your palm over it (If you have the settings on). I tried multiple restarts and switched on and off the settings many times. It was fixed when i restarted my phone to download mode (This happened by mistake i wanted to go to recovery) anyhow that fixed it.

If they catch it. Consider which sensors and operation triggers it, cause and effect, to narrow it down.
Playing with Android is fun... Android witch hunts are how you really learn about Android's gooey layer tricks.
Google searches on older Notes and parallel Samsung models can turn up answers many times.
This model is too recent; so not near as much online troubleshooting info. Google searches encompass threads on this forum as well so it can be a good way to find the needle in the Android stack. Do not time limit searches.
On my 10+ with it's baffling bt poor audio I found the answer with something written about the N9.

It does suck some battery life though. It's one of the features I disable on my 10+ mostly because I find it annoying.
It's cool though how much you can customize notification behavior; one of the biggest reasons to go with Samsung is customization.
I play around with Settings a lot.. never crashed a load doing it. It's just occasionally gets time consuming to sort it out.
