I just bought the the [N915f ] International factory unlocked.
during the night I have got the LALIPOP 5.0.1 update, now don't know if that was a mistake.
I want to root my thing and I can't find the rooting method for n915f running 5.0.1.
am I missing it ?
should I downgrade back to 4.4.4 root it and upgrade it with FlashfFire? (as I did with my NOTE PRO 12.2 p905)

As i did succssefuly and easly on my tab using towlroot and FLASHFIRE
As for my phone.
I want to do somthing wierd,
I want to use towelroot, but it wont work on firmware grater the june 3 2014.
My device doesnt have any firmware less then oct 2014
What will happend if i take a similar device firmware and my firmware
Extrac both mix both so i get my model modem recovaty and boot
But rest of os would the other model's kitkat ,
I dont expact to run/work this way,
Only make my device boot on kitkat then towlroot it supersu it
And FLASHFIRE it to stock lalipop 5.0.1 ROOTED

Rooted N915F lollipop
I successfully rooted my N915F running on latest lollipop using this method, just download the cf root 915f files , flash with odin that is provided inside the zip file and ofcourse it will fail, then flashed the latest TWRP 2.8.7.0, in my case i have to make the tar file using cygwin because the tar file is not available on TWRP website instead you will get a img file. After the TWRP is up, i flashed the supersu 2.46

So recently, i decided to try and update my rooted custom rom galaxy s5. But i don't want to update to 6.0.1 because rooting won't work for my device model and so i would only like to update to 5.1.1. I cant update it through the phone settings because my firmware/rom was modified. I don't want to flash any stock firmware/rom on my device either because then, i wouldn't be able to update my device through the settings in the future. So what would you guys recommended i do?
Correct me if i am wrong. But if i update my firmware through kies right now, it will use the latest 6.0.1 firmware instead of 5.1.1.
I'm trying to root my GS6 Edge SM-G925P (Sprint) phone and I see that the the files available on the site, but my build number is MMB29K.G925PVPS4CPI3 rather than MMB29K.G925PVPU3CPB6 on this site from chainfire. help can i still root it? im running 6.0.1 marshmallow

I have the S6 SM-S906L model. This is the "tracphone straighttalk version of the S6 which apparently has same hardware as the Verizon 920V
This model only has 1 stock firmware available which is 5.02
I am stock and rooted on this device on 5.02 with TWRP 3.0 ...........I simply want to upgrade past 5.02
I don't care about fingerprint
I don't care about having root
I don't care if I cannot downgrade.
I just would like to be running 5..1.1 or 6.01 firmware
I have successfully TWRPed 920V and 920F 5.02 custom roms onto this device.
QUESTION : Wouldn't I need to flash compatible bootloader for 5.1 or 6.0 before I can successfully upgrade past 5.02? If so, what bootloaders would work?
I have been told I I can flash 920R6 6..01 stock rom on this by removing the bootloader and modem files from the tar and just flash................ If so, couldn't I do the same with Verizon 920V 6.01? Or even 920F 6.01?
And back to the same question........don't I need to upgrade bootlooader before upgrading ?

i was running on Nougat latest may security patch on my device but I wanted to Downgrade to Marshmallow
Here is my phone model number
Model S6-g920F
I downloaded firmware from latest marshmallow firmware from Sammobile and tried to flash through Odin
After successfully completing the flash the phone is on bootloop.
Can anyone tell me how to downgrade without causing a bootloop
