Use the Gmail app. It's the true stock email client for Android (and it supports accounts other than Gmail).

Hmm maybe its cause I added an account already using the email app? I'll try removing it.
Guys, GMail App is ok for home / occasional use (it's too messy and colorful) but not for a professional use, with several email accounts and few "tons" of administrative messages daily. Conversation view in HTC Mail was a life saver, in Samsung Mail is - until now - the only real downside.
Waiting with great interest for such an improvement!

I've set up HTC's mail app to use my gmail account as an exchange account and I don't see folder management anywhere. All I can see is my inbox. Am I missing something? Also unlike on the captivate when I delete mail there it actually deletes it. Any way to make it archive? I like the HTC mail widget which is the only reason I'm doing mail this way, but if it won't work I'll get over it

What don't you like about the gmail app?
It doesn't have a pretty widget heh

You have to hit menu then choose folders from the individual account, not from the Combined Inbox. The downside I have noticed is that it only pushes the inbox.

The mail widget allows you to view emails without opening the app.
I personally like the ui of the gmail app over the stock mail app, and I don't like the widgets.
I was browsing the "post your homescreen " thread and came.across alot of people using the gmail app as apposed to the email app. I personally use the email one because of the ability to add my schools email account in it. Which one do you guys use and why?

I use both, the gmail one is pretty good.

Gmail is the only email account i use. Makes sense to use the App
I have both. But I rarely use gmail.
I use both too. I use gmail for well my gmail accounts and the reg email app for my none gmail accounts. I like both
Yeah I think I'm going to use both aswell. I have 2 gmail accounts and then my school email
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I use both because it is easy to keep my personal email from work email. Just an added barrier of sending an email from the wrong account.
I use K-9 for personal mail, Roadsync for work mail, Gmail for google account type stuff.
All email accounts auto-forward back to gmail to keep a copy of everything in archive.
I have all my mailaccounts aggregated on my own server and use K9 to access them. For me K9 is the best mail client on android, not only because it can sign and encryped my mails.

Nothing fancy, just a virtual root-server with an imap-server, a smtp-server, spam-detection and a script to fetch from all my freemail-accounts.

Don't think so, gmail doesn't seem to be very integrated into htc sense.
You can forgo the gmail app and add your gmail account as exchange account to the default email app.

I have my other devices set up this way, but never thought to try it with Android because...well it's google. Do you prefer it that way? I've had Android since the G1 was released and never tried anything but the Gmail app

I don't know if it's better or whatever, but I am using clean rom Dev edition and the AOSP email app so I can pinch to zoom I've read arguments that polling email this way uses less battery, but who knows. The only reason I remember the trick is because it was the only way to get push email from Gmail on my iPhone
I would also love gmail to be recognized as an email app.

I think Aqua Mail is the one to go for. I use it for my gmail and outlook accounts. You can even download Development builds on their forum. It has a pleasant interface and a lot of options.
i just use the gmail app , no complaints here. Guess it all depends on what you want in the app.
I am using cloudmagic for company exchange account. Works great for me.

cheers guys ill go through them and c which is the one for me..
Cloudmagic (free and perfect for exchange accounts, but a little "dangerous" about privacy) or Aquamail (very good but free version is limited to 2 accounts and adds app infos in each outgoing mail sign and paid version is expensive for me, about 4 euros).
AquaMail but has no threaded messaging, some like that feature, I don't.
SolMail is good too.
Mailwise too.

I also like MailWise Beta, I use it for my Exchange server email. I used to use touchdown and Moxer but quickly stopped using those when I stumbled onto MailWise.

Have you ever tried MailWise Beta? It allows you to bypass the exchange security lock if that is something you are interested in or if you company policy enforces that. I think it has a nice interface as well. I guess it all depends on user preference.
I'm still stuck with samsung email for my exchange account n I think it's a pretty decent one.. I've tried Aqua and K9 but didn't really like the user interface of both

Since flashing to 4.4 KK I have went back to the stock Samsung email client. I have turned off the exchange security bypass so the default Samsung app is fine for me now.

I am running an Xposed module that allows me to turn it off. I am also using Wanam Xposed that has the option in it as well.
Edit:
If that doesn't work for you, you could always try MailWise Beta. They have an option to turn that off as well with a code. Download the app, before setting up your account, open the app, hit the menu button, click on exchange bypass and follow the instructions.
What's the name of that xposed module?

Perfect for all my personnal accounts + business email.
Hello there!
I've noticed, that sent e-mail are not saved/moved (don't know which mechanism should be) into "Sent" folder. Well... they are, but they're just available from phone - there's no sign of e-mails on webmail or directly on desktop e-mail application (like Thunderbird or eM Client). Does any one experience similar issues?
my email app working good , sending and incoming mails all are good
Is your email account setup as IMAP?
Besides, I remember there's an auto BCC in the Settings menu that you can set to always auto BCC yourself...

I don't have this exact issue, but I noticed that any email more than a week old seems to be removed from the app and has to be searched for manually, especially the starred emails. I'm using a Yahoo account for mine though.

I'm not the OP, but the stock mail app is just a portal to these various email servers. For some reason though, the stock app doesn't continue to store messages older than about a week and you have to search the email server to retrieve them. It's annoying, but it works.
I tried using the Gmail app, but it lacked some of the features I use in the stock app. I also tried inbox and Yahoo's own app but neither of them would connect to my work email account.
So just like the OP, I'm having some issues with the stock app but it works better for my needs than the others. If you're also using the stock app, please chime in with your experience.
