Hello I recently unrooted my HTC desire626s so update the firmware to 1.23.xxx and I hit install after downloading then when I boots up it goes to the cyanogenmod recovery screen so I go down to apply update and it asks through adb or select file. Since it was already downloaded I tried to find the file but I can't. Any idea where the firmware update file is at so I can update and reroot?

is that possible?
unlocked Desire, rooted using Unrevoked3, but no other aftermarket updates whatsoever.
software no. 3.13.707.2 (bought in Singapore)
you see, i got this OTA update. tried installing it, and on the Clockworkmod it says it's not verified or something. Turned off the verification, selected the file manually from the Download folder - and on the recovery it said that "Update Successful", but basband ,kernel version and all of the others remain the same.
I won't wipe my phone, no way. so RUU and such are useless. is this update worthy, anyway?
I saw that there is an option to select custom recovery on Unrevoked. is there a chance to load a stock recovery image and unroot my phone that way???
Hi
Anyone knows a way to convert an OTA zip file to be installed like an update zip for a custom recovery?
I've flashed stock recovery on my device just to update but didn't work
Allways get error
and I don't wanna go back to jelly bean and pass trough the whole process every time I got an update
Hi everyone,
I have Moto G 1st gen with unlocked bootloader, rooted, custom recovery and xposed framework.
My question is if:
1. uninstall xposed framework
2.install stock recovery
3. unroot
4. factory reset
... can i get OTA 5.0.2 ? or should flash stock rom.
Thanks in advance

you will be able to download the OTA but not install it.
unrooting and uninstalling the xposed, and flashing stock recovery will not work.
I suggest you to back up the OTA zip file after it downloads to the computer (/cache/ folder - its outside the sdcard directory)
you will need root to backup the OTA zip file (use ES File Explorer with Root options)
now flash the stock 4.4.4 firmware (the one that got the OTA update) with fastboot
the Lollipop update checks if the system folder was modified in any way. if it has, the update will fail

Problem is once the bootloader is unlocked, it can't be relocked until stock firmware image is flashed. I was searching for relocking bootloader in non-gpe moto g but no gain. Relocking process in gpe moto g is working very well though.
I have a rather different scenario . . i have stock ROM, custom recovery, unlocked bootloader and root access . .i tried to get the official lollipop update, but it got rejected due to low internal memory . .then after clearing memory, when i check for system updates , it says my "software is up to date" while it is still in kitkat!! . .i have been then checkin for updates again and again for days but still no use . .plz what should i do to get the official update? . .i have seen lots of others asking the same thing in different sites.but no answer.

In an attempt to stop anyone else from making a "pls halp me" thread I decided to make one myself.
Before I go further let me reiterate the importance of regular backups. Before you do anything, make a full backup of your device in a usable state^. This serves as somewhere you can revert to if you accidentally tap something that screws everything up.
^ - If you're trying to recover from what appears to be a softbrick you should start by flashing and/or booting into recovery or fastboot at least.
Being overly excited about finally getting Lollipop (I don't check for updates often) I immediately went and installed the first update available OTA, forgetting that I had for some reason refused to update my E8 since unboxing it. I've since successfully updated from 1.09 to 2.33 (Kit Kat 4.4.2 to Lollipop 5.0) and installed the Xposed Framework, here's some issues I ran into and what I did to solve them.
PROBLEM: Update takes you to your custom recovery mode without doing anything else.
Having already rooted and installing TWRP the OTA update failed, only taking me to TWRP's recovery screen instead of performing the update.
SOLUTION: Flash the stock recovery.img extracted from the downloaded .zip update in the Downloads folder on the Internal Storage
You can probably find the OTA/RUU update .zip you need from this thread or let your E8 check and download the update .zip which you can then find in the Download folder on the Internal Storage. Transfer it to your PC and extract recovery.img from 'firmware.zip' in the update .zip file. Using fastboot, flash the extracted stock recovery image and reboot. You can now restart the update which will properly complete. Once your phone has booted back up into Lollipop and completed the update you should flash back your custom recovery of choice using fastboot.
PROBLEM: ROOT LOST AFTER UPDATE
This shouldn't be a surprise. OTA updates will unroot your device.
SOLUTION: Install SuperSU in recovery, NOT Play Store.
Download the latest SuperSU installable .zip and copy it to your phone. Boot into recovery and install.
My E8 is a single-sim M8sX but I believe these steps should work with any other variant.
