I juts bought nexus 5 from my friend and i thought it was good, but first time i fully charged it only took 1 and half hour to 1%. So whats wrong with this?
"App usage 64%"...?
I don't have GSAM, but I do have Wakelock Detector, which tells me which apps have been active. Does GSAM do that? If not, try Wakelock Detector to identify the rogue app. You'll need to be rooted.
Edit: I've just checked GSAM and it does show the apps, so can you post that screen?

I recommend you read and post in the battery life thread, it's there for this exact reason: to help logically diagnose your issue.
- If it is a software issue (which is 99% of the time), then you can pinpoint your bad app(s), as you have started to above e.g. Puffin... Best is to uninstall it if you don't need it, or work out ways to prevent wakelocks.
- If it is a hardware issue, then your battery will 'drain' without any usage. The best way to confirm this is to factory reset and install no additional apps, but this is last resort.
If he fast rebooted it he probably messed up the battery calibration. Also the phone is getting old .I had that battery life before I bought a new battery. The short battery life is the Achilles heel of the phone.

My battery life was just awful yesterday and it a bit better today. I think this is a reporting issue though because every time I open better battery stats it crashes at start and wakelock detector says it could no complete the action at this time.
Anyone know of a way to fix this? I already wiped battery stats.

No battery stats app is working right now. BBS, Wakelock detector, GSAM... must be a 4.4 thing.

There is a beta for BBS in the app section of the forum that is working.
There appears to be some kind of battery drainage issue that a reboot fixes. I was losing 6% an hour and the phone was in it's holster. 98.5% deep sleep. Reboot stopped it. I checked the uptime before I rebooted, 35 hours.
Hello all!
I recently received my OnePlus One and have had it for about 5 days now. I love the phone, but I seem to be having a problem with my battery. I've only been able to squeeze about 3 hours from this phone. Coming from a Note 2 (which also has a 3100 mah battery) I was expecting to get about 6-7 hours of screen on time. Could I have a defective battery? My screen is only at about 25%-30% brightness most of the time.
I attached a screenshot of my battery life. Thanks!

Can you post the complete battery graph, maybe wakelocks draining the battery... If not then seems like I also have the same problem. Not doing anything but it drained 11% of my battery.

I've charged my phone since this so I don't have the graph anymore. However, I notice that by battery drains 1-2% per hour on standby.
Your screenshot shows absolutely nothing. Your battery is not defective. You obviously have wakelocks that are preventing your phone from deep sleeping.
You need to show:
- Wakelocks (Partial Wakelocks, CPU, etc)
- Overall battery stats
I wouldn't be surprised if its Google Play Services.

Well those screenshots don't really help now since you charged your phone. When you charge your phone your previous battery stats are dumped and new stats start to appear since you've unplugged.
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/android-basics-101-understanding-wakelocks-xda-developer-tv/
In simplest terms, its a app on your phone that is preventing your phone from entering a deep sleep mode. So even though your screen is off, a app on your phone is keeping your phone awake as if the screen is on not allowing the phone to enter a deep sleep mode (very conservative on battery).
Can you download GSAM Battery Monitor and look at the info that gives you? And which ROM are you on?
Check if your "Ok Google" turned on, i had mine turned on and it was draining my battery as it was not letting my phone to sleep.
Google Search -> Menu -> Google Hotword detection
And yes Double Tap to Wake might also be another one .

I have used BBS and GSAM before, but I think GSAM is better. However, in the latest update some of the menu options have changed names.
Could you explain what each one is for? I can see Kernel Wakelocks, which one is 'Partial Wakelocks' now? Should I be looking at any of the other tabs?

In Gsam, click the vacuum icon on the bottom left of the screen. This will tell you which apps are using the most battery. You can then click on an app from there and see what exactly it's doing. When your battery gets low, see what comes up as draining a lot of your battery and post back.
As to partial wakelocks, idk. Let's just see what is draining your battery.
I prefer Wakelock Detector. Gsam is not too bad though. I just prefer the simplicity of wakelock detector

OK so I have let my phone run without charging all day and here are the stats. I could only get 3 hrs. of screen time...pretty crappy. Anyway, my brightness has been at about 60% and GPS in battery saving mode. Please help, as I love this phone, but would hate to get rid of it because of battery issues.

I get almost close to 6 hours of screen ontime , but yes most of the stuff like GPS / NFS is turned off when im not using it ..
Like i mentioned did you try to turn off the " OK google " stuff , i had experience of it waking up device quite often and draining my battery, try turning them off ...
Other place to look out for what is walking up your device most of the time and deny them the access to wake up your phone , to hunt those apps , check
settings -> privacy -> privacy guard -> menu -> advanced -> device tab .
I found my facebook app / google play services was constantly waking up my device when on sleep , i denied "keep awake" to boost some more battery life ...

Check on what's keeping your GPS on all the time. My GPS is left on, but when I'm looking at my battery stats for the past 24 hours and it's maybe 3 or 4 slivers where the GPS actually turned on for a moment when I used an app to find my location.
hi everybody, since one or two weeks i see i have a big battery drain when my phone is "inactive"... how to resolve this please?
Your screenshot doesn't tell us anything. Further debugging can be found using BetterBatteryStats / Gsam / Wakelock Detector, root is required.
A app is preventing your phone from deep sleeping.
The only thing your screenshot does show us is that Play Services is there, http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-google-play-services-battery-t2832525
View that to fix that but theres definitely more to it than Play Services.

I don't understand your question. In actuality, it takes a couple days for your phone to settle in the new kernel if thats what you're asking.
As long as your phone is properly deep sleeping, you shouldn't be worrying.
You can find out by using 1 of the 3 apps I mentioned previously.

i say, is it possible that the battery drain comes from new kernel?(AK)
also thanks for your help dude, and i modified googleplay services as you've told me with my fresh install of cm11...
I have 2 days of battery life almost and still have 20% left. I use this phone heavily and haven't recharged.
I had the same problem where 60% drain overnight.
Now 2 says.
All I did was turn off Facebook Location services.
That's it.
Facebook was draining so much. I have Wifi on, GPS with High Accuracy.
Facebook always drains a significant amount of battery, I prefer using the mobile website but if you must need the app then greenify it.
I charged it to 100% before going to sleep. When I woke up in the morning, the battery was 82%. I mean srsly wtf ? I have no idea what's going on. This draining issue has started after I've started using oneplus power bank . plz help me. Also there r no wakelocks so that's not an issue.

Post also wakelocks fom GSam Some running app is using up your battery
Here's the app usage screenshot
Here is what I do,
1. Install Battery Monitor Widget from PlayStore.
2. Use the "History" tab in the application to measure the battery drain when idle. The application records the drain every 10 minutes.
I typically have a -6mA drain when the phone is asleep (Google Now running, Location set to "battery saving"). This should give you a good idea on how your phone is behaving.
Gsam sucks, you need to use something like BetterBatteryStats to effectively track down what's causing the wakelock. Get BBS, run the phone normally for a few hours, and then post screenshots of the Other, Partial Wakelocks, and Alarms screens in BBS.

Actually "battery saving" location eats more battery, than Device only since it's using WiFi + Cellular instead of GPS. At least it's my experience, that I have a bit less drain on Device Only, than on Battery saving.
After a week of using these apps.. I've found that there are no wakelocks, still the battery drains overnight.
Will the battery recaliberation help?
Or maybe chaning the rom?
I'm on stock rom as of now. Non rooted.
PLease please suggest me something.

I had issues with battery draining when I left my phone somewhere with low signal strength overnight.
Also I experienced battery drains when my I had a slow internet connection. It may be that some applications are trying to sync, but they are unable to due to slow connection. So they try again and again. (I have this issue with K9-Mail).
I would also suggest to check if Google Location Reporting ist switched on. It was also a battery drainer I had a problem with in the past.
So before you start flashing ROMs, make sure this is not related to signal or synchronization problems.
What is causing the battery drain ???
Here r some screenshots
Sent from my A0001 using XDA Free mobile app
Obviously Google+, it tries to sync something, maybe pictures.
I have had tons of issues with Kitkat ever since the update. And I recently rooted and installed the Xposed framework to get Amplify, which I donated to limit wakelocks. Which I did. And Standby times are pretty good. Only lost around 8% overnight. But even after calibrating, keeping brightness very low, turning off motion and using TB to freeze most of the system's draining apps. But it still doesn't help when I can only get around 2 hours of screen on time. Every time I check battery usage and such, It is either screen (which of course is normal) and Android System. Which claims in battery stats, that the apps I disabled still drained my battery when they weren't creating wakelocks.
I disabled (froze) things like KNOX and the Verizon software updater (Because let's face it, Verizon doesn't care about the GS3 and neither does Samsung. We won't get any updates.) and they still drain my battery. No matter what I do, my screen on time is also horrible! And whenever data is on, I always get 3x worse battery life. Despite being in 4G with 3 or 5 bars at ALL times.
I have no clue if it is just something deep down like the systemui that is causing it, or if i need to rename a certain system file with a *.bak extension. Or if it is strictly my battery in general.
Any **Help** is greatly appreciated.
Still no response, but I will say I disabled at least half of the phones apps and services, but I still cannot manage to get more than an hour and a half of screen on time. Standby times are still pretty good though. Only lose 5% overnight.

I would suggest installing Better Battery Stats to see which apps are causing the drain. Many then use that information to get the best use from Amplify, Greenify, and possibly PowerNap. Amplify will help most with standby times. The other two will help with standby and in sue battery drain.
There is a link to a helpful thread about standby battery times in the Amplify thread OP. See the reference to the thread by Celestial Fury. There is a link to the Battery Battery Stats thread in the Celestial Fury thread. The BBS dev has provided a free version for XDAers.
This is a thread similar to the one by Celestial Fury, it discusses PowerNap.
EDIT: I have a vague recollection of a radio bug discussed in one or both threads that causes excessive battery drain. Search for mobile radio active fix.

I n=might have posted twice, but the issue is the battery drains when the screen on. I already have amplify so the standby times are fine. I just need a way to extend the screen on time.

Greenify and Powernap can help with screen on time. Calibrating doesn't change how your battery works, you may get better accuracy in battery stats reporting though. Did you use BBS or the built in battery app? BBS will tell you what is draining battery in both standby and use times. Use the text dumpfile option in the sharing contextual menu to generate a file that can be used by those who understand battery usage to analyze your device.
