samsung gs2 rooting

I was looking at this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399&page=147
trying to figure out a root for my phone. it was recommended to me by someone on the androidforums.
so when i read the thread i see where everyones model number is i9100
my specs says this
model # shw-m250k
firmware version 2.3.3
baseband version m250k.ee17.1456.kt
2.6.35.7.m250k.ee31.1419-cl213937
build number gingerbread.ee31
my phone says galaxy sII on the box, on the manual and when you power it up, but the model numbers dont match.
i bought my phone in korea a few days ago from an olleh store. i am in the us army station here and want to use the phone on the verizon network when i get back to the u.s. next year.
s2 rooting
Hi all, Im totally newbie to this so I start reading a root guide here in order to do it on my phone. After reading I been able to find the firmware I should use but when go to my phone and look at the specs I find that some differ from the ones posted
My config is (by pressing *#1234#):
PDA: I9100XWKF3
PHONE: I9100XXFK1
CSC: I9100OJVKF1
I would like to now if I use the files (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278) under the XWKF3 section it will work for me ?
I want that my phone had Spanish and English language (as now) and want to make sure it will, also would like to know if with the "FOP" file and the "XWKF3 Stock Kernel" it is enough in order to root it ?
Sorry for the long question and please if someone knows or have a similar config and was able to root the device let me know.
Thx in advance.
Wouldn't both these posts be better served in the Samsung galaxy SII forum??
well, the forum will not let me post there until i have 10 posts.

[Q] root for a Korean Galaxy noste 10.1

Hi there all!
I just got a new galaxy note 10.1 from South Korea and I have some questions.
I tried to find a guide to root the device but I couldn't find anyone specific for this model,
and I'm not sure if it's because I'm new to android (former apple fan, first android based device I own),or just because there aren't any
I hope someone can help me and guide me a little bit
Many thanks

I've got the same model that I bought when I lived in Korea last year. The file I've used to root is called
CF-Auto-Root-p4notewifiany-p4notewifiany-shwm480w.tar.md5
I got it somewhere here on the forum (don't remember where, so search for it. I just install it with Odin (again, read the root section on how to use Odin)
As for other firmware, I haven't had much luck. For some reason, the FW installs, but won't fully boot (boot-loops at Samsung screen). I haven't asked any of the smart people on here for help, but there is probably some trick to it. This model appears identical hardware-wise to the 801x models, but I guess it's not. I ran into the same problems with my original Galaxy S phone when I lived in Korea, only it was much different hardware-wise than the international version.
So rooting is easy, other FW, I haven't had luck with, but I haven't tried that hard to change it, either. There have been a few posts specific to this model on here, so search for them, too. But again, very little info on this model.

Remove simlock

Hi xda, it's been a while since I've been here and looking around has me scratching my head a little.
Anyway I have just purchased a galaxy s6 from eBay foolishly thinking it would be easy to remove the simlock but after a little reading I'm beginning to think I may have made a mistake. I'm not sure what network the phone is locked to as I have not yet received it and the listing states in the title O2 but the description says Vodafone, all I know is the model begins G920F. I thought maybe rooting and flashing a stock firmware would remove the simlock but after reading it looks like this is not the case. I then read also about "tripping knox" which sounds like something I don't want to be doing.
Root is probably something I will be looking to do in the future but not essential right now but I would be very grateful if somebody could tell me the best way to go about putting my virgin sim in this phone.
Please help
Thanks Peter.
I thought the 920F is the facotry unlocked international version so any sim would work.
When are you receiving this? Where are you trying to make this work.
Sent from my SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
Most European providers don't simlock, so you will most likely just have a provider rom, they are easy to replace with a generic stock rom
He is sending the phone out first class tomorrow so I'll report back after I have received it. I'll be using it in the UK, hopefully I'll get lucky and just be able to use it as soon as I get it. Thanks for the replies people.
Try buying an unlock code from one of the many reputable online unlockers.

no you need an unlock code
Well I received the phone today and it seems I don't have to worry about the simlock as it's a bloody counterfeit!!! Grrrrrrrrrr, in the middle of a dispute atm but hopefully I'll receive a refund. Anybody that wants to help please see this thread...

J737V Bootloader Unlock request

Hello all,
I got a budget Samsung phone a while ago, the SM-J737V, expecting the usual 2 years of updates, from oreo > pie, and then to Q. But Samsung (or maybe Verizon I suppose) screwed me over and only gave me oreo > pie and then nothing.
What I'm here for is to ask all of the kind developers on this forum to please assist me in finding a way to unlock the J737V's bootloader, so that maybe one day this phone may see Lineage OS or AOSP, and so my phone will not die less than 2 years after I got it.
Thank you, and godspeed.

You can check this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-unlock-bootloader-samsung-galaxy-j7.3409080/
But IDK if this will work on your device. Best to ask in this thread first before flashing wrong files to your device.

Nope, didn't work unfortunately. My J7 is a newer one with no fastboot support and a locked bootloader.
Good day, I have a Samsung Galaxy j7v for about 3 yrs or more that my friend bought from a person overseas and from I got the phone it keeps asking me for a pin. It seems the phone is tied to an organization and as such I can't use the phone, is there anyone that can help me with removing this organization thing from the phone please?

How to really downgrade Galaxy S6 SM-G920F firmware from 7.0 to 5.0.2/5.1.1/6.0.1?

Hello
I've been reading forums and downloading files for days. Many of the links in the posts no longer work. Posts are 5 years and older. There are no new ones. At least not one that actually works. Downgrade I mean. That's why I wrote this question and I'm asking for help - how to really downgrade my Galaxy S6 G920F.
Thanks for the help.
