Broke my phone, can't use SD card on New Phone - General Questions and Answers

Hello there, i have a little newbie problem with my old SD card. I used my Sd card as "internal storage", but when my old phone died, i bought a new one, but it refuses to work with old SD card. When i plug it in, Android says "unaceptable sd card", then it let me chose if i want to use it as external or internal storage, no matter what i choose it can't finish formating.
I tryed throught card reader with different applications for windows, tryed DiskPart, but every time it says SD card read only mode. Theres no usual way to format it , not in m phone, not throught Windows. The last way i didnt used is some Linux Os for my pc, but i never used it and im afraid it could be unrealistic for me.
Is there any other solution for my issue? Thanks for atention

Ok.

[Resolved] 64gb micro sd not working

So I got a new 64gb micro sd card for Christmas and it doesn't seem to work on my phone whatsoever. Every time I put it into my phone it says it's damaged and that I need to format it, but instead of formatting it, it erases all my files in the internal storage. I didn't realize it the first time and it was very annoying to find out it did that. The micro sd card does however, work on my pc. So I've tried to format the sd card mutiple times on my pc , using different apps and formatting it to different types, but none of it seems to be working. I do not think it has anything to do with my cfw I have on because I changed it and I'm still having the same problem. So any help or suggestions would be appreciated as I would really like to have the extra storage on my phone.
You have to format it as FAT32. Skyrockets won't read it if it's formatted any other way.

Damaged SD Card

Hi guys,
My phones micro-sd card has been acting strange and was not being recognized at times by my phone. I then proceeded to put it in its SD card adapter and put it in my Mac and got an error saying the card was unreadable. I then put it in a reader on my PC and everytime I try to access the drive it gives me the 2 errors, "You need to format the drive...etc" and after clicking cancel it says that my drive is an unrecognized file format.
Recuva says it can't read the boot sector and running chkdsk gives me the message that the file format is RAW.
Just tried running ReclaiMe file recovery and it says the card is only 30.6MB while it is actually a 32GB card.
Do you guys think there is any hope? Or should I just move on?
Any help would appreciated. Got a lot of pictures and music I would love to save on the drive, plus ROM backups.
Thanks so much

I've killed an SD card before.. not sure how.. it had been partitioned EXT3 for a rom on a desire.. then re-formatted to normal..
but the problem came months after without notice one day the camera was failing and the gallery wouldn't open..
I tried a new SD card and things were fine so I figured the SD card died
Try to use MiniTool Partition Wizard on your pc, and delete ext partition and swap stay only on fat32. if that does not work format your card to exfat. If that doesn`t work try use program "winhex"(before i used it, my computer hadnt read my card). I repaired my card 3 times these methods.
You can use this ONLY on memory card reader.

Micro SD card unreadable after trying to format it

Today i was attempting to partion my SD card so i can install more applications on my phone(i hate the low internal memory i have). Anyhow, i used this tutorial to get it done, and now my SD card wont be recgonized by either my pc or phone, i tried booting into recovery in my phone and partion it trough recovery, all i got was "Mounting of SD card failed!". On Pc it actually picks up that thre is an SD card inserted, but wont read it.
I realize that i need to format it, but there is no option to do so on PC, or at least i cant find it, im guessing a special programm might be needed.
Any ideas?

Recovering an "Adopted" SD Card?

Hi folks,
I have an SD card here that I was using for Adopted Storage but I've managed to get it stuck as an "adopted" card and can't seem to get it back functioning as a normal SD card
Long story short... I wiped the device the card was in but I didn't "unadopt" the SD card before hand - as in set it back to portable mode. While the device could recognise there was an SD card afterwards, it couldn't prepare it for use and suggested a card error or something to that effect.
I figured I'd just pop it in my laptop (Windows 10 x64) and re-format it but this didn't work. Failing this, I decided I'd "nuke" it using Minitools Partition Wizard. While this program had better luck identifying the card, could display and delete the partitions on it and could run the Wipe task - it had no effect on the card... the partitions just re-appear after any attempt to nuke them!
Has anyone any ideas about how I can restore this card back to a normal FAT formated SD card?
Just to clarify - I don't care for the data that might be on it... I just want the card back usable
Thanks
Recovering an "Adopted" SD Card?
The best solution for now would be to plug the sd card into a phone with android 6.0 so that the phone can read the card and then while setting it up,you can format the card as "normal "(the part where it asks you whether to use the card as in adaptive storage or for accessing files).

When I try this, I get "Unsupported SanDisk SD card"
I'm then asked to select either Portable or Internal and then Erase & Format but neither work. They fail at 20% and the message "Unsupported SanDisk SD card" is shown again
I'm a bit stumped. I thought surely the encryption used on adopted cards was only to stop external reads. It seems in this case it's stopping me from writing to or formating the card

SD card suddenly is no more detected

Hi all,
I'm facing this strange problem with the sd card, suddenly it is no more detected from the phone. Started to think that was a defective SD card so I replaced it with a new one ( same type and capacity ), but the problem appeared again after few days, no matter if I reinsert the sd card, reboot, switch off the phone.
I noticed the strange thing that putting the card into a Windows based computer ( and there it's fully functional ) and then back in the phone makes the sd card readable again, meanwhile doing the same thing with a computer Linux based does not work, also here the memory card is not detected, as if it is a problem related to Linux based systems. Every few days the problem comes back.
Before buying another sd card of another brand I would like to know is someone else had this issue.
Thanks everybody.

No, it's not like that... I use the SD card as an external storage for storing photos and music.. I never remove the sd card, all by itself becomes unreadable by the phone after few hours, and it's absolutely not damaged, because I can read it from another computer. Seems that the phone is someway unmount it in a bad way, indeed If I put in a windows computer and then back in the phone the SD card is detected again. Will try to buy another SD of a different brand, maybe it's just someway incompatible
