Just really wish it works on carbon.
It's not exactly a crash.
Picture is taken, but camera force closed,,, so had to open it again to take next picture

I have made a flashable zip with their original apk with some tweaks added in : bools, media_profiles.xml and some HW libs.

I have the same problem. The original camera fix was buggy but better -- it would allow for recording of video but taking a still image would crash the app.
If you want I can post a link to the original somewhere. Of course, a working version of this fix would be best; I've had to revert to a deodexed (sp?) stock rom just to get the camera functionality back. I really miss CM.

Actually, I think I need to apologize. I'm pretty sure that I'm using the wrong phone; it's a jfltetmo (t-mobile) device, not jflte. My bad.

Thanks for your work. But I also get the "Can't connect to camera" error. I clean flashed the 08-21 nightly CM11 and 6-6 gapps, then reboot and set up rom. Then flash the camera fix. But no luck.
I'm on jfltetmo device. I use TWRP 2.7.1.0. Wish this would work. The choppy video camera seems to be in all non touchwiz roms. Even in GPE edition. I'd be upset if I bought a GPE and out of the box it produced these poor videos.

Sound quality is good with me, try to wipe partition if it doesn't work you will have to wipe data/factory reset

Works for the most part except it won't let me save to my SD card and it doesnt let me take pictures over 5 mp in the front.

This fixes on Note5 Port and Custom Stock Lollipop ROM's Sound issue.
How appear issue?
Go-to IMO, Viber or other messenger (call support). Change volume and issue happens. Sound will be too low.
Tested and worked ROM's:
1. AryaMod.
2. Audax L.
3. Phronesis (v4, v5, v5.2, v6).
4. Norma ROM (v20 and v18)
what is with AOSP (CM ?)

Installation:
There are two methods to install this port.. Both run over the recovery of his trust. I recommend Team Win Recovery Project.
Method 1:
First make a backup into your recovery!
Flash firstly your ROM, secondly the Camera port and at least your Kernel.
Reboot into System and do the Setup. Check your Camera if everything works.
If it not works and the Camera force close please flash the fix file and check again.

Flash the Camera Mod dirty over your current ROM.
Wipe Cache and Reboot.

I just cleaned up the installation. The camera application is working normally, taking pictures. After taking a picture, I get an error when I go into the gallery to look at the picture and take it back to the camera.
